While Aerchon and Sylra searched for an alternate way inside, Saeldir, Vael, and Arlyn arrived at the base of Skyreach Tower. Their eyes took in the sa daunting sight just like the two of them — a periter full of guards and sentries, their presence was a clear reminder of the hardship they will have ahead.

Saeldir, Vael, and Arlyn crouched behind a rusted tal structure, their eyes fixed on the Skyreach Tower's heavily guarded periter.

The pulsing blue-white energy running along its sleek fra gave the building an unnatural glow and the guards stationed at its base only reinforced the sense of danger and anxiety in their heart.

Vael swallowed hard, his stomach twisting. "If there are this many guards outside just imagine how many are inside," he muttered with low voice but edged with unease.

Arlyn nodded grimly. "Its not just their numbers, though. The ones inside are bound to be stronger and etter trained. And probably have more advanced weapon or Magic on their side. This can't be good."

A tense silence settled over them for a brief mont, the weight of the mission pressing down on their shoulders. But then, Saeldir exhaled through his nose and straightened slightly. His sharp pale blue eyes never leaving the tower.

"We knew this wouldn't be easy," he said. "But if we're careful, we'll be fine." His tone was firm. Then, after a short pause, he added, "And rember that this is our duty. Our kings entrusted us with this mission, and we will see it through."

Vael and Arlyn exchanged glances. They were experienced warriors, but this place was unlike anything they had encountered before. Even so, Saeldir was right. They had no choice but to move forward.

Before they could say anything else, a flicker of Magic brushed against Vael's mind. A telepathic connection co to him again. He stiffened slightly before recognizing the familiar presence, it was Sylra.

"We're at the tower's base now," her voice echoed in his mind. "We're searching for a way in that won't get us caught."

Vael quickly relayed the ssage to Saeldir, who gave a sharp nod. "Tell her we're coming to them. Ask for their exact location."

Vael closed his eyes briefly, focusing on the telepathic link. "We also already here. Where are you? Let us et first."

A few seconds later, Sylra's response ca through. "We're near the east side, in an alley behind a gate guarded with soldiers. It's not too well-patrolled, there's not a lot of soldiers here, but we still need to be careful."

Saeldir heard that from Vael, then didn't hesitate and said. "Let's move."

Without wasting another mont, the three Elves slipped into the darkness with swift and silent movent as they made their way toward their allies.

The city's neon lights cast eerie shadows on the tal walls around them, and every step felt like walking on the edge of a blade.

As they walked, Saeldir reminded them in a low voice, "Keep your expressions neutral. Walk as if we belong here."

Vael and Arlyn gave the smallest nods, adjusting their posture to appear casual.

Even though their instincts scread to move quickly, they forced themselves to walk at a steady and unhurried pace. The last thing they needed was to draw unwanted attention from these strange people around them.

The streets were still busy, filled with figures moving about their own business — so cloaked in thick tattered coats, others in strange armor with glowing lights implants. Conversations in their languages mixed with the chanical hum of distant machines. No one paid them any mind or even a glance.

That should have been a good thing.

However, Saeldir frowned. He gut telling them that sothing was off about this.

His sharp eyes swept the area and scanning every corner, alley, and lingering shadow. The people around them carried on as usual. Nothing seed out of place.

So why did he feel like sothing was watching them?

"Is it really going to be this easy?" he thought grimly.

His gut told him no.

Keeping his voice calm, he muttered just loud enough for Vael and Arlyn to hear, "Stay alert. Keep an eye on our surroundings."

Both of them tensed slightly when seeing Saeldir's expression before nodding, subtly heightening their senses. They didn't question Saeldir's order as an Archmage — if he felt sothing was wrong, then they wouldn't ignore it.

They continued forward with their senses already sharpened. Their every step now more aware.

After several tense minutes, they finally arrived at the designated location, the alleyway between two towering buildings.

There, partially hidden in the darkness, Aerchon and Sylra stood waiting for them.

A smaller, less guarded gate located just ahead of them, a stark contrast to the heavily fortified main entrance. It was their best chance to slip inside unnoticed.

A quiet sigh of relief passed between them as they reunited.

