They all felt deep and real fluctuation of the Magic of life flowing through every corridor and stone wall of the temple. It moved like wind through leaves but warr and fuller.
It was the kind of energy that didn't crack or burn or destroy like before, but instead restored and healed.
The temple itself seed to breathe as it passed through. The walls no longer cold with feelings of decay but pulsing gently with light. The ancient stones soaked in the power like thirsty roots drawing water after a long period of ti without one.
This was the forest's lifeblood which is the true essence of Thar'Zul-Vekar's Magic power. It was clear now that this was never a god that ant for wrath or death or decay. Their domain was one of renewal and preservation of life.
It ca back to what it wa supposed to be before the disaster that hit the god.
Erend, Eccar, and Krono remained still. None of them spoke. They just let the feeling sink in.
The green glow ca brighter and brighter from the chambers deeper in the temple. Soft at first then steady and giving bright green like like the sun rising in the dawn.
The air was filled with the soundless hum of Magic at work that vibrating through the ground, touching the broken and charred roots outside the temple, weaving through the forest as if calling it back to life.
Erend stood near the broken wall, eyes on the forest. He said nothing but a faint smile pulled at his lips.
Eccar stood beside him, arms crossed loosely.
"Strangely, this ti we didn't win because we fought harder," he said quietly. "We won because we listened and wait. That is new."
Erend nodded. "Yeah. We didn't kill our enemy this ti. We just told them the truth."
And that was what made the mont feel right for them. No glory after killing in the battle. Just a broken soul thatt was shown a forgotten truth and that changed everything in the fight.
From within the temple, the sound of wind shifted. Beca sothing else.
They can hear people breathing. First shallow then deeper and louder.
Then voices of whispering, gasping, and crying ca after that.
The people who had been sacrificed and beco re husks of body befor were now start waking up one by one. Their souls returned to their flesh.
Their minds stirring in confusion but then their awareness arrived. They had not been simply resurrected but made whole again. Every soul carefully stitched back to its place by the god's will.
Erend turned slightly, eyes wide.
They could hear them now. The once-dead whispering in disbelief. Calling each other's nas or weeping in confusion.
The air felt thick with the weight of what had just happened. This is the result that not ca from power or rage but from the will to heal again.
The temple that had been a site of death had beco sacred again and even though the forest were still scarred they thought that it would live from now and nobody is going to co here and destroy the forest after what happened.
They stood in silence for a while longer, letting the peace around them settle. It was feels like that the temple was no longer a place of fear but had beco sothing sacred again.
Eventually, the three of them stepped away from the wall. The green light inside the temple had begun to dim, not in a fading way, but as if it had finished its purpose and was now returning to rest.
They knew it was ti to leave this place and notice the others that the problem had been resolved.
Erend turned to Eccar. "Let's go. We should find the adventurers and let them know it's over."
Krono gave a faint nod and looked toward the temple's heart one last ti.
"I will et you again when you are ready," he said. Then, with a slow step backward, his body shimred and faded into golden dust then scattered by the wind as if he had never been there.
At that mont, a quiet chi echoed in Erend's mind. A familiar tone from the System.
[Main Quest Completed: The Forgotten God of the Forest]
[You have gained 6,800,000 EXP]
[Level Up: Level 355].
Erend blinked at the glowing notification in front of his eyes. A small smile tugged at his lips.
"Well... that was worth it," he thought.
He opened his System window for a mont, letting his fingers hover through the interface. He didn't spend the points yet but he had one goal in mind, that is to obtain another Dragon Transformation power.
He need sothing stronger. The next war was already moving even if this battle had ended in peace.
"Let's go," he said.
Eccar nodded and both of them let the power rise. Behind their wings burst open.
They rose into the sky and fly cutting through clouds and wind.
High above the forest, they swept their gaze across the land with their Dragon Eyes. The temple shrank below them. Then, at the very edge of the forest in the place that untouched by battle they spotted a group.
Erend's eyes sharpened. "Found them."
They descended quickly, wings folding just before landing in a soft whirl of wind and leaves.
The adventurers turned the mont they touched the ground. Mark, Jan, Hund, Thorne, Annette, Esther, Selene, and Kaela were alert at first. But when they saw Erend and Eccar standing there no longer bloodied or tense, sothing in their expressions shifted.
"You two ca back already," Mark began with a sigh of relieve.
Erend nodded. "It's over. The god has returned to peace and those who were sacrificed were alive again."
The words struck like thunder in calm water.
Silence followed, then they widened their eyes and their mouth opened.
"They're… alive again?" Kaela repeated.
Erend gave a quiet smile. "Yes. whole and breathing."
Eccar added, "They'll need ti, but they're back. The forest too. It will heal."
The adventurers stood still. Then the weight of what they'd just heard washed over them.
They feel relief, disbelief, and awe. They didn't think that the power they had witnessed before had been resolved with much better result then they had thought.
