Noticing the displeasure in her eyes, Ethan Kingsley, afraid of putting her off, quickened his pace and gently placed her in a chair.

Claire Sinclair imdiately began massaging her thigh, her lips pursed and her brows knitted with annoyance.

Ethan Kingsley felt himself zone out for a second, almost completely captivated by her.

’A classic fem fatale. Truly dangerous!’

Ethan Kingsley deliberately took a step back, a smirk tugging at his lips. "Leg still bothering you? Want to take a look?"

Claire Sinclair glanced up at him but didn’t reply. Instead, she turned to Linda. "Linda, you can get back to what you were doing. I just need to rest for a bit, I’ll be fine."

"Alright, I’ll leave you two to it, then," Linda said with a aningful look before turning and walking away.

Claire Sinclair raised an eyebrow. ’Did Linda get the wrong idea?’

Ethan Kingsley chuckled. "Linda’s a smart woman. I’ll have to give her a raise."

Claire Sinclair ignored him. Thumping her leg with one hand, she pulled out her phone with the other and sent a ssage to Teacher Hartwell: "Teacher Hartwell, I’m inside. Where are you?"

The ssage had just gone through when a breathless voice suddenly sounded from behind her. "Claire Sinclair, what’s going on with you?"

"Teacher Hartwell!" Claire Sinclair turned around, pleasantly surprised. ’This flake finally decided to show up!’

Henry Hartwell, however, didn’t spare her a glance. His eyes fixed directly on Ethan Kingsley. Narrowing his gaze, he said, "Ethan Kingsley, if you’re looking for a woman, go find one of them. Stay away from my people."

As he spoke, he gestured across the vast hall in the direction from which Selene Shaw was approaching.

A playful expression crossed Ethan Kingsley’s face. He looked at Claire Sinclair, his gaze suggestive. "Your people? Or your woman?"

Henry Hartwell replied in a cold voice, "Whether she’s one of my people or my woman, she’s not soone you can afford to provoke."

"Heh... Interesting." Ethan Kingsley chuckled but said nothing more, turning instead to greet the approaching Selene Shaw.

Without a word, Selene Shaw threw her arms around Ethan Kingsley’s neck and boldly kissed him.

The scene left everyone stunned.

"Oh my god, Selene Shaw and Ethan Kingsley are kissing!"

"Are they going public with their relationship???"

"I never thought they were actually together. This is huge!"

"Ah, my god and goddess!"

"No way... Ethan Kingsley is such a player. How could Goddess Shaw get together with soone like him? I just can’t accept it!"

Claire Sinclair had no interest in this kind of industry gossip, and Henry Hartwell had even less.

Henry Hartwell sat down beside Claire Sinclair. Watching her thump her leg, he asked casually, "What’s wrong with your leg?"

"It’s an old injury with so lasting effects. Whenever I get nervous or really scared, it just gives out. Basically, it gets paralyzed, and I can’t move it at all."

"That’s a thing? What do the doctors say about it?"

"I’ve had it checked several tis, and the doctors all say it’s fine. It’s probably a psychological thing."

"Looks like we’ll have to do so team-building exercises when we get back. Otherwise, with a condition like yours, I won’t feel comfortable sending you out to cover stories in the future..."

Ethan Kingsley and Selene Shaw were not far from the pair, so Ethan overheard their entire conversation.

’So, he’d misunderstood her. Her leg gave out because she was nervous...’

’She really was a dangerous woman, effortlessly winning a man’s sympathy and desire to protect him.’

’At the very least, he felt a flutter in his chest.’

Sensing Ethan Kingsley’s distraction, a displeased Selene Shaw pulled her lips away from his.

She was about to speak, but Ethan Kingsley suddenly pressed a finger to her lips. "Shh, don’t talk," he murmured. "I want to savor the taste of your kiss for a mont longer. So sweet."
