There is an awkward pause between the two of them as they just stare at each other, the lady now wondering why the young man appears to be all the more defensive against her right now.
It took her a mont to realize what she just said.
"I... just realized the kind of misunderstanding one can have because of what I just said..." She clears her throat with a fake cough as she begins explaining what she really ant with that offer, the wariness in Novus’ eyes beginning to lessen as he hears her next words.
"Since you know , you should know our family’s unique magic, right? I was sort of interested since your physique looks like it can handle our magic really well~" she pauses for a while, scanning the freshman’s body in admiration as she nods in satisfaction before she continues her words.
"That’s when I got the idea, instead of just wondering whether you can handle it or not, why not see it for myself? Spend so ti learning the concepts of Blade Enchantnt Magic with , then I’ll consider carrying your score for this exam," she explained as if she were talking about doing nothing too significant at all; however, should anyone else from a prominent family hear her words, they will be completely shocked by its implication.
There is, however, no need to find another person from a known family to hear her words to understand the aning of it all, as Novus himself cos from a prominent family as well, just like the Heavenblade Great Clan. The nature of the Argenta Family’s existence is sothing that most, if not all, the people of the world know of.
Unique Magic.
It is a manner of interpretation of mana independent from the classical elental system that every mage knows of, so of them being weaker than said classical system, while so, for example, the Blade Enchantnt Magic of the lady’s family, greatly surpass the power of the classical system, if mastered fully, that is.
To the outside world, this kind of magic is considered rare and, quite possibly, to so families, even sacred, as this very thod remains one of the major reasons why a group can rise above all else, being capable of what others cannot, hence creating a superiority over the diocre crowd.
And for the eldest daughter of the Heavenblade Great Clan to say that she is willing to teach soone outside of the family regarding their unique magic is such an absurd thing to hear, as it is just like soone practically saying "Hey, I will give my family heirloom to you" to a complete stranger, they don’t even know whether a friend or a foe.
"Senior dea, you understand what you’re saying, right?" in disbelief hearing sothing like this from who is possibly the closest to the seat of the Heavenblade Family’s future heir, Novus couldn’t help but massage his temple from the confusion and stress as he asked, that previously wary manner he deals with her still there, but no longer shown in the surface as he feels like she doesn’t seem to be as hostile as he had initially imagined.
"Why would I not understand it?" the upperclassman tilted her head in confusion as she asked, looking at the young man like soone who doesn’t understand common sense for a while before it finally snaps to her once again.
"Is it because I’m teaching you Blade Enchantnt Magic?" she asked, finally realizing what made him ask a question like that, her question then being answered by a single nod from the junior in front of her.
"Pfft~~ fufu~~ ahahah~~~" Seeing such a serious look as he replies, she couldn’t stop herself from laughing to herself while keeping herself looking refined, lifting her arms to cover her mouth with the sleeves of her coat as her eyes turned crescent from the genuine laughter that lasted for quite a while before she finally managed to calm herself down.
All this happens as Novus just lets her be, waiting for this upperclassman to finally compose herself to continue her explanation. He sees no point in asking her why she is laughing, as he is pretty certain that she will just explain it later.
"Ah, looks like I really picked the right junior to carry this ti, huh? Is it because you’re an Argenta? Other students dismiss you as either a diocre individual if not a complete failure, but that doesn’t seem to be the case at all~~~"
She remarked with certainty, taking a good glance at the serious, but nevertheless calm expression on this junior’s face, despite hiding it deep underneath his eyes, she could still see the sharp light of extre confidence in her eyes.
Partnered with how he dealt with her previous attack, along with the "healing magic" that she witnessed with the wound from her attack recovering in matters of monts, the eldest daughter of the Heavenblade Great Clan couldn’t help but feel more and more certain, this junior of hers is a wolf in sheep’s clothing, waiting for the most opportune mont to bare his fangs and bury it deep underneath the fattest lamb there is.
"You’re overthinking it, Senior dea. I am as diocre as people say I am." Dismissing dea’s claims, Novus retorted with a shrug of his shoulders, thinking that pushing her positive image of him away would sohow allow him to get out of this situation as fast as he could.
It is quite ironic. He has such extensive experience when it cos to combat and experintation regarding his thods on combat, but even then, he so extrely lacks in understanding the mind of a lady like the one in front of him. Despite the clear hardheadedness that he observed, he still fails to realize sothing.
That right now, this lady will stop at nothing to get what she wants.
"Hmm~~ is that so?" With her other hand now drifting away from her blade’s poml, going backwards all the way to its scabbard, her thumb gently caressing the hilt, she asked with a gentle voice, receiving yet another nod as a reply from the junior in front of her.
"I see... alright then~" she continued as she received his reply, the slight tone of dejection in her voice making Novus feel a bit guilty for completely turning her down like that, but more than that, he felt relieved as he doesn’t want to reveal anymore of his secrets, the fact that he is capable of supernaturally fast healing already sothing that this lady is well aware of.
’It’s a good thing she doesn’t seem to put too much attention to it, perhaps she just assud I learned a little bit of Healing Magic as well...’ he added in his mind, perfectly guessing that thought that goes on dea’s mind regarding her assumption of his extrely fast healing.
Despite guessing this right, though, there’s no reality in that he could’ve guessed what she had done next.
The moon is in its fullest state that night, but there is another crescent moon forming from just between the two of them, a sharp, silver blade drawing in the reflection of the moon, forming an arc that should’ve been perfect had it not been interrupted mid-swing by the more masculine one of the two.
"That’s twice already, Senior dea."
"That’s not sothing a diocre person can block, Junior Novus~~"
