Erend’s claws dug into the glass-scorched ground as he tore through Setekh-Ra’s towering form once again. His Lightning Dragon body glowing like a beacon in the storm with lightning whipping around.

Arcs of searing lightning coiled around him, hissing and shrieking as he delivered another devastating surge straight through the Boss’s chest.

The armored shell cracked, and with a final roar Setekh-Ra shattered into light and dust for what felt like the hundredth ti.

But the mont that light faded the sands began to churn again.

Setekh-Ra reford, again. As flawless as ever. Few ters away from him.

Erend let out a low growl, steam billowing from his nostrils. His wings were scorched at the edges and his scales bore charred gashes. It all ca from Setekh-Ra.

He stared at the new body standing tall before him that was just born of dust and storm, and felt a cold frustration settle in his chest.

"How many more tis do I have to kill this fucker?!"

But then, just as that weight began to press down again, Eccar’s voice shot through their ntal link like a bolt of salvation.

"I found the bastard’s real body."

Erend’s heart surged. "Where is it?"

"Right above us. Inside the vortex," Eccar said. "That son of a bitch was hiding in plain sight the whole ti. We just never thought to look up."

Erend’s head snapped skyward, and there, within the swirling mouth of the storm he saw it. A floating humanoid form, arms crossed and eyes closed, as if ditating in the eye of the chaos.

It was so small compared to the raging giant they’d fought, yet its presence now felt undeniable.

A slow savage grin crept across Erend’s draconic face. It was an expression that would’ve terrified anyone who saw it.

"Alright," he growled. "You take out the real one. I’ll keep this fake busy."

Without hesitation, Erend launched himself forward again. Lightning trailing behind him in blinding arcs.

Setekh-Ra’s body t him again. The two clashing in a titanic flurry of fists, claws, and Magic power.

anwhile, not far away, Eccar soared skyward.

His wings flapping hard and earthen Magic spiraling around him like orbiting shields. He pushed against the storm’s resistance.

The winds howled, but nothing stopped him now.

Until the lightning struck from above.

BLARRR!

A bolt from the vortex slamd into his flank. That was not ordinary lightning. This was laced with refined Magic that crafted to burn through strong defenses.

Eccar grunted. His body jolted. He felt the pain ripple through his bones. This was a real threat. Even though the pain were not unbearable this is a sign that it can hurt him.

More bolts rained down from every angle, slamming into him, tearing at his shields.

BLARR!

BLARR!

He cursed and conjured earthen dos around himself, reshaping and replacing them as quickly as they were destroyed.

The Magic lightning shattered each layer but Eccar was relentless.

"Almost there."

His eyes locked on Setekh-Ra’s true body who were still hovering calmly, its faint glow pulsing like a quiet heartbeat.

With a final roar Eccar smashed through the last wave of lightning, swept his arm forward, and swatted the body from the air like a teor.

BOOM!

The true body was hurled from the clouds and sent crashing down through the storm, plumting toward the battlefield below.

Erend saw it.

Setekh-Ra’s puppet-body paused while in the midst of clash with Erend. Its head turned slightly, eyes glowing with an amused light.

"So, you’ve finally found it." the voice said.

Erend’s answer ca as a thunderous beam of pure lightning that erupted from his mouth. The bolt tore through Setekh-Ra’s chest and launched him back like a broken doll.

"Shut up," Erend growled.

Above, Eccar dove like a teor. His wings folded as he streaked after the true body thata now spinning helplessly through the air. At the last second, he extended his legs.

CRASH!

Both feet smashed down on the real Setekh-Ra, driving him into the sand like a hamr smashing glass.

A deafening explosion of light, wind, and raw Magic erupted from the impact. The storm shuddered.

The vortex above began to unravel.

Setekh-Ra’s giant body that was still airborne after Erend’s last attack froze mid-motion.

Then, slowly, it began to fall apart into sands.

Like a puppet with its strings cut, it collapsed into sand and ash, drifting into nothingness.

Erend hovered in the air, his chest heaving, watching it all fade.

He could feel that this ti, Setekh-Ra wasn’t coming back.

A soft chi echoed in Erend’s head.

