It wasn’t just the opponent. Even the mbers of Thunderlight Hall were baffled. They had all gradually realized that Wang ng was strong, but no one knew the true source of his strength...
Control? Magic? ’It’s all too vague...’
"Could it be the Thunder Ancestor Master?" Hex Ziyuan muttered.
It had to be. No wonder Ancestor Master Lei kept seeking out Wang ng. Everyone had thought it was for forging, but it turned out his real purpose was to teach him Power Cultivation Skills.
Thunderlight Hall’s Body Cultivators were about to make a coback! It turned out Wang ng’s true strength wasn’t as a Pill Cultivator or a Sword Cultivator, but as a Body Cultivator—Thunderlight Hall’s traditional specialty!
Amid the confused gazes and hushed whispers of the entire audience, Gang Lian struggled in vain to free his head.
Tang Wei let out a hearty laugh. "Fine skills, Elder Wang, but wasn’t that a bit too ruthless?"
He signaled for his disciples to go and pull Gang Lian out, a move that both belittled Gang Lian and took a stab at Wang ng.
Wang ng glanced at Tang Wei. "Jade cannot be polished without carving. Since he addressed respectfully as an Elder, it was only natural for to instruct him in the manner of an Elder. Being strict with him is for his own good!"
With a single sentence, Wang ng turned it right back on them. If they were going to use his status as an Elder to pick a fight, then they couldn’t bla him for using that sa status to teach a lesson.
When Gang Lian was pulled free, his entire body was limp. Wang ng’s strike had hit his Vital Point, nearly shattering it. Unable to summon a shred of strength, he was carried away like a limp noodle.
If sothing had truly happened to Hu Jing, Wang ng wouldn’t have hesitated to kill him.
"Damn, Brother ng, when did you learn the offensive techniques of a Body Cultivator? That was so aweso!"
Zhang Xiaojiang and the others imdiately rushed over. Wang ng smiled faintly. "All thods are fundantally the sa. It’s just a matter of how you use your Elental Power."
To the many Body Cultivators of Hengshan Hall, those words were dripping with sarcasm, but on the Thunderlight Hall side, thunderous applause erupted.
Hengshan Hall’s constant provocations had finally stirred the viciousness within Wang ng, prompting him to use a Body Cultivation technique to give them a taste of their own dicine.
Hong Pan had already recovered from his brief excitent and cald down. He was certain that Thunderbolt was the one pulling the strings behind the scenes. Rumor had it this boy possessed exceptional talent and had attracted the favor of several Ancestral Masters. Hong Pan had assud it was just talk, but it appeared to be true after all.
During that last exchange, every one of Wang ng’s blocks was actually the result of concentrating his Elental Power. When defending, he focused his Elental Power into his arms; when attacking, that Elental Power would then detonate from a single point.
It was just that no one else could concentrate their limited Elental Power into a single point the way he did. Such efficiency in using Elental Power was rare even among the Body Cultivator Elders.
Wang ng walked over to Hu Jing. Liuu i and Ma Tian’Er had already given her a Heart-Protecting Pill, but their faces were still etched with worry. In truth, neither Ma Tian’Er’s nor Liuu i’s temperant was suited for combat.
Gazing at Hu Jing’s pale face, Wang ng felt an uncharacteristic pang of compassion.
Whether in this life or his last, he had always believed in the supremacy of strength. He was constantly pressing forward, never stopping. Setbacks and injuries were inevitable on such a path, but he had always been alone, so he’d never felt this way before.
He suppressed the strange feeling in his heart. "Little Jing, are you alright?"
A smile touched Hu Jing’s pale face. "It’s just a minor injury... It’s a sha I lost."
Wang ng shook his head gently. "Just leave the rest to us."
"Jingjing, don’t worry! I’ll get revenge for you! I’ll definitely crush that guy’s..."
A sharp glare from Liuu i made Zhang Xiaopang shut his mouth just in ti, but the fury on his face was unmistakable.
Gang Lian’s second strike had clearly been intended to seriously injure her; otherwise, Hu Jing wouldn’t be in such a state. The outco of the match had already been clear.