Vael allowed himself to relax, if only slightly. "Finally," he murmured.

Sylra nodded with a small smile. "Good. Now let's figure out how to get past that gate."

Aerchon crossed his arms. Then he glanced toward Saeldir. "Did you run into any trouble?"

Saeldir shook his head, but his expression remained serious. "Not yet," he admitted. "But sothing doesn't feel right."

Aerchon's gaze darkened. Saeldir can see that he too feel that sothing wasn't right. "Then let's not waste any ti," Aerchon said. Your next journey awaits at My Virtual Library Empire

All five of them turned toward the gate, preparing to make their next move.

Saeldir narrowed his eyes, studying the guards stationed at the smaller gate. Their uniforms were a blend of tal armor and the strange enhancents of Magic they all already recognized.

He morized every detail from the strap, insignia, and weapon holstered at their sides before taking a slow breath and weaving his Magic.

With a subtle movent of his fingers, Saeldir drew upon his heightened Magic, shaping the energy into an intricate concealnt spell.

The air shimred around them as his Magic took effect and start twisting light and perception of this world.

A few monts later, he glanced at Aerchon, Sylra, Vael, and Arlyn before giving a slight nod. With a final motion, he cast the spell upon them and their appearances imdiately changed again.

From the perspective of anyone in this world, they no longer looked like just normal citizen like them but like the soldiers that now guarding Skyreach Tower.

Their forms were cloaked in an illusion, their armor reflecting the sa designs and their faces altered to match those who belonged here. This Magic also more advanced that they Elves now also feeling the change in their body.

Vael flexed his fingers, staring down at his hands that now covered in the sleek plating of the enemy's armor. Arlyn adjusted his stance, testing the feel of the illusion.

"Impressive as always, Archmage," Sylra murmured with an impressed smile.

Saeldir exhaled slowly. "It will hold as long as we don't draw too much attention. Now, let's move."

With their disguises in place, they approached the gate, walking with the confidence expected of those who belonged there.

The mont they stepped forward, the guards at the gate straightened, their glowing visors scanning over the approaching figures. One of them lifted a hand, signaling them to halt.

"Identification," the guard demanded with voice that sounded cold and chanical through his helt's filter.

Without hesitation, Saeldir flicked his fingers in a barely noticeable motion, and a faint ripple of Magic expanded outward. The air shimred just for a fraction of a second before settling again.

The guards froze, confusion flashing in their eyes before their bodies stiffened unnaturally. A sudden wave of invisible force engulfed them as Saeldir's spell took full effect.

The surveillance caras in the area blinked static for a brief mont, their view obscured as a field of Magic disrupted their feed.

Then, in a single instant, the guards collapsed to the ground — silent and unconscious.

Arlyn's hand hovered over his weapon, but he relaxed when he realized there was no struggle. "Still efficient, I see," she muttered.

Saeldir let out a quiet breath, his gaze flicking toward the gate that now unprotected. "Let's not waste ti. Inside. Now!"

Without hesitation, they slipped through the entrance and disappearing into the depths of Skyreach Tower.

As Saeldir stepped through the gate last, he extended his hand subtly, weaving another layer of Magic.

The fallen guards shimred briefly before standing again — or at least, the illusion of them did. To any outside observer or surveillance feed the soldiers remained at their post, unmoving but still doing their job.

With a final flick of his wrist, the disruptive field vanished, restoring the cara's normal function. Nothing appeared out of place.

When tey get inside, the tower's atmosphere was suffocating. The walls were a fusion of dark tal and glowing circuitry that pulsating with an eerie rhythm.

Unlike the chaotic city streets, the silence here felt oppressive, as if the entire structure was watching them.

They had entered through what seed to be a storage room that filled with towering crates of unknown equipnt.

Saeldir exhaled softly, reaching into his pouch and retrieving a small vial filled with a swirling blue liquid. Without hesitation, he downed it in one swift motion. A cooling sensation coursed through his body as his depleted Magic reserves began to replenish.

Aerchon gave him a quick glance. "You good?"

Saeldir nodded. "Better now."

With their disguises still intact, they navigated deeper into the tower, keeping their movents asured.
