After she explained to , we walked forward, traveling across the cold winds of the mountain into the Northern Lands.
We were majorly here because this was where White Feather was leading us to. She and her daughter shared a spiritual kinship that transcended distance. And this kinship was sothing not even many people were aware of.
So, regardless of the distance in the world, she could tell where her daughter was. Which of course had made the journey straightforward.
"We even crossed the continent! What exactly is this person we’re pursuing thinking of? What does he hope to achieve in the Northern Reaches of Solarium!"
Gilbert vented. To be honest, he seed duly frustrated, much more than was required if I’d say.
And he hadn’t said a thing about his ship that crashed into the mountain. Well, not his ship anyway. But he had not said anything about it.
The journey was nothing perilous. We were rely just being assaulted by the ruthless fangs of the raging cold that sank deep into our skins and seed to be freezing even the blood.
Even White Feather, whose body was mostly composed of spiritual material, was not spared from the wickedness of this weather.
It was then that I had learnt that even Spirits could feel intense cold, they also had to be capable of feeling intense heat too. My mind went back to that ti at Atherre, at the Complex, the flas must have threatened Kassie as much as they threatened and slaughtered everyone but she didn’t care about it.
’Or sothing like a fla is way beyond her.’
Thinking about her, while I wanted to summon her, I figured it was good that I allowed her to rest in the Nave. We were on a very peaceful journey and could need her anyti.
When the dusk settled and darkness embraced the vast land, enabling the wrath of the cold, we sought for shelter in a shallow cave. Where I summoned flas both at the entrance and in the center and ward everyone up.
Gilbert summoned a strange backpack and pulled out so packaged at from it. He tore open the paperbag packaging and brought several sticks of preserved steak, sharing them between White Feather and .
White Feather stared at the stick with a strange expression.
While Gilbert gave her a small glare.
"What? I suppose soone as esteed as you had never had to eat sothing so cheap?"
She continued to stare at the steak, ignoring Gilbert.
I examined mine and stretched it to the fla, letting the fire roast it a little. Amidst that, White Feather spoke.
"I have not eaten... nor have I felt the need to do so?"
She said, slowly raising her head to look at with a dazed expression.
I returned the look, blinked and shrugged with a small awkward smile.
"Well, I guess you’re getting enough essence then..."
Since the context of the conversation was questionable, I tried to be as vague as possible, leaving the rest to Gilbert’s imagination.
At the sa ti, I studied White Feather with a keen observation.
’I guess, she’s very much a spirit now, and that’s how spirits work.’
Kassie didn’t need to eat, Spirit Essence was enough food for her but it wasn’t like she wouldn’t be able to if she tried. For one, she ate Odelia’s food quite a lot in Los Arcos.
’No surprise...’
I turned to my own as I heard a crispy sound, I withdrew my hand and took a bite. Imdiately, my palate exploded with multiple flavors.
’Ohh... this is quite nice.’
I turned to White Feather, gesturing with the at and speaking while chewing.
"Byoui shwood twry thisshh... shooo nyishh."
She exhaled.
"Finish chewing before speaking, Lord Cade."
I grinned and continued. White Feather turned to the steak and finally took a bite.
anwhile, Gilbert ate in silence, staring at the flas. He looked like he was questioning the point of life in general.
After eating, Gilbert naturally went to sleep, while White Feather insisted that I go to sleep and she would keep watch through the night.
Since she was a Spirit, she couldn’t be bothered by not having to sleep. For though, she believed I had spent the past one day fighting a terrifying flying darkness in its soul.
’The irony of it is so debilitating...’
I was grateful and was able to catch a long sleep. I didn’t know how much I needed that sleep until she suggested that I took it.
After a long, cold and peaceful night, I woke up with the extrely bright light of the sky flooding everywhere. At the entrance of the cave, stood a graceful figure, her white robes flowing backward. Her silk white hair also danced in the wind.
I turned to the side, Gilbert was still asleep, curled up like a little child. I sighed and stood up and walked over to White Feather, slipping my hands through her waist and holding her flat tummy, my jaw slid in through her shoulder and rested there.
The blinding brilliance of the northern lands instinctively pushed my eyes closed for a mont then they fluttered opened as they adjusted.
"Lord Cade..."
While she wanted to move away, I held her in place.
"Stay... like this. Just for a mont."
She stood still, a little too still maybe. I was probably just registering it now, but she had sowhat been avoiding being close to since the day we got intimate.
’Do I have to use Summoner’s Touch, everyti?’
The answer was Yes and No.
My summons or Spirits generally enjoyed it better when I touched them, so it was inevitable that I use the touch to give them a satisfying sexual intercourse. At the sa ti, it didn’t need to be the reason they decide to give their body to .
The problem just so happens that aside from Lira, every woman I’ve had sothing were was so complicated that a second ti seed next to impossible.
From Nisha’s strange behavior, to Kassie’s terror, Maggie wasn’t even a topic and now, White Feather was using the status between the two of us to subtly drive herself further.
’How tiring... is fucking so excellent won supposed to be so difficult?’
Perhaps the problem was just my taste.
Suddenly, White Feather shuddered, her eyes widened and shook frantically.
Instantly, I pulled back and held her slender shoulders with gentle care.
"White Feather, what’s going on?"
Her eyes were still wide open and her face pale.
"I-I... I can’t feel her anymore."
Her petrified look slowly turned to .
"I can’t sense my baby girl anymore."