"Brother ng, you went too easy on him. If it were , I would’ve stomped his head in!"
Zhang Xiaojiang said.
"Don’t worry. Sotis, being alive isn’t much better than being dead."
Wang ng said coolly. That blow had landed on his Vital Point; that was Gang Lian’s punishnt.
Both sides took a short break. Seeing Gang Lian’s condition, Huang Feng was seething with rage, but he also felt a deep sense of caution.
He had watched clearly from below. Every one of Wang ng’s movents was ruthless and precise. It was definitely the ability of a Power Cultivator, and he was incredibly skilled, as if he had been practicing for many years. Only with such mastery could soone unleash the full potential of the Fifteenth Layer of Elental Power.
Although Gang Lian was at the Nineteenth Layer, a great deal of his Elental Power would dissipate between throwing a punch and the mont of impact. But when Wang ng threw a punch, not a shred of Elental Power was lost; the entirety of his Fifteenth-Layer power exploded at the point of contact.
What terrifying Control Power. Only a battle-hardened veteran could achieve such a high efficiency with their Elental Power. This also explained how Wang ng had managed to sweep through his previous opponents. Even though he only had the power of the Fifteenth Layer, he could utilize it to its absolute peak, minimizing any wasteful loss.
’This is horrifying. How in the world did this kid cultivate!’
’If this is natural talent, then damn, it’s the kind of talent that makes you want to just give up.’
Surprisingly, Tang Wei managed to remain composed. To him, Gang Lian winning one round only to be ruthlessly put in his place was the best possible outco. Since the boy already showed signs of rebellion, he was of no use to him anymore.
"Huang Feng, the third match is yours. You and Gang Lian are like brothers, so I don’t need to tell you what to do. I just checked Gang Lian’s aura... I’m afraid he’s crippled for life."
If Tang Wei had said nothing, it might have been better. His words only stoked Huang Feng’s fury. He shot a venomous glare toward the Thunderlight Hall disciples and stepped into the arena.
"Huang Feng! Who dares to face !"
Zhang Xiaojiang could no longer hold back. "I don’t care if your na is Wasp or Hornet! I’ll blast you to pieces!"
"Tell him... to be careful," Hu Jing managed to say. It seed the intel they’d gathered before the tournant was accurate. Both Gang Lian and Huang Feng were experts who had returned from the outside world, and they possessed a much more murderous aura. A mont of carelessness against them would lead to severe injury, if not death.
"Don’t worry. You should rest. I’ll go watch."
Wang ng walked to the edge of the stage as Zhang Xiaojiang leaped onto it.
Thunderlight Hall and Hengshan Hall were now tied at one-all. The morale Gang Lian had built with his victory was shattered by his own humiliating defeat. Fortunately, they still had his point, so it wasn’t a total waste.
Huang Feng possessed an eerie, effeminate beauty. "Little Fatty, I’m going to show you what it ans to wish for death but be unable to die!"
"Deadman Demon! You and that big oaf have a thing going on, don’t you!"
Zhang Xiaopang’s verbal jab was incredibly sharp.
Fury blazed in Huang Feng’s eyes as he charged at Zhang Xiaojiang.
And it had to be said, Huang Feng really did have an effeminate air about him, and his choice of weapon was also highly unusual for a Body Cultivator.
A cold glint of light shot toward Zhang Xiaojiang.
Zhang Xiaopang jumped in fright and hastily dodged, but a bloody gash was still carved across his forehead. If he had been a fraction of a second slower, it would have pierced right through his skull.
That glint of cold light was a needle.
The tail of the needle was attached to a transparent, specially-made silver thread.
This was Huang Feng’s weapon: the Wasp Needle. It was nearly impossible to defend against. Outside of the competition, he would coat it with poison, making it a truly lethal instrunt of death. In the Holy Hall’s grand tournant, however, poison was strictly forbidden.
Because his weapon was so insidious, and because his physique wasn’t that of a typical Body Cultivator, he absolutely loathed it when people made an issue of it. Zhang Xiaopang hadn’t just prodded a sore spot; he had twisted the knife in the most vicious way possible. (To be continued.
