The little girl in the gothic dress stood in the center of the massive courtyard.

Vexia scoffed loudly, crossing her arms over her crimson silk dress. The Sanguine Princess hovered closer, glaring down at the child. "An investnt? What could you possibly need investing in? You’re a god. And you look like you need a juice box, not an army."

Morrigan didn’t look at the vampire. Her empty, swirling gray eyes remained fixed entirely on Lucifer.

*"The blood-drinker is loud,"* Morrigan’s voice echoed directly into Lucifer’s mind, carrying a dull, apathetic tone. *"But she is right. I am a god. And I have nothing."*

The little girl reached out again. This ti, she didn’t touch Lucifer’s armor. She grabbed his bare left hand with both of her tiny, freezing pale hands.

The mont she made skin-to-skin contact, Lucifer’s system interface didn’t just flash. It violently erupted. The dark, starry sky above the courtyard seed to dim, pulling inward toward the small child.

[System Warning: Absolute Divine Transfer Initiated!]

[Source: Morrigan, Goddess of Death.]

[Target: Lucifer of Obsidian (God-Emperor of the Void).]

*"You tore the heavens down,"* Morrigan whispered in his mind. *"You shattered the golden cage. You broke the World-Eater. You are the apex of this shattered tiline, Regressor."*

Lucifer’s void-swirling eyes narrowed sharply. She knew what he was.

*"I offer you the end,"* the Goddess continued, her small hands gripping his tightly. *"I offer you my throne. Take my mantle. Beco the God of Death. I will give you my complete divinity, and billions of concentrated Death-Crystals from my personal vault."*

The system interface translated her intent into a formal, blindingly bright purple prompt.

[Divine Offer Received: Mantle of the Death God.]

[Acceptance Rewards:]

[- Instant Ascension to Tier 10 (Primordial Sovereign).]

[- Absolute control over the Underworld Dinsion.]

[- 10,000,000,000 Death-Crystals (Infinite Currency).]

[Warning: Acceptance binds the user to the restrictive cosmic laws of the Death Clergy.]

It was the ultimate prize.

In his past life, entire nations had waged genocidal wars just to find a single, crumbling shrine dedicated to the Death Goddess, begging for a fraction of her power. Now, the Goddess herself was handing him the keys to her dinsion and offering him her own throne.

Lucifer stared at the glowing prompt. He looked down at the pale, expressionless face of the little girl offering him absolute dominion over mortality.

Elara stepped up beside him. The Twilight Sovereign saw the purple interface reflecting in Lucifer’s eyes. She gripped her spear, her golden eyes wide with apprehension.

"Lucifer," Elara warned softly. "The laws of the old pantheons are chains. If you take her throne, you beco part of the system that let the world burn. You will be bound by rules you didn’t write."

"I know," Lucifer said smoothly.

He didn’t hesitate. He didn’t weigh the billions of crystals against his freedom.

Lucifer gently, but firmly, pulled his hand out of Morrigan’s freezing grip.

"Decline," Lucifer stated coldly.

The massive purple interface shattered into dust, disappearing from his vision.

Morrigan blinked slowly, her empty gray eyes tilting up at him. She didn’t look angry. She looked profoundly confused.

*"You refuse the throne?"* her ntal voice echoed, laced with genuine disbelief. *"You refuse absolute power?"*

"I already have absolute power," Lucifer corrected her smoothly. He crossed his arms over his dark leather breastplate. "I am the God-Emperor of the Void. I built my throne out of the wreckage of the people who tried to stop . I am not going to put on a hand--down crown and sit in a dark basent managing paperwork for dead souls."

He looked down at the tiny goddess.

"I bow to no pre-existing pantheon," Lucifer declared, his voice a low, resonant rumble of pure authority. "And I don’t follow rules I didn’t write."

Morrigan stared at him for a long, heavy mont.

Then, the corners of her small, pale mouth twitched upward. It was a faint, almost imperceptible smile.

*"You truly are a monster,"* Morrigan whispered in his mind, sounding deeply satisfied. *"The golden cowards were right to fear you."*

She lowered her hands, smoothing down her frilly black skirt.

*"I cannot force the mantle upon you,"* the Goddess conceded. *"But my throne remains occupied by thieves. When the golden cowards locked in this cage, the lesser evil gods—the scavengers of the cosmos—usurped my realm. They sit on my Throne of Bones. They hoard my crystals. They corrupt the natural order of the end."*

She looked up at him, her gray eyes locking onto his.

