The cavern buzzed with a mixture of quiet conversation and the lingering hum of celebration as Saeldir prepared to depart as well. Despite the weariness from the war, his deanor was calm and poised as he moved among the gathered people and offering parting words and invaluable guidance about how they can enhance their ability with Magic. They will need that now to nurture their land and future.

Varok and his key squad leaders stood in a small circle around him, listening intently.

With his teachings done, Saeldir placed a hand on Varok's shoulder as his gesture of respect and encouragent. Then, with a flick of his wrist and a whispered incantation, a portal shimred into existence.

Its radiant energy danced across the cavern walls, illuminating the faces of those gathered closest to them.

Saeldir stepped back, waiting patiently for Erend and Eccar to return from their eting with the elders.

---

Minutes passed, and soon, Erend and Eccar erged from the elder's chambers with somber expressions. They approached Saeldir with sa eexpression, it was as though the weight of the mont pressed on their shoulders. Together, they turned to the crowd one final ti.

The people gathered once more, their faces a mixture of gratitude and sadness.

Erend and Eccar stood in front of them, they are the three who just brought the hope the people thought already lost long ago. Silent gestures of thanks rippled through the crowd like nods, raised fists, and solemn bows. A few stepped forward and offering quiet words of farewell with voices thick with emotion.

The gratitude was overwhelming. Erend inclined his head, his hard face he wear in a battlee softening. Eccar allowed a big smile to touch his lips as he exchanged glances with those they had fought to protect.

Both Dragonborn understood the significance of this farewell. It was the end of a chapter in their shared fight for freedom.

Saeldir, standing by the glowing portal, gestured for them to approach. With one final look at the crowd, Erend and Eccar stepped forward, pausing just before entering the portal. They turned and sweeping their gazes over the people one last ti.

The crowd erupted into cheers again, their voices filled with a mixture of hope, sorrow, and deep-seated respect. Even though they just spent so little ti together, Erend and Eccar were undoubtedly their heroes.

So cried while others stood, determined to carry on the fight and hope they had given.

Erend and Eccar gave a final wave before stepping into the portal's light, their forms dissolving into its shimring depths.

Saeldir followed, his robes flowing behind him as the portal closed with a soft hum, leaving only the cavern's gentle glow.

For a long mont, silence reigned in the cavern. The crowd stood motionless while staring at the spot where the portal had been.

Finally, Varok let out a deep sigh, his shoulders heavy with both loss and determination.

He gazed at the now-empty space and murmuring to himself, "May we et again soday."

Turning back to his people, Varok's resolve solidified. They would not forget what the Dragonborn and the Elf Archmage had done for them.

He would ensure their legacy was honored. Quietly, he decided that three monunts would be erected in their mory, for Erend and Eccar, and the other for Saeldir.

They would stand as eternal reminders of the sacrifices made and the hope rekindled in their darkest hour.

As the crowd began to disperse, the cavern filled with the renewed energy of preparation.

Though the Dragonborn and Saeldir had left, their impact remained indelibly etched in the hearts of the people in this world, fueling their determination to fight for the freedom they so desperately sought.

---

Erend and Eccar stepped out of the shimring portal and into Saeldir's chamber, the familiar space feeling almost surreal after their ti in the other world.

The soft glow of lanterns bathed the room in warm light, their flickering reflections dancing off the polished stone walls. It was the very place where their journey to the help people of thee underground holand had begun, and now its witnessing their return.

Waiting for them were Saeldir's five apprentices, standing in a respectful line, their gazes a mixture of curiosity for their journey.

Near the center of the room, Aurdis sitting apart form them, her beautiful features tense with concern. The mont her eyes t Eren, she moved swiftly, her long robes flowing behind her like a cascade of silver and green.

Without hesitation, she closed the distance and embraced him, her arms wrapping tightly around his broad fra.

Her face that full of both relief and lingering worry pressed against his chest. Erend returned the embrace with calming motion.

