If Qiao Lie hadn’t understood what "co back alive" ant before, he certainly did after being brought to the Beast Fighting Arena.
The ground of the arena under his feet was covered in dried bloodstains, so of which had turned black.
There was no telling how much beast-man blood had been spilled upon it.
Darkness surrounded them, with only the faint moonlight illuminating the ground, allowing them to see the fear on each other’s faces.
Qiao Lie heard the grinding of a stone gate.
A mont later, a foul, coppery stench assaulted his nostrils.
He turned his head and was abruptly t with pair after pair of glowing green eyes.
"ROAR!"
The released beasts roared and charged toward them.
Qiao Xixi stood by the window, her heart leaping in her chest as she heard the roars coming from the darkness.
"Qiao Lie..."
"DING!"
"Host, please have cub Qiao Lie complete one fight against a beast. Mission difficulty: 4 stars."
Qiao Xixi’s expression darkened. "I don’t even know where Qiao Lie is right now."
"Host, the system’s missions are sotis issued based on the cubs’ current situation."
"What do you an?"
"Er... what I an is, it might, perhaps be... is it possible that cub Qiao Lie is in the Beast Fighting Arena right now... about to start a fight?"
The system’s voice trailed off weakly by the end.
"Are you saying Qiao Lie is in the Beast Fighting Arena right now!?"
"Er, it seems so."
"Why didn’t you tell sooner!"
Qiao Xixi glanced at the Wild Bull Demon Beast guarding the door. If she went out the front, she would definitely be discovered.
She was on the top floor of the building, at least twenty ters high. Jumping down was not an option.
Qiao Xixi glanced at the Wild Bull Demon Beast outside the door, walked over, and suddenly threw the door open.
The instant the door opened, she quickly donned the Invisibility Cloak, walked to the bed, and lay down.

He walked to the door and inspected it, but he couldn’t find anything wrong. He had no choice but to continue guarding outside.
After waiting a while, Qiao Xixi got out of bed, fluffed up the blankets to look like a person, and put on the Invisibility Cloak.
She opened the door again, and this ti, wearing the cloak, slipped outside.
This ti, the Wild Bull Demon Beast didn’t go in to check, just as she’d hoped. He simply slamd the door shut.
Qiao Xixi took the opportunity to slip away.
She rembered the way she had co and noticed that every entrance and exit was guarded by demon beasts.
She had to get out within five minutes.
She was just about to reach the main gate when she saw the two demon beasts guarding it preparing to close it.
Gritting her teeth, Qiao Xixi charged forward, bumping into one of the demon beasts.
The demon beast looked back curiously but saw nothing.
"Why did you just hit ?"
He shoved the other demon beast, who slapped him across the face in annoyance.
"Pay attention. *This* is hitting you."
The two demon beasts started brawling at the slightest provocation, completely failing to notice Qiao Xixi hiding in the shadows.
Ti was up. The Invisibility Cloak’s effect wore off.
"System, show the path to the Beast Fighting Arena with the fewest demon beasts."
"Host, this area is heavily guarded by demon beasts. Every path is watched, but I will choose the one with the fewest."
"Okay."
"Host, be careful. A demon beast patrol is heading this way."
Qiao Xixi quickly hid in a dark corner.
A short while later, a squad of demon beasts walked in her direction.
Qiao Xixi held her breath. Just as the demon beasts were about to walk past her, they suddenly stopped.
The one in the lead, a black dog demon beast, sniffed the air.
"What’s that fragrant sll?"
Hearing this, the other demon beasts also started sniffing.
"It’s the scent of a female."
Qiao Xixi’s heart leaped into her throat.
"A female? Why would a female be here? Let’s go, let’s go. We’ll go to the female’s den when our shift is over."
Seeing them walk away, Qiao Xixi quickly erged from the shadows and ran forward.
"Host, the door ahead is locked. You can’t go this way. However, there’s a crack in the stone to your right. A normal demon beast is too large to pass through, but you can."
As she neared the end of the path, she saw a crack in the stone on her right, just as the system had said.
A normal demon beast really wouldn’t be able to get through this crack.
She turned sideways and shuffled little by little into the crevice.
As she neared the end, she heard the earth-shaking roar of a beast.
"ROAR!"
Qiao Lie was thrown violently to the ground.
A three-horned bull beast, snorting hot air from its nostrils, pawed the ground and charged at Qiao Lie.
Qiao Lie tried to get up, but his leg had been struck by the bull beast’s horn, and the pain was so intense he couldn’t stand.
Qiao Lie clenched his fists, his mind filled with the image of Qiao Xixi’s gentle, smiling face.
"Mother, Mother..."
"Our Qiao Lie is the best. He’ll never lose! You can do it!"
’Mother, I... I will never give up!’
Qiao Lie gritted his teeth and quickly transford into his snake form. The instant the three-horned bull beast charged, he coiled himself around its neck.
"MOO!"
The three-horned bull beast bellowed, shaking its head frantically, trying to throw Qiao Lie off.
Qiao Lie did not have an Awakened Beast Soul, and with his strength alone, he couldn’t possibly withstand the force of the three-horned bull beast’s thrashing.
Just as he was about to lose his grip, a bright red light burst from his body.
The blinding red light shot into the center of Qiao Lie’s brow, and the illusory image of a giant, crimson python suddenly appeared above the three-horned bull beast.
The three-horned bull beast, which had been struggling a second before, went lifeless the next instant and collapsed with a thud.
The red light above Qiao Lie’s head instantly retracted back into his body.
This scene startled Hei Lun, who was passing by.
He pointed in Qiao Lie’s direction and asked, "What’s the situation with that cub just now?" ’To think he awakened a one-star Beast Soul.’
"Mr. Hei, that’s the snake cub you captured this ti."
Hei Lun frowned. "Why does that snake cub have Sunxiao’s scent on him?"
"Mr. Hei, the snake cub was thrown into Sunxiao’s cell."
A strange look appeared in Hei Lun’s eyes.
"Sunxiao didn’t kill him? But snake beast-n are the most cold-blooded."
None of the demon beasts could answer this question.
"Throw him back in Sunxiao’s cell and observe him in secret."
"Yes."

"DING!"
"Congratulations, Host. Cub Qiao Lie has completed the system mission."
"Please check for your reward."
Qiao Xixi stopped in her tracks, stunned.
"You’re saying... Qiao Lie completed the fighting mission?"
