After the academy test, Wang ng’s life didn’t change. He continued training at his own pace. Regarding the invitations from Hex Zui and Mu Ziqing, he stuck to his old ways unless sothing special ca up. He didn’t care what they thought; life would be impossible if he had to worry about everyone’s opinions.
As for his duties at the Alchemy Institute, his term was already up, but Wang ng continued with the job. Mi Dao certainly didn’t mind. Wang ng was a diligent worker and, unlike the other Stewards, never complained about poor treatnt or anything of the sort.
Wang ng enjoyed the quiet. At night, he had free use of the Alchemy Institute’s instructional Array, completely undisturbed. Whenever he wanted to try sothing, he could use the Alchemy Room at any ti. All he had to do in return was a bit of cleaning—it was an absolute bargain.
There was another reason: Wang ng had made a friend. It was the woman who would show up from ti to ti. Wang ng hadn’t asked for her na, and she hadn’t asked for his. They would just exchange a few words whenever they t.
As usual, Wang ng diligently cleaned the Alchemy Room before entering the instructional Array to study Alchemy Skill. To surpass Moo Shan, he had to know more than him. It now seed that Moo Shan’s understanding of Alchemy Skill was only surface-level. Wang ng had to learn all of this from the very beginning. He didn’t know when it might be useful, but having extra skills was never a burden.
"Heh, you’re always so serious."
Wang ng looked up at the woman before him. ’It’s usually easier to find fault with beautiful won, but the more he looked at her, the more captivating her aura beca.’
"The slow bird has to start flying early," Wang ng said.
The woman couldn’t help but let out a little laugh. After laughing, she seed a bit unused to it herself. "Are you really slow?"
"Actually, I’m a classic case of ’great wisdom appearing as foolishness.’ Other people just haven’t figured it out yet."
Busy with his cultivation, he rarely had the chance for such a lighthearted chat, and it stirred a playful mood in him. ’Back in the Holy Hall,’ he reminisced, ’I used to shoot the shit with Zhang Xiaojiang and the guys every day. Now *that* was the life.’
The woman couldn’t help but smile faintly. "Have you joined a faction yet?"
"Nope." Wang ng stood up and stretched, revealing his nearly perfect muscle definition.
His muscles weren’t overly bulky, but one could sense the power contained within them.
The tempering of his Heart Spirit, combined with his relentless, daily practice of his Cultivation Technique, was gradually bringing about changes. Over the past year or so, it was likely that no one had been more focused than Wang ng.
"Oh, that’s unusual. Are you interested in joining one?"
"Not really. Why is everyone so interested in this stuff, anyway?" Wang ng shrugged helplessly.
"This... ’stuff,’ heh heh. It really is a rather uninteresting thing." The woman smiled faintly, seeming much more relaxed.
After saying that, the woman left. By now, they didn’t even bother with goodbyes. Wang ng had grown accustod to her unpredictable nature. He tidied up the Alchemy Room and wrapped up his duties at the Alchemy Institute for the day.
「Battle Space.」
Wang ng was back to stir up so trouble. Only this ti, he didn’t initiate a random match. Instead, he issued a challenge.
The na "Master" was now quite famous in the Battle Space. His signature Curved Sword Qi was still undefeated, which was more than enough to pique the interest of other challengers.
Weaker cultivators struggled desperately for their win rates, while the strong sought ways to grow even stronger through battle.
Without a doubt, soone like Master, with his highly specialized style, was perfect for others to practice against.
In the eyes of many, Master was like the Tang Monk. And now, it was as if the Tang Monk himself had announced, "Alright, you monsters, it’s my treat today. Who’s available?"
Just a few minutes after Wang ng issued the challenge, the Battle Space reacted. PING! PING! PING!
Wang ng’s Star Ring began flashing nonstop. Random matches didn’t allow for choices, especially regarding Elental Power levels, but challenges were a different story.
Row after row of nas appeared in Wang ng’s field of vision. Waiting in the Battle Space, he had been worried that no one would want to fight him. He hadn’t expected so many enthusiastic people. Wang ng couldn’t help but feel a little moved. ’The atmosphere at the Cultivation Academy is really great,’ he thought. ’Everyone’s so eager.’
Moo Shan and Wangtian had provided Wang ng with the best possible experience, allowing him to understand every thod of cultivation. But ultimately, all of it was in service of the sword.
Among all forms of attack, the sword was the one and only path. But... that was easier said than done. With his Five Elents Physique, mastering the magic of Talisman Cultivators and Bow Cultivators, or using a Body Cultivation Technique, was no problem for Wang ng—this had been proven back in the Holy Hall. However, these forms of Magic were all isolated.
Wang ng chose his opponent.
What Wang ng didn’t know was that many people were waiting in the void, anticipating his choice. Who would he pick?
ngg Fu, from the Great Qin Small Thousand World, Talisman Fighting Sect, Elental Power above the Thirtieth Layer.
So far, Master had only ever displayed an Elental Power level at the Twentieth Layer. In the Great Yuan Realm, where Magic reigned supre, it wasn’t impossible for soone at the Twentieth Layer to defeat soone at the Twenty-Ninth Layer. But the Thirtieth Layer was an entirely different realm.
Did Master get naive after a few wins???
Even ngg Fu himself found it a bit hard to believe. He had only accepted the challenge on a whim, not expecting this "Master" to actually have the guts.
Frankly, ngg Fu admired him!
The two appeared on the Dueling Platform.
Wang ng needed a powerful Talisman Cultivator. Inside his Sea of Fate, Wang ng could only play the role of a Talisman Cultivator himself to fight against Moo Shan, and he’d been utterly crushed every ti. As a Sword Cultivator, Wang ng wanted to try breaking a real Talisman Array with his sword.
ngg Fu looked at the Master before him and couldn’t help but smile. "You’ve got a lot of guts. I admire that."
ngg Fu let out a self-deprecating laugh. His opponent was using an anonymous handle and wouldn’t show any emotion at all. ’I’m just talking to myself,’ he thought.
