Chapter 298: Private Screening at the Cinema

Not long after—

There was a knock at the office door.

Soon, Wei Yan walked in with two young n, both of whom were eyeing Chen Mo with curiosity.

“President Chen, this is Chen Cong from Sky Pavilion Ga Club. And this is Mr. Du, Du Ziteng.”

Wei Yan stepped forward to introduce them.

“Mm, please, have a seat.”

Chen Mo gestured toward the sofa in the lounge area by the floor-to-ceiling windows and led the way over.

“Would you like tea or coffee?”

“Tea is fine, no need to go to any trouble.”

Chen Cong smiled as he sat down on the sofa, glancing around the office and unable to hide his amazent.

He’d already been stunned by the office the mont he stepped in.

His first impression: huge. Second: expensive.

Even his dad’s office didn’t feel this extravagant.

“So, what brings you both to Cangxue Gas today?”

Chen Mo asked casually once they were seated.

At the sa ti, Wei Yan had finished preparing the tea and poured a cup for each of them.

Chen Cong accepted the tea with a smile and said, “We’re here on business. Our Sky Pavilion Ga Club is hosting an offline tournant for Extre Survival, and we’ve chosen Jiang City as the venue.”

“To give the event a more official feel, we’ve partnered with Cangxue Gas. Today, we’re here to film a short promotional video.”

“Once the tournant starts, we’ll play the video during breaks in the live stream. That way, viewers can learn more about Cangxue Gas, see what the daily work life of your employees is like, and understand the environnt where Extre Survival was created.”

“And for us, it helps show that the tournant has official backing.”

As Chen Cong spoke, Chen Mo’s hand paused on his teacup.

He knew it—these two weren’t here for anything good.

Offline tournant.

Promotional video.

Publicity.

He glanced coolly at the two n sitting across from him.

They just wouldn’t give him a break.

He’d barely resolved the Nanhe Coffee issue, and now Cangxue Gas was stirring up trouble.

If this tournant went ahead, Extre Survival would probably see another massive surge in players.

That had to be stopped!

But Cangxue Gas had already signed a contract with Sky Pavilion Ga Club. Sky Pavilion had the rights to host events for Cangxue Gas’ titles.

If he wanted to stop it, he’d have to unilaterally terminate the contract.

And that would an paying a penalty fee.

Another expense!

Just as Chen Mo was thinking this, his eyes suddenly lit up—he might’ve found a loophole.

If he kept signing contracts and then breaking them, he could endlessly pay penalty fees!

He could use this thod to burn through his System Funds!

That’d be way easier than racking his brain every day trying to spend money.

But just as the idea ford, the system’s voice rang out in his mind.

[Reminder: To unilaterally terminate a contract, one of the following conditions must be t—violation of law, harm to company interests, or unreasonable contract terms…]

[Current contract does not et any of the above conditions. Termination not permitted.]

Chen Mo: …………

Damn system!

It really didn’t leave a single loophole.

If he couldn’t break the contract, then the tournant would have to go ahead.

Just thinking about how Extre Survival might explode in popularity again after the event gave him a headache.

Even looking at Chen Cong and Du Ziteng sitting across from him made him feel irritated.

No—more than irritated.

Seriously, you two are rich kids. Why not just enjoy your lives? Why go through all this trouble to start a business?

Isn’t inheriting the family fortune good enough for you?

He grumbled to himself silently, but kept a calm expression and said flatly, “When does the tournant start? Are there a lot of participants?”

“We’re here now to start setting up the venue. The tournant kicks off on April 15th, and the finals will be held on April 30th. The final match will take place at the Jiangcheng Sports Arena. If you’re interested, President Chen, you’re welco to attend—we’ll reserve the best seats for you.”

“As for participants, with how popular the ga is right now, of course there’ll be a lot. Especially since the grand prize is a million yuan.”

Chen Cong replied steadily.

A million yuan prize!

When Chen Mo heard that, his mind suddenly kicked into gear.

Maybe he could host a tournant too. Make it bigger, offer a larger prize pool—that would be a great way to spend money.

He nodded to himself quietly, deciding to jot this down in his Spending Manual later.

Still, hosting a tournant ca with risks. It could easily make the ga even more popular. So this would have to be a backup plan—only to be used when he had no other options.

With that thought, Chen Mo’s mood finally lifted a little.

They chatted a bit more after that.

Chen Cong and Du Ziteng eventually got up to leave. They had originally invited him to dinner, but he declined.

Eat with them? He’d probably lose his appetite.

Back downstairs, The short video shoot had just wrapped up.

“Mr. Fang, Mr. Wei, we’ve got more work to do, so we’ll be heading off.”

Chen Cong gathered the club mbers and left Mingri Group.

Outside, he stroked his chin and said, “President Chen didn’t seem too fond of us. He was pretty cold the whole ti we talked.”

“Bosses are always like that. My dad’s the sa way—always looks like soone owes him money,” Du Ziteng said nonchalantly.

“Yeah, I guess that’s true.”

Chen Cong nodded, not taking it to heart. He turned to the group behind him and said, “Tell the others who didn’t co to et us at Tianda Plaza.”

At Tianda Plaza, the mbers of Sky Pavilion Ga Club gathered—about a dozen people in total.

Chen Cong looked at them and said, “Today, we’re taking a break. Tomorrow, those of you who need to train, get back to it. The rest of you, get to work.”

The group erupted in cheers.

He led them to a Korean BBQ restaurant in the mall.

By then, a long line had already ford outside the restaurant.

Chen Cong led the group forward, completely ignoring everyone else as they passed.

He went straight to the person in charge of the store and gave his na.

Monts later,

The manager personally led Chen Cong and his entourage into a private room that had clearly been prepared in advance.

After eating and drinking their fill, they headed straight to a movie theater.

Tianda Cinema.

“Damn, did we book out the whole place?”

One of the club mbers exclaid in surprise as they looked around the empty screening hall.

“What’s the big deal?”

Jiang Jiu shot a glance at the astonished club mber beside him. “Don’t you know? Brother Chen’s father owns Tianda. Booking out a theater is nothing.”

As a club mber, not even knowing who your boss is? That’s just embarrassing.
