Hayden Shaw ntally barked "Attention!" at himself, then saluted and reported loudly, "Sir, Reporter Sinclair has arrived in the disaster zone! She is currently on Mount Goldspring participating in volunteer services. Report complete!"

Adrian Quincy shot to his feet, suddenly towering over Hayden Shaw by half a head. An intimidating aura emanated from him as he parted his thin lips. "Which Reporter Sinclair?"

A numbing chill shot down Hayden Shaw’s spine, and his voice trembled. "The one... from the Astoria Daily, Reporter Claire Sinclair..."

"You brought her here?" Adrian Quincy’s eyes narrowed slightly. His frigid, rciless gaze was like a sharp blade, threatening to pierce right through Hayden Shaw’s body.

Hayden Shaw felt like his head was about to roll off his shoulders. A cold dread crept up his neck, and his voice ca out in a stutter. "S-Sir! Reporter Sinclair ca on her own with the other volunteers! I didn’t know she was Young Mrs. Quincy! If I had known, I would never have let her co here!"

’He wouldn’t have dared, not even if he had ten thousand tis the nerve!!!’

Adrian Quincy shot him a cold glare but said nothing more, turning and walking out.

Aiden Howkins and Nancy Lockwood were waiting outside the tent.

Seeing him erge, Aiden imdiately handed over a backpack. "Young Master Quincy, the Young Madam had Hayden Shaw deliver this for you."

Adrian Quincy took the backpack and opened it to look inside.

A few pairs of n’s socks, so n’s underwear, and a clean set of casual clothes. There was nothing else.

’Claire brought these for herself. A token of her affection...’

’Since our wedding, this is the first ti she’s taken the initiative to show goodwill. Does this an she’s starting to care about ?’

In that instant, the corners of the man’s lips curled into a gentle, charming smile. The icy aura around him suddenly vanished, as if spring had arrived.

Nancy Lockwood and Aiden Howkins stealthily craned their necks, both dying to see what treasure was in the bag that could make the ever-stoic Great Demon King Quincy crack such an unguarded smile.

Unfortunately, the items in the bag were tucked away too deep to be seen clearly.

Just then, Adrian Quincy suddenly spoke. "Nancy, send two people to protect Claire in secret. Don’t let her notice them, and don’t let her overexert herself. If anything happens, I’ll hold you personally responsible."

"Yes, sir!" Nancy Lockwood saluted.

Adrian Quincy took the backpack and walked into the adjacent tent, which served as a temporary washroom...

Aiden Howkins and Nancy Lockwood exchanged glances, at a loss for words.

Hayden Shaw stord out of the command center, grabbed Aiden Howkins by the collar, and roared, "You bastard! Were you ssing with ?!"

Aiden Howkins couldn’t help but laugh. "Are you an idiot? Who besides Young Master Quincy would dare sleep in the command center?"

’That actually made so sense...’

Hayden Shaw let go of his collar, his attitude softening. He asked in a low voice, "Did Young Master Quincy really marry Reporter Sinclair?"

Aiden Howkins shrugged. "Who do you think would dare to spread rumors about Young Master Quincy’s marriage?"

Hayden Shaw gulped. "I get it. I won’t breathe a word of this!"

"Good. You know what’s good for you."

It was better to be shot dead by the enemy than to provoke Adrian Quincy. That was a lesson widely circulated in the training camps. Who would dare offend the cold-faced King of Hell!

...

Life on the mountain was incredibly harsh. There was no water, no electricity, and no cell service. The only way to contact soone was to find them and deliver the ssage in person.

On Claire Sinclair’s second day on the mountain, her phone ran out of battery. She had forgotten to bring a power bank, so she tossed the phone aside, cleared her mind of distractions, and focused wholeheartedly on helping in the disaster zone.

Perhaps heaven was looking out for her. Despite being on the mountain for so long amid the volatile weather, her body had surprisingly held up. Moreover, the tasks assigned to her by the volunteer team were all light work, which she handled without any pressure.