*"You do not want my title, Void Emperor. But I know you want my wealth. I know you hunger for conquest."*

A new system interface materialized in front of Lucifer. It wasn’t a divine transfer. It was a quest log, burning with a fierce, blood-red intensity.

[System Override: SSS-Class Cosmic Quest Offered!]

[Quest Na: Reclaim the Shattered Underworld.]

[Objective: Invade the Underworld Dinsion. Eradicate the Usurper Gods. Reclaim the Throne of Bones for Morrigan.]

[Rewards: Exclusive rights to all plundered resources within the Underworld. Unrestricted access to the Death-Crystal reserves. Absolute alliance with the Goddess of Death.]

Lucifer read the prompt.

An SSS-Class Quest. The highest possible difficulty rating in the system architecture. It ant fighting entire pantheons of high-tier deities on their own ho turf.

It was a blatant, unadulterated invitation to launch a planetary-scale invasion into hell.

Lucifer smirked. A cold, terrifying, predatory expression spread across his face.

"Now that," Lucifer said smoothly, "is an offer I can accept."

He tapped the red interface, officially logging the quest into his Warlord system.

"I accept the contract," Lucifer announced. He looked down at the little girl. "I will clean out your basent, Morrigan. But the loot belongs to Obsidian."

*"Take it all,"* Morrigan agreed softly. *"Just leave the throne."*

She turned away from him and walked slowly toward the edge of the courtyard, sitting down on a cold stone bench near the wall. She pulled her knees to her chest, resuming her quiet, apathetic vigil, completely ignoring the massive Paladin-chs towering over her.

Lucifer turned his attention to the mundane, wooden birdcage resting on the black-stone pavent.

The lock was shattered, but the cage itself was perfectly intact. It was an artifact capable of holding a Primordial Goddess in stasis for centuries.

He didn’t leave it as trash.

Lucifer opened his Dinsional Vault and casually tossed the empty Astral Cage inside.

"Never know when you might need to put a god in a ti-out," Lucifer muttered dryly.

Vexia floated down to the ground, her red wings folding. She looked at Lucifer, her aristocratic sneer returning in full force.

"You just turned down infinite wealth to go pick a fight with an entire dinsion of evil gods," Vexia sighed, rubbing her temples. "You are completely exhausting, Lucifer. We just finished the apocalypse. Can we please just fly the city for a few days without declaring war on a new reality?"

"We are flying," Lucifer pointed out smoothly. He looked up at the stunning, endless expanse of the starry cosmos outside Zephyria’s do. "The Underworld is a long-term objective. We have to chart the local star systems first to gather the necessary strategic data. We are in uncharted territory."

Elara stepped up beside him, her violet eyes tracking the glowing nebulas in the distance.

"We are," Elara agreed, her voice dropping the military cadence. She looked incredibly relaxed, the heavy burden of the terrestrial war completely lifted from her shoulders. "And the army is resting. The city is stable. There are no imdiate threats on the scanners."

She looked at Lucifer, a soft, intimate smile touching her lips.

"You promised a mont of peace when the sky was clear," Elara whispered.

Lucifer looked at her. He saw the scars on her arms, the exhaustion hidden beneath her perfect posture. He looked at Lyra, who was leaning on her broadsword near the keep, her holy aura humming contentedly.

The Warlord persona, the cold, calculating mask he wore to conquer the world, smoothly fell away.

"I did," Lucifer said softly. He reached out and gently caught Elara’s hand in his own. "And the sky is very clear."

He turned to Vexia.

"Princess," Lucifer commanded, but his tone was light, almost conversational. "Take the bridge. Monitor the flight path. Do not wake unless the city is actively on fire."

Vexia rolled her red eyes dramatically, but a pleased smirk touched her fangs. "Yes, yes. Enjoy your nap, Emperor. Try not to break any furniture. The maintenance drones are tired."

Lucifer ignored the jibe. He gently pulled Elara toward the heavy oak doors of the central keep. Lyra fell into step beside them, her dual-toned eyes shining with quiet, profound relief.

The war for the earth was over. The conquest of the stars could wait until tomorrow. Tonight, the Emperor of the Void was officially off the clock.
