Chapter 1178: Chapter 1177: Battle with Evil Thought Kui Mountain Ghost
Xu Zii thought for a mont; he indeed needed to go to the Ghost God Realm.
Without using the Heavenly Saint Academy’s Teleportation Array, other arrays would likely cost him a significant amount of ti.
He glanced at Jiang Mozi and asked, “How do we contact the Nine Ghosts Academy?”
“Between our Heavenly Saint Academy and Nine Ghosts Academy, there’s an Array Barrier.
Most tis, writing on the Array Barrier allows people at the Nine Ghosts Academy to see it,” Jiang Mozi replied.
“But Evil Thought also knows about this, and he’s likely guarding the Array Barrier at all tis.
We’ll need to distract him,” Jiang Mozi continued.
“I’ll handle luring him away. Changliu, use that chance to pass on the ssage with the dean,” Xu Zii said.
This Evil Thought connects deeply to everything, especially since it aligns with what Abyss Elder said earlier.
Evil Thought and Kui are one entity; neither can die without the other.
If that’s the case, Kui will undoubtedly protect Evil Thought at all costs.
Xu Zii found it botherso and decided distracting him was the best course of action.
These matters were better resolved internally by the Nine Ghosts Academy themselves.
After the three discussed at length, Xu Zii left the Forbidden Land alone.
Currently, the Heavenly Saint Academy bore a desolate atmosphere.
Walking along the road, he scarcely spotted the shadow of a single student.
Judging by the academy’s scale, it had likely been illustrious once, but ever since the true dean had been trapped in the Cangwu Abyss,
and Evil Thought assud the dean’s position, its decline began.
Xu Zii made his way step by step to where he previously encountered the elderly Evil Thought.
The elder stood at the front of a house, broom in hand, calmly sweeping fallen leaves.
He exuded extraordinary temperant, completely devoid of any sinister aura.
As Xu Zii’s footsteps echoed, the elder slowly lifted his head, a fleeting hint of surprise on his face.
“We et again?” Xu Zii leaned casually against a nearby tree and smirked.
The elder remained silent, rely gazing at Xu Zii.
“Weren’t you supposed to help us lure out Evil Thought? Why didn’t you show up?” Xu Zii asked.
The elder stayed wordless.
“I’ve already inford Nine Ghosts Academy,” Xu Zii continued with a smile.
As his voice fell, a tangible killing intent surged forth.
Though nothing around seed to change, an unsettling chill perated the air.
Even the sunlight’s warmth felt diminished, as though even space itself had grown cold.
“Now that you’ve narrowly escaped death, why not quietly leave Heaven Holy Mountain? Why wade into these turbulent waters?” the elder asked blandly.
“I almost got trapped in the Cangwu Abyss—how could I not repay such a favor?” Xu Zii replied with a grin.
Slowly, Xu Zii drew the long blade from his back. As the blade erged, a surge of Demonic Qi exploded toward the heavens, seemingly tearing the void itself.
The biting aura radiated from the blade.
“Youngsters never understand until they feel true pain and terror,” the elder remarked, casually waving a hand. The broom in his hand instantly flew toward Xu Zii.
Xu Zii wielded the Tyrant Shadow, the blade’s edge sharp as it cleaved forward.
With a sharp “clang,” the broom was effortlessly sliced in two.
Xu Zii stepped forward with his right foot, the blade leading the charge as he attacked the elder.
The elder, wrapped in a gray robe, exuded formidable power. His right hand condensed Spiritual Energy into the shape of a sphere.
The sphere clashed against the Tyrant Shadow.
Unexpectedly, the Tyrant Shadow’s sharpness exceeded the elder’s predictions, shattering the Spiritual Energy sphere and severing his hand entirely.
“Excellent blade,” the elder praised before retreating swiftly.
His loose, flowing robe billowed wildly, and ferocious Demonic Qi surged explosively skyward.
Xu Zii noticed the severed arm regenerating before his eyes.
He realized the elder’s emaciated fra—previously hidden under the expansive robe—was skeletal.
Beneath his neck, crimson, vein-like tendrils seed poised to burst from his body.
When he opened his mouth, thick, crimson liquid oozed out, alongside rows of jagged teeth.
The elder dropped to all fours, his gaze predatory, locking on Xu Zii like prey.
In a blink, he lunged, his speed faster than lightning.
Xu Zii shifted his stance slightly, evading the elder’s attack. As they crossed paths, he swung the Tyrant Shadow horizontally in front of him.
With a sickening “thud,” the blade cleaved the elder cleanly in half.
Black blood sprayed everywhere in torrents.
However, being bisected had little effect on the elder. His separated upper and lower halves each moved independently, encircling Xu Zii.
Both halves charged simultaneously.
Malevolent Qi surged as the upper half opened its gaping maw while the lower half’s toenails, sharp as swords, struck.
Two attacks descended simultaneously, but Xu Zii swung his right hand, driving the Tyrant Shadow straight into the blood-filled maw.
Using the montum, he launched into the air with his right foot, kicking the elder’s lower half away.
The two figures passed each other.
Black blood pooled profusely as the elder collapsed, groaning weakly.
Xu Zii swung his blade and began advancing toward the elder step by step.
Just then, tendrils of black Demonic Qi began to rise from the elder’s body, spiraling upward.
The density of the Demonic Qi increased, surging stronger and stronger.
Eventually, the Firmant above Heaven Holy Mountain turned completely black, resembling an oppressive storm-cloud pressing upon the city.
As the Demonic Qi erged, the elder’s body transford into a simple corpse on the ground.
A chorus of sinister, chilling cries began to echo from the void.
From the swirling Demonic Qi erged a creature.
The creature—Mountain Ghost Kui—instantly revealed itself.
Although it represented only half of Evil Thought’s form, its likeness was eerily identical.
To Xu Zii’s surprise, Mountain Ghost Kui turned out to be a woman.
She wore a gray corset-like garnt, her pale shoulders glowing faintly under the light.
Her gray clothing was adorned with countless ribbons,
and from behind her sprouted dozens of gray-white tails, each covered in dense, spiraling fur.
Her hair floated upward in countless strands, resembling miniature versions of her tails.
At the center of her chest blood a dark flower of Demonic Qi.
This flower seed to pulse as the very source of evil, radiating death and slaughter.
The woman’s blackened eyes gazed coolly at Xu Zii.
With a simple motion of her right hand, a lethal black lotus blood above Xu Zii’s head.
The blooming lotus emitted countless crystal-like arrows, sharp and deadly, forming within.
Evil Thought Kui waved her hand, unleashing the barrage of crystal arrows toward Xu Zii.
Xu Zii retreated swiftly, but the arrows seed infinite, piercing the earth with a corrosive effect imdiately upon impact.
His expression tightened as he surged into the air. Tyrant Shadow roared forth like a torrent, slashing toward Evil Thought Kui.
She countered with a downward strike of her other hand. A deafening “bang” erupted as an imnse force blasted him down to the ground.
Behind her, the dozens of tails swayed, releasing torrents of sinister Qi, charging toward Xu Zii.
The tails were thick yet furred.
One tail swung horizontally, Xu Zii caught it with a single hand.
The tail flung him skyward.
Soon after, the rest of the tails followed, encircling Xu Zii.
Binding his arms and legs, they stretched outward as if attempting to tear him limb from limb.
