Chapter 1227: Chapter 1226: Obtaining the Map, Ghost Crown Prince, Evil Demon Tower (First Update)

Xu Zii stopped in his tracks, gazing at Ji Jiuning with a half-smile.

“The North Fox is in this village,” Ji Jiuning replied.

“Did you sense it just now, or had you already noticed it when we first entered the village?” Xu Zii asked.

“Nothing can escape the eyes of Young Master Xu,” Ji Jiuning smiled faintly.

“But just now, that Seven Kill…”

“Don’t ask questions you shouldn’t,” Xu Zii directly interrupted her.

Ji Jiuning nodded slightly, continuing her search within the village.

Her figure moved through several streets, stepping over the corpses of whitewood trees, as green blood scattered into the air.

Eventually, she stopped in front of a grove of whitewood trees.

Thousands of whitewood trees grew here, but they were different from those in the village.

These trees lacked spiritual intelligence and had only recently sprouted, still in their nurturing phase.

Above the whitewood trees were amber-like yellow spheres, dim yet glimring.

These spheres nurtured their spiritual intelligence, resembling fruits; once mature and fallen, the trees would beco cultivators.

This might explain how Whitewood Village propagated itself.

“Dig,” Ji Jiuning commanded, stopping at an empty patch in the forest.

As her foot made contact with the ground, the earth instantly cracked.

Her right palm struck the ground, creating a deep pit in the clearing as moist soil erupted skyward.

Countless white bones and partially decomposed corpses were flung out.

Ji Jiuning’s eyes rapidly scanned the pile of corpses.

“They hunt other creatures and use the nutrients from corpses to nourish these whitewood trees, enabling them to generate spiritual intelligence,” Ji Jiuning remarked coldly.

“This village is no place of virtue.”

With this realization, Ji Jiuning had a feeling. It was likely the person who last entered from the Northern Hill had t their end here.

As the mound of corpses grew larger, resembling a towering hill, it seed to draw the attention of so being.

From the depths of the whitewood forest ca a series of low growls; rustling sounds cut through the ground covered with leaves, erging from all directions.

“Watch out,” Xu Zii shouted.

As his voice fell, innurable vines broke through the leaf-covered ground, attacking Ji Jiuning and Xu Zii.

Their bodies spun mid-air, dodging the endless onslaught of vines.

Ji Jiuning let out a sharp cry, planting her feet on several vines while grasping others with her hands.

“Leave this place,” a voice, aged and weary, erged from the depths.

“Who are you?” Ji Jiuning demanded.

“Whitewood Village has been slaughtered. Let this be their remaining seeds,” the aged voice replied calmly, without direct answer.

“We’re not here to destroy the seeds, rely searching for a corpse,” Ji Jiuning answered.

“The corpse of a North Fox.”

The aged voice went silent for a long mont before the ground began to tremble violently.

The surrounding whitewood trees swayed, and a colossal ancient whitewood tree surged from the earth.

This thousand-ter-long tree bore grayish whiskers on its sides, as if it were the heavens themselves, towering over everyone.

A thick vine fell from above, stirring the land into chaos.

It felt as if a gravitational force descended from the sky.

Amid the erging cracks in the earth, a massive North Fox skeleton slowly rose into the air.

“It’s from our Northern Hill,” Ji Jiuning exclaid excitedly.

The skeletal remains were dropped before Ji Jiuning, as the aged voice spoke again.

“Take it and leave!”

Ji Jiuning gazed at the skeleton. Though the flesh had decayed, the ice-like, alabaster bones unmistakably confird its identity.

Ji Jiuning raised her hands, wisps of purple energy mixed with white spiritual energy floated above the skeleton.

Ji Jiuning seed to be ditating on sothing, her eyes closed.

After a short while, her eyes shot open. “I’ve found it.”

“Monster Realm, open,” she exclaid, her tightly clasped hands pulling apart as if tearing the void before her.

Instantly, monstrous winds howled, accompanied by swirling yellow sands.

The void before them fractured repeatedly, and a black box erged from its depths.

“Let’s go,” Ji Jiuning grabbed the box and bolted out of the whitewood forest.

The two left Whitewood Village in haste, and within monts, the ancient whitewood tree descended with a torrent of wind and vines, enclosing the entire village.

Thus comncing a sealing that forbade any entry.

“This is it,” Ji Jiuning said as she opened the box, revealing two items.

A map made from beast hide and the demon core of the North Fox.

Ji Jiuning discreetly pocketed the demon core, then handed the map to Xu Zii.

The North Fox demon core held no value for him, so Xu Zii did not insist on taking it and unfolded the map.

Although the beast hide was well-preserved, its age had caused so decay to the map.

“This is Whitewood Village,” Ji Jiuning quickly identified their location.

Xu Zii nodded slightly, glancing at the map before looking ahead.

“Up ahead lies the Evil Demon Tower.”

The map displayed a towering black spire, alongside the words: “Sealing site of the Evil Demon’s limbs.”

Xu Zii rolled up the map, saying, “Let’s go.”

“The Evil Demon Tower is at the borderlands. We don’t know who might be there,” Ji Jiuning suggested.

“Why don’t we head to Hell Sea instead? It’s the central area of this battlefield of ultimate confrontation.

Eventually, everyone will converge there.”

Xu Zii shook his head slightly.

Indeed, the map depicted four evil demon towers standing at the four corners of the borderlands.

But Xu Zii was deeply curious about what the Evil Demon Tower was and the purpose of the White Emperor.

This journey was one he needed to undertake.

Ji Jiuning followed closely behind him, and after journeying through the skies for about ten minutes, they finally saw a towering spire looming on the horizon, drenched in ominous energy.

Even the firmant above was obscured by the dark aura.

“What an overpowering evil presence,” Ji Jiuning remarked.

“Let’s take a look,” Xu Zii responded.

As the two approached the spire’s base, they saw its many levels cloaked in swirling black energy.

Amidst the black mist, a strand of purple gas drifted about, traveling from the lowest level to the topmost tower.

“Release , release ,” a hoarse voice repeated endlessly.

“Look, there’s soone above the tower,” Ji Jiuning shouted, pointing to the top of the Evil Demon Tower.

Xu Zii followed her gaze.

Atop the spire, a crimson figure sat cross-legged, streams of black energy continuously flowing into his body.

The figure was a man.

His long hair, curled into ringlets, coiled tightly around his temples.

His eyes were deeply black, his lips a chilling violet hue.

“That’s the Ghost Prince, one of Sin Prison’s people,” Xu Zii remarked with a nod.
