"It’s not that I can’t act, but my body is fragile and can’t withstand injury, otherwise I will be exposed. You just said you wouldn’t stop from doing anything and are willing to do your best to exchange for clues about Heaven and Earth Spiritual Objects. Now that I’ve told you, please leave as soon as possible."
"Otherwise," Ruosheng’s eyes turned cold, "I can only fight you to the death! You are not my match!"
Jiang Yuebai swallowed nervously. She knew that at this mont, Ruosheng was prepared to perish together with all the sects of the Quicksand Domain, so he wasn’t afraid of her knowing.
And as he said, as long as he wasn’t afraid of being exposed, she was absolutely no match for him, given that Spiritual Objects have no physical form and can’t be easily killed.
Jiang Yuebai grimaced, "Can’t you be nice and give one of your arms or legs? You’re a Spiritual Object; you should be able to recover quickly, right?"
Ruosheng stared at her for a mont, "You are quite an amusing person. Even if I gave you my head, it would just be an ordinary handful of yellow sand."
Jiang Yuebai hung her head in disappointnt, "Forget it, it’s just my bad luck. I’ll try and find sowhere else. The world is vast; I refuse to believe there are no other Spiritual Objects."
Ruosheng continued to look at her, puzzled, "Just like that, you give up? Aren’t you unwilling? In this entire Quicksand Domain, many disputes and fights have arisen because of ; I’ve never seen soone like you give up so easily."
Jiang Yuebai was frustrated, "What else can I do? Should I pin you down and eat you? I can’t be sure of capturing you, and I don’t want to risk my life for it, and I’m not ready to cross the line of eating people yet."
"The best plan now is to give up temporarily, focus on cultivation, and if after a couple of years I can’t find other Spiritual Objects, I’ll co back and check again. By then, for the sake of my cultivation path, I might convince myself to kill you, or have my master co and kill you."
Her fierce words made Ruosheng laugh, a rare mont of amusent.
Jiang Yuebai, however, felt like crying when he laughed, feeling aggrieved that she had wasted the past half a year.
"Stop laughing! I really might get angry and kill you!"
BOOM!
A rumble ca from the distant sky. Jiang Yuebai and Ruosheng rushed to the broken wall and saw a massive golden screen in the sky explode with dazzling flas, as shouts of battle rose to the heavens.
"Is it the Martial Sect attacking?" Jiang Yuebai asked.
Ruosheng’s expression was serious, "Leave. These events have nothing to do with you, don’t get involved. Head north, wait by the Kongque River for ten days, and I will try to... leave an arm for you."
At this point, regardless of her reluctance, Jiang Yuebai had no choice but to leave everything to fate.
Ruosheng led Jiang Yuebai to the northern part of the temple where the Scorpion King was already waiting. Ruosheng conjured a pot of small yellow flowers and handed them to Jiang Yuebai.
"This is a Prajna Flower I cultivated myself, consider it a parting gift."
Jiang Yuebai raised an eyebrow, "Don’t fool , I didn’t study much, but are you sure this isn’t a dandelion flower?"
"Amitabha Buddha, your realm is not sufficient."
Jiang Yuebai: ......
Ruosheng then took out two worn blue-covered thread-bound books from his robe and handed them to Jiang Yuebai.
"One is the ’Prajna Sutra’ written by my master, and the other is the Buddhist Sect’s Body Refining Cultivation Technique, ’Nine Revolutions Golden Body Technique.’ These are the last of Prajna Temple’s inheritances. Should you encounter a monk with a Wisdom Root in the future, please pass them on for my master."
The sound of explosions continued without pause, the ground shook incessantly, and a storm blew in, burying everything under yellow sand.
Jiang Yuebai bit her lip, finally unable to hold back, "I know it’s not sensible to advise others without knowing their suffering, but hatred shouldn’t be all there is in life. Can’t you wait a little longer?"
"Let them fight among themselves; you don’t have to stain your hands with blood. Don’t you want to see the wider world beyond the Quicksand Domain? If you’re willing, I can take you to my sect and find my master to help you."
Ruosheng shook his head, "Those who recite scriptures daily under the Bodhi Tree are my everything. This Prajna Temple is my entire world. If I could let go, why would I endure a hundred years of suffering to reach this point? Before we part, can you tell your real na and origin? Consider it making a friend at the end of my life."
Jiang Yuebai held the flower pot, looked into Ruosheng’s beautiful eyes, and sighed, "Heavenly Interence Sect, Jiang Yuebai."
A fleeting, almost imperceptible light passed through Ruosheng’s eyes as he greeted her with a single hand in a Buddhist gesture, "Amitabha Buddha, take care, and I also hope you will have less compassion in the future; it may not yield good results."
It was the first ti Jiang Yuebai had encountered soone who didn’t encourage virtue, and it was a monk on top of it.
Without saying much more, Ruosheng had the Scorpion King take Jiang Yuebai away.
