The enlightennt ceremony connects to the Celestial Venerable; during enlightennt, the Celestial Venerable is definitely present. Offering the first incense and prayers at this ti is to pray right in front of the Celestial Venerable.
At other tis, when you pray, there are so many statues of the Celestial Venerable in the mortal realm, each statue having so many people praying, how can the Celestial Venerable look at each one?
No matter how strong the divine power, watching these day after day would beco tireso.
Moreover, the Celestial Venerable needs to vanquish demons; with so many divine duties, he’s exceedingly busy, occasionally rely glancing at a couple of favorable prayers is already pretty good.
So now you know why so people are willing to spend so much on the first incense, right?
Those who believe in this see it as a rare opportunity for one-on-one wishing.
The Chen Clan mbers surely wouldn’t miss this first incense offering opportunity.
Apart from these clan mbers, behind the crowd, there was also a dog and the Three Oxen nad Fulu Shou, which seed to understand the peculiarity of the day, obediently lying still.

As she spoke, the aunt also perford Taoist rituals at the spiritual platform position, respectfully bowing three tis, then stood humbly aside and struck the drum again.
