“…Damn. Apostles who focus on a single main Shell really are built differently from .”
Seeing the long list of equipnt and skills on the panel, Lin Xun could not help clicking his tongue in amazent.
He could glean quite a bit of information from this Shell.
First, the Calamity Lich’s original tier should have been legendary grade, and now it had been raised to mythic grade by his soul talent.
Through this crafty theft, Lin Xun had obtained yet another mythic grade main Shell.
However, the highest skills on this Shell were only legendary grade, far weaker in raw combat power than the Child of Evil.
The Shell’s original compatibility was only 72%, probably because of how ugly it looked. It was not hard to imagine that a necromancer would be a withered, skin-and-bones figure.
“So that ans Little Amos’s original body must not look very good either…”
As an elite Apostle chosen as a Disciple, Amos’s Shell level was 110, a full 20 levels above Lin Xun.
If he set this Shell as the leader, it would be like gulping down an experience pill. Shell Levels would skyrocket instantly.
Yet Amos’s Shell level, among Apostles of the sa difficulty, was not even high and was only slightly above average.
This was probably because the Disciple selection had suddenly cranked up the difficulty and he had not had ti to grind levels repeatedly.
Elite Apostles who poured everything into a single Shell usually had a large number of equipnt pieces and skills. After all, one Shell was their entire net worth.
A status page like Amos’s, with equipnt quality matching the Shell’s grade and even a set crafted at great expense from the Book of Craftsn, was exactly what one would expect.
Set equipnt was also a form of tailor-made gear. Once enough pieces of the sa set were equipped, additional skill effects would be unlocked.
However, custom sets could not incorporate materials Apostles usually gained as loot. They were all specific special materials designated by the Book of Craftsn, materials that almost never appeared for sale on the Book of Trade and could only be bought at full price from the Book of Craftsn.
So forging a full set cost a truly enormous amount of money.
Only Disciples like Amos, who bled the lower-tier Apostles dry, had the capital to forge such set equipnt.
Even so, the overall amount of equipnt was lacking. Belt, cloak, bracers, boots and a whole series of items were still missing.
This must have been because he had not been in the Disciple position for long and had not sucked enough blood yet.
Disciples who had been in office for a long ti were ard to the teeth. They had so much equipnt that their slots could not hold it all and even had the resources to forge a second set with different attributes.
As for the large number of matching Shell skills, there was also a thod to that.
The Anchor Bookmark was fairly rare. Its main acquisition route was that after clearing a chapter, there was a chance for it to appear refreshed in the Bookmark List at the Librarian, but the probability of an Anchor Bookmark appearing was extrely small.
However, once the New World had a sufficiently vast number of low-tier Disciples, probability ceased to be a problem.
The New World organization had always had collection mandates for various bookmarks. Any low-tier Apostle who obtained rare bookmarks had to hand them over to the upper levels and would then receive generous rewards.
Once a Disciple acquired Anchor Bookmarks contributed by lower-tier Apostles, they could designate later chapters tied to their current Shell for targeted clears. That they could obtain a series of matching skills from those chapters was thus nothing surprising.
Overall, the Corrupted Calamity Lich’s combat strength was decent.
But this Shell could not be exposed for now and was best not used in internal struggles within the New World. In solo chapters, however, it could be used freely.
After all, even with the blessing of Flesh Authority that could alter a Shell’s appearance, equipnt and skills could not be changed.
Amos had just lost a necromancer Shell, and now he suddenly gained the sa build. Even an idiot could see sothing was off.
Even if he wanted to show off his potential to the Master, he absolutely could not expose his trump card, Thousand Faces, Ten Thousand Forms.
After all, Lin Xun had never forgotten where he stood. The New World could only ever be an enemy, and the Master was the final big boss on the enemy side.
While he was checking the panel attributes, he had already reached the edge of the island where the middle-seat Disciples were.
He possessed the Ninja Master Shell and imdiately used a stealth skill, hiding himself at the fringe of the island.
Lin Xun opened the Soul-Annihilation Bookmark option.
[Twelfth Disciple Cain – alive, remaining retainers 0/0.]
[Eleventh Disciple Amos – alive, remaining retainers 0/2.]
[Tenth Disciple Jeremiah – dead.]
[Ninth Disciple Agabus – dead.]
[Eighth Disciple Mattithiah – dead.]
[Seventh Disciple Deborah – dead.]
[Sixth Disciple Bashir – alive, remaining retainers 1/3.]
[Fifth Disciple Joshua – alive, remaining retainers 1/2.]
[…]
At this mont, only two middle-seat Disciples remained. Judging from their retainer counts having dropped to one apiece, the battle must have already reached a fever pitch.
Among the fallen Disciples, the Eighth Disciple Mattithiah had also served under Vishnu. However, before Lin Xun had even had the chance to et him, the man was already dead.
Among the survivors, one was Bashir, with whom he had once had indirect contact.
The Engineer that Lin Xun had killed and taken the Shell from had been a lamb belonging to Bashir.
As for Amos, who had still not returned to the Library, that was because Lin Xun had ordered him to remain.
With his Shell gone, Amos had no path of retreat left and could only follow him down this road all the way into darkness.
The fact that he could still keep his life and his Disciple position was already rcy on Lord Cain’s part.
As long as he retained his life and Disciple position, Amos could continue to bleed lower-tier Apostles and strengthen himself. That was his greatest trump card for later turning things around.
Under Lin Xun’s orders, Amos obediently remained in wandering soul form beside the Resting Page, creating the illusion that the two of them were still locked in a grueling battle.
This way, the other Disciples could not, through the Soul-Annihilation Bookmark option, discover that there was a scher hiding on the island, waiting to swoop in like a fisherman reaping the benefit when the snipe and clam fought.
By his own estimate, Lin Xun could now completely crush a mythic grade Disciple.
As for facing a mythic grade Disciple, whether he could win relying only on Shell strength was still an unknown.
The power difference between each tier was enormous. Without an actual battle, no one could say whether the other side still had trump card items or hidden killing moves left.
These two remaining middle-seat Disciples had been in office for quite a long ti and their foundations should be extrely deep. It would not be surprising if they had extrely destructive life-risking items.
