After cutting off the large piece of Exotic Beast at, Lin Li placed his hand on the gray wolf Mutant Beast’s corpse and stored it in the Mysterious Small Island.

He rinsed the blood-stained Exotic Beast at from the gray wolf, then broke off a branch from a nearby tree. After skewering the at, he stuck the branch in the ground next to the campfire to roast.
Picking up his unfinished instant noodles, Lin Li sat on a small stool and continued to eat, occasionally glancing over at the Exotic Beast at roasting by the fire.
Under the fire’s heat, it didn’t take long for the skewered Exotic Beast at to start rendering fat.

"This weather is really hot!" Lin Li grumbled. He was already starting to sweat after squatting by the stream for only a short while. Looking up at the sun, he cupped so cool stream water in his hands and splashed it on his face.
He felt completely refreshed after washing his face with the cool stream water.
Lin Li then stood up and returned to the campfire. He pulled the branch from the ground and brought the roasting at close, sniffing it.
’Slls great. Just a little longer and this gray wolf Exotic Beast at should be done.’
Lin Li took two small bottles of seasoning out of a plastic bag next to him.
He sprinkled so salt on the roast at, then added a dash of chili powder.
’There’s a certain charm to having a barbecue in the middle of this desolate, dangerous wilderness.’
Sitting on his small stool and turning the at over the campfire, Lin Li gazed out at the endless wilderness in the distance and couldn’t help but sigh with feeling.
A few minutes later, the Exotic Beast at in Lin Li’s hands was fully cooked.
WHOOF...
He blew on the steaming hot Exotic Beast at before taking a careful bite.
’A little too much salt. I’ll have to use less next ti. The chili powder is perfect, though. Any more and it would’ve been too spicy.’
He took one bite after another of the Exotic Beast at. By the ti he was halfway through, he found himself regretting that he hadn’t brought any soda with him on this trip.
’I’ve been working from dawn till dusk hunting Mutant Beasts these past few days. The food I bought last ti is almost gone. I’ll have to make another trip to the supermarket after I get ho.
This ti, I’ll buy more non-perishable food to store on the Mysterious Small Island... And yeah, I can’t forget the soda this ti. I’ll buy a few cases to stock up.’
Just as Lin Li was enjoying his fragrant roasted Exotic Beast at, his mind already on the big shopping trip he’d make after returning ho...
A rustling sound ca from the sa dense patch of grass the gray wolf Mutant Beast had burst out of earlier.

Hearing the noise, Lin Li, who had been sitting on his stool eating the roast at, imdiately stood up again. He stared at the rustling grass in the distance, a look of confusion on his face, as a pleasantly surprised thought crossed his mind.
’No way. Is my luck really this good today? Another Mutant Beast delivering itself to my doorstep so soon?’
Soon, three figures erged from the grass.
A flicker of disappointnt crossed Lin Li’s eyes when he saw the three figures, and he sat back down.
He continued to eat his roasted Exotic Beast at, watching the three distant Exotic Beast Hunters who were now staring at him.
The three of them wore camouflage, carried backpacks, and each held a different Spiritual Weapon: a Longsword, a saber, and a spear.
The three Exotic Beast Hunters initially wore wary expressions, but upon seeing Lin Li sitting in the shade of a tree eating roasted at, their vigilance instantly turned to astonishnt.
When cooking in the wild, the column of smoke from a campfire is highly likely to attract Mutant Beasts, which will often follow it to launch a sneak attack on whoever made the fire.
That’s why most Exotic Beast Hunters these days, when they get hungry while hunting in the wilderness, rely on portable, convenient food.
Things like self-heating al kits, instant hot pots, energy bars, and canned goods.
While these convenient foods don’t taste the best and can get tireso if eaten too often, they don’t require a fire, save ti, and are easy to carry—all crucial advantages for an Exotic Beast Hunter.
Of course, if you’re confident in your own abilities, aren’t afraid of being ambushed by Mutant Beasts, and don’t mind the hassle of cooking, then you’re free to build a fire and make a proper al.
"Hello there, friend! Having so lunch?" called out the leader, a man with a crew cut who looked to be in his early forties. He stopped five or six ters away from Lin Li.
The three Exotic Beast Hunters consisted of two n and one woman. The leader with the crew cut was in his early forties, while the other two—a bald man and a woman with a chin-length bob—were in their early thirties.
Seeing them approach, Lin Li swallowed the bite of Exotic Beast at in his mouth and replied to the crew-cut man, "Yeah. Have you guys eaten lunch yet?"
"We’ve eaten."
"Oh."
The crew-cut man glanced around before asking Lin Li, "Friend, where are your teammates? Why are you out here all alone?"
"Teammates?" Lin Li shook his head. "I don’t have any. I’m out here alone."
"You’re alone?!!" The three Exotic Beast Hunters were stunned by his words.
The man with the crew cut had been an Exotic Beast Hunter for several years. A veteran with the strength of a Second Rank Initial Stage, his initial surprise gave way to concern as he looked at the young man, who appeared to be in his early twenties. His brow furrowed.
’Sigh... another reckless rookie, all guts and no experience. What on earth are these kids thinking? Do they have no fear of death at all?’ the crew-cut man thought, passing judgnt on Lin Li.
Then he spoke up, "You’re new to being an Exotic Beast Hunter, aren’t you, kid?"
Lin Li nodded while taking another bite of his roast at. "I beca an Exotic Beast Hunter less than ten days ago," he told the man.