With quiet reassurance, he murmured words ant only for her ears and imdiately soothing her fears and letting her know that he was unhard and everything was as it should be.

"I'm alright," Erend said. "You know that I will always be fine, right?"

Aurdis nodded her head while pressed in on his chest without saying anything

Eccar observing the exchange with a faint smile and made his way to one of the two long couches near the chamber's hearth. Saeldir followed suit, lowering himself onto the opposite couch. Both of them then sank into the cushions with a long sigh accompanied them.

The room fell into a contemplative silence cause Saeldir's apprentices still choose to standing still and waiting for their master order without doing anything. It only broken only by the crackle of the hearth's fire.

Saeldir's gaze drifted to the flas, his expression distant, as if tracing the threads of the journey that had just ended.

Eccar leaned back, his hands clasped behind his head, staring at the intricately carved ceiling. His eyes heavy with the weight of everything they had endured, and known.

The chamber, though filled with others, felt eerily still. Each person seed caught in their thoughts, the gravity of the past journey pressing down like an unseen force.

Eccar suddeny shifted on the couch, breaking the silence with a deep breath. His eyes narrowed slightly as if sorting through his thoughts. He could no longer hold back the storm of thoughts in his mind.

Eccar spoke, "We need to talk about sothing important."

The words drawing every gaze to him. Saeldir's apprentices straightened slightly, their expressions curious but reserved.

Eccar sat forward, resting his forearms on his knees as he continued. "No offense, guys," he said, glancing at the apprentices with a faint smile that didn't quite reach his eyes, "but this is sothing we need to discuss in private."

Saeldir gave a subtle nod of understanding. He turned to his apprentices and gestured toward the door. "You've done well. Take your rest for now," he said.

The apprentices exchanged brief glances before bowing respectfully. One by one, they exited the room, the soft click of the door closing behind them leaving the space quieter than before.

"What is this about?" Aurdis asked.

Eccar hesitated for a mont, glancing at Erend who gave him a slight nod. Eccar began.

"During our last battle... We felt sothing. A rage. A darkness deep within us. It was more than just the heat of combat, it was a consuming rage. It felt ancient, uncontrollable, like it wasn't entirely my own."

"I felt it too. It's not the first ti, either," Erend added.

Aurdis's brows knitted in concern as her gaze darted between them. "What are you saying? Is this tied to your Dragonborn power?"

"The Black Rage," Erend said. "That's what Kaelor, our…uhh…ancestors, said."

Aurdis and Saeldir exchanged a glance, the weight of unspoken concern passing between them.

Turning their attention back to Erend and Eccar, they waited in silence.

"This isn't sothing we fully understand ourselves, but it's tied to what we are. To what being a Dragonborn truly ans," Erend said.

"In the heat of battle, when everything around us is chaos, there's a mont. It's like sothing ancient stirs inside. It feeds on the rage and on our instinct to destroy. It's powerful, but…" Eccar paused. "It's dangerous. It's not sothing we can afford to lose control over."

Aurdis's gaze softened with worry. "Dangerous how?" she asked.

Erend and Eccar exchanged a brief, knowing look. It was Erend who answered, his tone grim. "If we let it take over… we don't know if we could co back. It's not just about losing ourselves and bring destruction to everything and veryone."

Saeldir's brows furrowed as he listened, his sharp mind already working through the implications. "And this… force," he said carefully, "has it always been a part of you? Or is it sothing newly awakened?"

Eccar shook his head. "I think it's always been there. But it's been… quiet. Dormant. Lately, though, it feels like it's closer to the surface, like it's clawing its way out."

Aurdis's fingers tightened their grip as she glanced at Erend. "Why didn't you tell about this before?"

"I didn't even think that it was dangerous before," Erend admitted.

The room fell silent, the crackling of the hearth filling the void as the weight of their words settled over them.

Saeldir leaned back slightly, his gaze thoughtful. "If this… power… is growing stronger, then we need to consider how to manage it. How to ensure it doesn't consu you."

"I agree," Erend said.