[Boss Defeated: Setekh-Ra]

[Reward: 3,800,000 EXP]

Finally.

Erend exhaled, smoke curling from his nostrils as the system’s light-blue text vanished from his vision.

It was the confirmation he needed. After all the chaos, after the endless regenerations and crushing blow, Setekh-Ra was truly finished.

He glanced over and saw Eccar descending toward him. Though the Earth Dragonborn didn’t have a system Erend could feel the way Eccar’s body shimred faintly with lingering Magic.

He was absorbing Setekh-Ra’s raw essence into him and becoming his power.

Eccar looked down at his feet, watching as Setekh-Ra’s true body dissolved into shimring grains that glowed briefly before disappearing into the desert sands.

"Feels good," Eccar muttered, rolling his shoulders and letting his Magic settle. "After all that crap this is kinda satisfying."

Eccar stepped up beside him, looking around the battlefield that was now littered with smoldering craters and jagged glass ford from scorched sand.

"So... what now?" Eccar asked.

"What else? we need to keep moving," Erend said. "There’s always a next fight. This one just happens to be done."

But then just as they began to relax the air shifted again.

A figure stepped from the shadows cast by the swirling clouds.

Setekh-Ra appeared again.

But this ti not as their opponent. Not as a titan butjust a man. His normal human form with robes of shifting gold and blue, eyes glowing softly, arms raised in a gesture of peace.

Both Dragonborn tensed for a mont until he spoke.

"I don’t want to fight anymore," Setekh-Ra said. "My task here is complete."

Erend narrowed his eyes but didn’t attack. He’d seen sothing like this before. Not all Dungeon bosses were enemies by nature. So were appointed.

Eccar folded his arms and muttered while pointing at Erend, "Alright. He told before that so bosses are just part of the system. Doing a job."

Setekh-Ra gave a faint nod. "Correct. I was here for this purpose. Now that you’ve reached this level... I have information to pass on."

Erend took a step forward. "You want to talk?"

"Yes," Setekh-Ra replied. "Because soone like you, soone who carries the system, has earned the right to hear what’s coming. You’re not the only Dragonborn to receive it."

Erend’s eyes widened slightly at that. Not the only one?

He glanced at Eccar, then gave a subtle nod. "Alright. Let’s talk."

With that, Erend’s body shimred as the lightning faded. His towering Dragon form lted away into his human body, steam still rising from his skin.

Eccar followed a mont later, his own Dragon body shifting down, boots pressing into the wet sand.

Rain had stopped but the clouds still churned above them like a storm that held in pause.

They walked a short distance and sat together on the darkened sands, still warm from battle.

Setekh-Ra sat across from them, then he began to speak. His glowing eyes watched them with sothing like respect.

"Once, long ago, though ’long’ is a strange word here, a Dragon ca through this place and fought . Just as you did."

Erend leaned forward slightly. "He defeated you too?"

Setekh-Ra nodded. "He did. But unlike you... he was alone."

Erend frowned. "How long ago was that?"

Setekh-Ra gave a faint shrug. "There’s no telling. Ti doesn’t move in one direction here. You might have co a day after him. Or a thousand years later."

Eccar sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "Figures. The flow of ti in this place is a joke."

Eccar remained silent and processed everything.

"Is this Dungeon World only accessible to a Dragonborn with a system?" Erend asked next.

"Yes," Setekh-Ra replied. "But... if the system owner gives permission, others can co with him."

Erend and Eccar exchanged a long look, understanding what he saw. Eccar was able to co here because he was with Erend.

"Then tell ," Erend said. "Who owns this system? Who gave this power?"

Setekh-Ra chuckled softly, shaking his head. "That is sothing I cannot answer."

"Why not?" Erend pressed, voice harder now.

"Because," Setekh-Ra said simply, "those are the rules. I only know what the system owner allows to know."

Erend clenched his fists. The answer felt so close, yet deliberately just out of reach. He’d carried this power for so long, changed by it, and guided by it. But still had no idea who or what was behind it all.

"So I’m just so pawn in a ga I can’t even see?"

Setekh-Ra didn’t answer.

But the silence said enough.
