"I never thought you would be this afraid of , old man!" Olana's face dropped her playful act, and in the blink of an eye, a serious look appeared on her face, one suited to a businesswoman.
"I'm just fearing for you, sweet little princess," Moth had his face covered by the black suit, and yet Hye could imagine an evil look over there. It was clear to Hye what Moth was trying to do. He was pushing for Hye to try and take Olana by force, ending up facing lots of trouble.
Hye knew Moth didn't eye him as an enemy, but as a rival. And treating rivals always was way more dangerous than handling enemies!
"You're speaking as if he will let go if I wanted," Olana rolled her eyes, "I had a vague feeling about it before, but after eting with you and seeing how you persist in letting retreat, I'm now sure I can't get away from him."
"Smart girl," Hye finally turned to look at Olana, winking while adding, "you can prepare yourself for a long ride away from here after we are done… That reminds , can we start our eting?"
"Sure," Moth moved his eyes between the two in front of him before clapping. The next mont, all the people who ca with him retreated, and Hye motioned for Lucas and his people to retreat a few tres.
In a few minutes, there was only Hye, Moth, and Olana, who put aside her playful look, and instead, there was a gravely serious expression on her face.
"Easy there, we don't intend to fight each other to death," Moth couldn't let Oalana alone, totally enjoying the storm she was living through.
"In the past, we would," Hye twisted the talk back on track, "we were enemies for a long ti."
"Correct, but all changed by your gesture back at the fight against the Golden Cross maniacs!"
"They are traitors," Hye expressed his true feelings, "they try to take down our universe by allying with our enemies!"
"That's true indeed," Moth paused, "yet I don't recall how many years passed since the last ti I heard such strong words from soone other than myself."
"The universe is falling apart," Hye slowly said, recalling the great chaos he witnessed in the past couple of months, "yet I'm different. I'm here not to lose myself to the chaos, I'm here to do my part right and protect our universe."
"That ans you didn't put aside our enmity on an impulse," Moth's tone showed he wasn't surprised; it felt like he got a doubt confird. "That ans you wanted to work with us, right?"
"I can't deny that," Hye pointed towards the suit Moth was wearing, "I can tell how your people take the competition with the outside universe seriously. Your suit is just evidence for that!"
"Indeed," Moth paused, as if he recalled sothing, "I believe you managed to crack the mystery behind our suits, even made a few of yours."
"Can't say I didn't," Hye softly laughed, "I can't stop myself when t with sothing advanced, practical, and effective. Just like my Soulers, but…"
"There is a limit to soone working solo to achieve, I can easily tell that part," Moth finally shone light over the real purpose of the eting, "still, I can't decide how far we can go together, how much we can support you, and to what end!"
"It's not one-way support I'm looking for," Hye knew Moth was testing him, so he didn't just stop there and started taking different samples of his bones. "I'm willing to exchange my bones with your people. I know how much you crave for these…"
"Wow! You even have types the universe didn't know about yet," Moth interrupted Hye, hurriedly grabbing the bones he took out, slowly examining them. If not for the suit covering his body and face, Hye would have seen a genuine shock over Moth's face.
"Who said these are everything?" Hye didn't let Moth off the hook, and hinted he still had more bones he hadn't taken out yet.
"This… So you have a proper thod to get these bones, a way to get different types and in large quantities!"
"I can't mass produce these as you think," Hye had to clear this point, so he wouldn't get the value of his bones lowered, "the higher the grade, the scarcer it gets, and there are two general types of bones."
Moth didn't speak for a few minutes; instead, he started to distribute the bones he got from Hye into two groups. In the end, and without Hye's intervention, he managed to group the bones into normal and dark realm bones.
"Impressive!" Hye couldn't help but mutter, "You grouped them right!"
"I studied these for a long ti already," Moth pointed towards Hye before adding, "in fact, I studied you since you first appeared in front of our people and caused that stir back then. I could tell you were special, but you managed to exceed my expectations so far!"
"How so?" Hye didn't accept the praise like how Moth wanted, instead pried over what Moth knew about him.
"For example, no one expected you to get out of your post-apocalyptic world to the universe. If my guesses are right, then you already found a base for yourself, a remarkable feat for sure!"
Hye couldn't tell if Moth said everything or kept so facts hidden, yet he could easily tell he didn't know about his new territory. He was suspecting that Hye had a base in the universe, but it was just a re suspicion.
"I already have a base," Hye didn't try to cover this fact up, against what Moth expected, "yet don't bother trying to find it, I won't expose it yet to the public."
"That ans… You aren't ready to defend it," Moth grasped what Hye didn't say, "I can't bla you. Building a strong base in the universe isn't an easy task. And I can tell you are here to make things easier for you… That ans, you expect us to trade lots of defensive materials and secrets with you, right?"
