The moonlight was like gauze, gently drifting down.

Yet, at the mont it touched that Sword Light, it rippled with layer upon layer of waves. A power that chilled one’s Divine Soul spread forth, wanting to trace the Sword Blade back to Chu Zhihe’s Primordial Spirit.

Chu Zhihe’s sword trembled slightly, emitting a clear and high-pitched hum, its sharp brilliance swirling, shredding that thread of moonlight into fragnts.

However, those threads of moonlight dispersed and gathered imperceptibly, and in an instant, they coalesced again, then entwined with the Sword Blade.

Chu Zhihe frowned deeply. Although the disciples of the Tao Vein cultivated at the Bright Moon Temple, the spells they eventually ford differed in a thousand subtle ways based on their own foundation and understanding of heaven and earth.

Qi Zhiyuan hadn’t even utilized a Divine Weapon, yet with magic alone, he could suppress his own Qinghe Sword, clearly indicating his cultivation surpassed his own.

"Qi Zhiyuan, who would have thought that over these years, you’ve remained so inconspicuous, your cultivation reaching such unfathomable heights."

"If I’m not mistaken, you’ve already attained the Celestial Human Seventh Layer, right?!"

As Chu Zhihe spoke, a resolute expression erged on his face, a moon mark appearing at the center of his brow.

It was clearly a cloudless sunny day, yet suddenly a bright moon appeared in the Nine Heavens, and then a moonbeam cascaded like a waterfall from the sky, engulfing Chu Zhihe’s body.

In just over a dozen breaths, all anomalies disappeared, and a wisp of silver fla ignited at the center of Chu Zhihe’s brow.

At this mont, dressed in a purple gown, her skin fairer than snow, with moonlight blazing like a fla at her brow, she no longer looked like a woman over fifty, but rather like a Fairy stepping out of a painting.

Qi Zhiyuan stared blankly at her, as if transported back to his younger days. Back then, the younger sister was just as beautiful, always glued by his side, always calling him Brother Yuan.

"Qi Zhiyuan, no matter how profound your power, you can’t stop ."

Chu Zhihe’s cold words snapped Qi Zhiyuan out of his mories. He brought his left index and ring fingers together, stroking the center of his brow, where a wisp of fla ignited at his fingertip.

Chu Zhihe gestured, and the Qinghe Sword fell into her palm. With a swipe of her left hand’s sword fingers, a layer of silver fla imdiately burned upon the Immortal Sword.

"Younger sister, are you seriously going to use the Forbidden Technique against ?"

Qi Zhiyuan stood where he was, slightly stunned, just dumbly looking at Chu Zhihe, "After all these years of camaraderie, you’re actually going to use a Forbidden Technique against ?"

Seeing his look of agonized disbelief, ripples stirred in Chu Zhihe’s heart, but soon a red glow shone within her Primordial Spirit, evoking the figure of that young man in her mind.

Taking a deep breath, she erased all stray thoughts, "Qi Zhiyuan, I’m aware of your kindness, but I have my own choices. You cannot replace , nor stop ."

"Back then, it was a choice you personally made, but what ca of it?" Qi Zhiyuan’s hair, white and sowhat disheveled, draped over his shoulders. His expression was filled with sorrow, his eyes already red.

"All these years, have you ever had a single day of happiness? How are you any different from a widow?"

"Moreover, you suffered a mana backlash because of . I can’t just stand by and watch you walk into a pit of fire."

At the end, he almost scread hysterically.

But Chu Zhihe rely raised her sword coldly, her frosty Sword Blade reflecting her profile, "I’ll say it one last ti, get out of the way!"

Qi Zhiyuan looked at her, there is no greater sorrow than a dead heart.

He knew that once Chu Zhihe entered the Brocade Palace, falling into the hands of that libertine Young Master Wushuang, it would be a dire outco.

Just the thought that the woman he loved all his life would end up kneeling before Yi Wushuang, becoming a plaything, caused him unbearable pain.

And yet...

Chu Zhihe had employed the Forbidden Technique, known as the True Yin Fire, causing a moonbeam from the Nine Heavens to descend, igniting her own Essence, Qi, and Spirit, thereby unleashing power far beyond her cultivation.

Once this technique is executed, it first burns mana, then blood and Qi, and finally the Divine Soul, until the soul is scattered and turned to dust.

If Qi Zhiyuan continued to oppose Chu Zhihe, it would only make the True Yin Fire within her burn even more fiercely.

That would an... forcing her to her death!

"If... you truly end up in that fate, I’d rather kill you myself, and then, die alongside you." Qi Zhiyuan’s eyes were bloodshot, and unwittingly, a length of red string had wound around his fingertips.

Chu Zhihe’s face turned completely cold. With the moonlit flas blazing on her blade, it tore through the gale, slashing toward Qi Zhiyuan’s chest like a piercing moonbeam.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Originally shapeless and formless, the Matchmaker’s Red String spell, in Qi Zhiyuan’s hand, rged with that thread of moonlight, turning invisible into visible, binding the long sword like an actual rope.

Yet, he didn’t stop there. His left hand flicked out another length of red string, curling towards Chu Zhihe’s body.

Chu Zhihe’s purple dress fluttered as she rapidly retreated, but the red string seed to have determined its target, pursuing her faster and faster.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

The string deftly entwined her hands, feet, and waist, firmly binding her in place, unable to move.

Yet, she was not the slightest bit panicked, only the flas at the center of her brow burned ever brighter. Her complexion gradually paled, and as ti passed, even her skin began to turn sowhat translucent.

Qi Zhiyuan’s heart trembled, clenching his teeth, he shouted, "Are you truly insane? Will you not stop the True Yin Fire even now? Do you truly wish to be burned alive?"
