Wei Yan thought for a mont, then turned to look at Xu Yuan.
“Did President Chen say anything to you just now?”
“President Chen just randomly praised for sothing, didn’t say much else. Then you showed up, Manager Wei.”
Xu Yuan scratched his head, still looking puzzled.
President Chen had just promoted him to Supervisor. Xu Yuan had wanted to thank him properly after they finished talking, but President Chen had walked off right after speaking, not giving him any chance to respond.

“I was just watching this ani. You know, Manager Wei, with all the characters we’ve added to the ga, I figured I’d watch so ani for inspiration.”
“Manager Wei, I wasn’t slacking off, I swear!”
Wei Yan’s eyes landed on the tablet. He reached out and resud the paused video.

The screen ca alive with two teams locked in battle. Each character unleashed their abilities, the effects dazzling and intense.
The ani featured agile assassins, frontline warriors, mages… and more.
The combat style in the ani bore a resemblance to their own Turn-based Ga.
In their ga, there were also mages, assassins, and support roles, each with their own unique skill sets.
But in the Turn-based Ga, it was just card-based characters attacking each other. It lacked the dynamic, back-and-forth thrill of the ani’s fight scenes.

A lightbulb went off in Wei Yan’s head. Could it be that President Chen was hinting at transforming their Turn-based Ga into sothing more like this—free-form combat?

He’d played quite a few Turn-based Gas recently, and honestly, they all felt the sa. The core gaplay barely differed. The only real variations were in character models and skill effects.
That’s why President Chen kept emphasizing innovation—he didn’t want them to follow the sa old formula.
But for nearly a month now, they hadn’t made any real breakthroughs. The only thing they’d done differently was create a bunch of card decks.
Then today, President Chen happened to walk in and see Xu Yuan watching this ani. He must’ve thought Xu Yuan was planning to evolve the Turn-based Ga into sothing with more dynamic, free-flowing combat.
That’s why President Chen promoted Xu Yuan to Supervisor on the spot.
Wei Yan nodded slowly to himself, eyes gleaming with excitent, as if he’d seen through everything.
None understand President Chen like I do—only Wei Yan.
“Call the project team. We’re having a eting in the conference room.”

Xu Yuan watched the suddenly energized Manager Wei, completely baffled. He had no idea what had gotten him so worked up.
Still, orders were orders. He didn’t dare delay. He imdiately called the studio staff to gather in the conference room.

Everyone took their seats, but confusion was written all over their faces. No one knew why they’d been summoned so suddenly.
Normally, etings were announced an hour or two in advance.
This kind of urgency was a first.

The door opened again, and Wei Yan strode in briskly.

Wei Yan looked around at the team and cleared his throat.
“Before we begin, I have an announcent. Starting today, Xu Yuan is officially the Supervisor of our project team. Let’s give him a round of applause.”

The applause started off scattered, then gradually beca more enthusiastic.
Wei Yan scanned the room. A few senior employees clapped half-heartedly, clearly unhappy. He took note.
“Everyone here has seen Xu Yuan’s work ethic lately. He’s taken on a lot of responsibility for our project team. Yes, he’s new—but he’s done more than many of the veterans.”
“So if you’re feeling upset about him becoming Project Supervisor, don’t be. I know so of you are more technically skilled than Xu Yuan, but if you don’t show it, what can I do?”
“And one more thing I want to emphasize.”
“Xu Yuan has my full support—and more importantly, he was personally promoted by President Chen. If you’re not convinced, then prove yourselves. This company has a bright future. If you’ve got the skills and the courage to show them, you won’t be overlooked.”
“But let be clear—starting today, if anyone refuses to follow Xu Yuan’s lead or tries to sabotage him behind the scenes…”
“I’d better not find out. But if I do, don’t expect to go easy on you. You’ll be out of this company.”
“I want a team that works together, not one that’s constantly scheming against each other. President Chen gives you all great benefits—not so you can play politics, but so you can do your jobs well.”
Wei Yan spoke slowly and firmly, his tone deadly serious.
The mont he saw those few disgruntled senior staff, he knew he had to say this.
He’d been in business for years. Office politics were unavoidable.
But he didn’t want that in his team. So he laid it all out. And he wasn’t bluffing—if anyone really tried to stir up trouble out of jealousy, he wouldn’t hesitate to act.
He believed the company’s generous compensation would be enough to keep people’s envy and resentnt in check.
After all, once you leave this company, good luck finding another one that treats you this well.
The conference room fell silent.
Everyone was stunned by Wei Yan’s serious expression. No one had expected the usually easygoing Manager Wei to ever look so stern.
Xu Yuan, on the other hand, was deeply moved. It was clear that Manager Wei was doing this to help him.
Wei Yan waited quietly for a mont, then suddenly broke into a smile.
“I may have co off a bit harsh just now, but I wanted to set expectations upfront. I hope you all take it to heart.”

“First, all previous ga plans are scrapped. Today, we’re going to co up with a brand-new proposal. I want everyone to contribute actively. The project team still needs four Team Leaders, so take that into consideration.”
“But don’t worry—I’ll give you a direction to work from. You can build your ideas around that.”
