"Ximing, the rfolk clan is now in your hands."
"Brother, I’m not ready..."
"You’ve been by my side all these years. I’ve watched you grow. You’re already a very mature leader."
Hearing this, Ximing knew that Xijing had already made up his mind.
"Are you leaving with Sister-in-law?"
Xijing lowered his head slightly, a faint smile touching his lips. "Ximing, I once promised that I would always protect Xixi. But these last two tis, she was the one who helped . So from now on, I must stay by her side."
Ximing was also very grateful for Qiao Xixi’s help to the rfolk clan.
"I really envy you, Brother, for eting such a wonderful female like Sister-in-law."
The smile on Xijing’s lips deepened. He didn’t deny it, because in his heart, Xixi would always be the best.
"You’ll et soone too. I’ll take a Communication Conch with . If you run into any trouble you can’t solve, send a ssage."
"Okay. Don’t worry, Brother. I definitely won’t let you down."
Xijing clapped him on the shoulder, a great weight lifting from his heart.
The sky began to pale with the dawn.
Feiyan had been patrolling the tribe all night. Just as he was about to head back, a male Hua Bao beastman guarding the penned beasts stopped him.
"Lord Feiyan."
Feiyan stopped and turned to look at him.
"What is it?"
"We’ve confird that so of the penned beasts are missing, and we also found so bloodstains."
Feiyan’s brow furrowed. He followed the beastman to where the beasts were penned.
The bloodstains were found under a large tree. Judging by the color of the blood, they must have been left recently.
Feiyan sniffed the air but didn’t detect any unusual scents.
’This ans the intruder’s beast soul level is higher than ours. They can conceal their aura.’
"Assign more n to keep watch. Herd all the penned beasts into one area."
"Right, we understand."
Feiyan searched the vicinity one more ti. Finding nothing else out of the ordinary, he turned and left.
The mont he turned away, a tall figure appeared in the woods. The figure watched Feiyan depart, a dark look in its eyes.
’I’d like to see just how capable you are. Let’s see if you can catch .’
When night fell, Jin Ling stopped Feiyan as he was about to head out.
"You should stay and watch the cubs tonight."
Feiyan frowned at him. "No need. I can go."
Jin Ling shook his head. "You’ve gone for several nights in a row. I’ll go tonight."
Feiyan felt a headache coming on. ’God knows, patrolling at night is so much easier than watching the cubs. When they get fussy, I have no idea how to soothe them.’
But Jin Ling was insistent, so Feiyan relented.
"Fine. Be careful."
Jin Ling nodded and walked out of the inner city.
At this hour, nearly all the beastn in the tribe were asleep. Those who were still awake were inside their hos, not wandering about outside.
At the enclosure, a black figure leaped out from the woods after the patrolling beastn had passed.
It moved swiftly to the front of the pen.
Sensing its aura, the penned beasts scattered in fear.
Just as the dark figure leaped inside to grab the largest of the tusked, black-furred beasts, the ground beneath its feet suddenly collapsed.
Its expression turned cold as it realized it had fallen into their trap.
Forming its hands into claws, it quickly dug them into the dirt, trying to climb out.
A dark shadow suddenly fell over it. It looked up and t a pair of gilded golden eyes.
"Got you!"
The dark figure in the trap sneered. "Not so easy."
With a powerful push of its legs, it leaped out of the trap.
Jin Ling had already shifted into his beast form, fully prepared for a fight.
The instant the figure jumped out, a tiger’s paw swiped down.
The figure’s pupils constricted as it dodged, but even so, its leg was slashed by the sharp claws, drawing blood.
As Jin Ling launched another attack, the dark figure darted toward the woods.
Hearing the commotion, the patrol team quickly gave chase.
"He’s in the woods! Head to the front and block him!"
"ROAR!"
A tiger’s roar tore through the night sky.
The dark figure ahead faltered for a second before quickly leaping into a tall tree.
Without hesitation, Jin Ling followed him up the tree, his paw snapping the branch the figure was standing on.
The cool moonlight shone on the figure, but its face was obscured by a black animal hide on its head. It leaped to another tree, its agility surprising Jin Ling.
’His strength might not be any less than mine!’
Compared to Jin Ling’s fierce onslaught, the opponent seed to be focused more on dodging, constantly provoking Jin Ling to attack.
Just as it was about to exit the forest, it suddenly changed direction and sped toward the inner city.
"Stop him!" ’I can’t let him into the inner city.’
Jin Ling accelerated, his golden light shining brightly in the dark. Just as the figure was about to reach the inner city gate, Jin Ling shot in front of it and slapped its hand, knocking it back dozens of ters.
Seeing Jin Ling charge again, the dark figure once more changed direction and dashed for the back gate. Its speed was astonishingly fast, and it vanished in the blink of an eye.
Jin Ling stopped at the back gate and ordered the patrol team to continue the pursuit.
To prevent the intruder from returning, he stood guard at the inner city’s back gate all night. He only went back at dawn after seeing no sign of it.
Feiyan had just settled the cubs down when he turned and saw the injured Jin Ling. His expression darkened.
"Did you catch him last night?"
Jin Ling shook his head. "He got away."
"Is he stronger than you?"
"It’s very possible. He’s extrely fast."
Both males fell silent. Jin Ling had already broken through to the 9-star level. If even he couldn’t catch the intruder, then it had to be a high-rank beast soul.
"With his abilities, catching wild beasts outside shouldn’t be a problem at all. Why co into the tribe?"
"He even headed for the inner city last night. I’ll strengthen the defenses. You watch the cubs for the next few days."
"Okay."
Qiao Xixi was unaware of what was happening in the tribe. She was currently pondering whether she could bring the raw materials for refining Crystal Stones back to the tribe with an Instant Teleportation Card.
She opened the store page and carefully read the rules for the Instant Teleportation Card. As expected, there was a weight limit; she couldn’t exceed it.
That ant the large quantity of Salt Crystals would have to be transported back manually.
"You go back with Xiya and Sangze first. I’ll escort the Salt Crystals and the materials."
Qiao Xixi snapped back to reality and looked at Sunxiao. ’How did he know I was worried about the Salt Crystals?’
"But the journey is so long..."
Sunxiao looked down at her. "You can’t bear for to go?"
Qiao Xixi turned and hugged him. Looking up into his eyes, she nodded. "Mhm."
The journey was too far. Of course she was worried.
"Xixi, I’ll go with Sunxiao."
Sangze looked at Qiao Xixi with puppy-dog eyes. ’If I go with him, will Xixi not be able to bear my leaving, too? Will she co hug ?’
But before Qiao Xixi could even speak, Sunxiao refused.
"You’re going back with Xixi."
Sangze frowned. "Sunxiao, are you looking down on ?"
Sunxiao’s gaze was cold and severe. "Yes."
