Chapter 1241: Chapter 1240 Forgetfulness Village, the Ancient Clear Spring, Speaking of Kinship
The size of Chaotic Burial Valley exceeded Xu Zii’s imagination.
Stretching across hundreds of thousands of square kiloters from east to west, the vast valley almost encompassed half of the Half-Ghost Domain.
There were countless tombstones and burial pits scattered here.
The reason was simple: this was the resting place for all those who perished during the ancient Ghost God conflict.
There were gods buried here, and also ghosts.
Arriving here, one could even faintly hear the wailing of the ghost gods.
The place was desolate, devoid of human presence, save for pitch-black crows and ominous vultures, devoid of any living creatures.
Beneath the black soil, fragnts of white bones often erged half-buried, creating an unsettling sight.
Xu Zii descended from the gloom-filled sky, landing at the entrance of the Chaotic Burial Valley.
Behind him, the massive figure of Crimson Blade Bull Demon followed closely.
Though Xu Zii had departed early, as a Great Saint, the Crimson Blade Bull Demon was naturally much faster.
Being able to sense Xu Zii’s location, catching up was inevitable.
“The battle is over,” Xu Zii said.
“How did it go?”
“That Mad Chu is truly domineering; I couldn’t even intervene,” Crimson Blade Bull Demon chuckled.
“The Evil Demon King has temporarily backed off, likely waiting for his peak strength to return before fighting again.”
“That has nothing to do with us anymore,” Xu Zii responded.
“Once we obtain the heritage of Ju Mang, the Wood God, it’s ti to leave the Ghost God Realm.”
“The death aura here is so overwhelming,” Crimson Blade Bull Demon nodded, glancing at the valley.
An ordinary person might sense only its eerie atmosphere, but as soone who had reached the Great Saint Realm and mastered Entering the Microscopic, he could perceive much more.
The death aura spanned tens of thousands of miles; any ordinary person entering it would be reduced to bones by the aura almost instantly.
“Master, the death aura in this place is too thick. Even if you enter, you won’t be able to stay long,” Crimson Blade Bull Demon cautioned.
“It’s too dangerous here—just how many lives were lost in this place.”
“I don’t know how many, but I heard that after the battle, this Ghost God Realm never saw light again,” Xu Zii replied.
“From then on, the sun sank; one can imagine the fierceness of that clash.”
“Let’s not enter Chaotic Burial Valley just yet. Let’s look around the vicinity—there might be another way.”
“On my way here, I saw a village at the foot of the mountain. Master, perhaps we could inquire there,” Crimson Blade Bull Demon suggested.
Xu Zii nodded.
The valley was situated atop a high slope, and as he descended the slope, lush greenery burst into view beneath—a vibrant forest brimming with life.
Unlike the lifeless, deathly atmosphere on the high slope, here there were chirping birds, fragrant blossoms, and shady trees—a completely different world.
Descending the mountain, Xu Zii noticed a small village entrance marked by two towering ginseng trees.
These ginseng trees bore no Ginseng Fruit; rather, their trunks resembled humanoid forms, appearing ancient and strange.
Oddly, the ginseng tree on the left had two extraordinarily long whiskers.
“Young man, welco to Forgetfulness Village,” the ginseng tree spoke, startling Xu Zii as he arrived at the village entrance.
“Forgetfulness Village,” Xu Zii muttered softly.
“You must be heading to Chaotic Burial Valley?” the ginseng tree asked again.
“How do you know?” Xu Zii inquired.
“This place rarely sees visitors. People who co here are almost always headed to Chaotic Burial Valley,” the ginseng tree replied.
“Do you have any solutions for this?” Xu Zii asked.
“The death aura in Chaotic Burial Valley is extrely heavy; crossing it won’t be easy.”
“In our Forgetfulness Village, we have a magical spring called the Ancient Spring.
Drink its water, and you can pass through Chaotic Burial Valley freely without being affected,” the ginseng tree at the entrance explained.
“How can I obtain this spring water?” Xu Zii asked.
“Don’t rush things. A guest from afar should be welcod warmly first!” the ginseng tree laughed heartily.
With a wave of its muscular branches, the air trembled as Forgetfulness Village buzzed with activity.
Several hearty laughs echoed from within the village, and soon a group of elderly figures approached. These elders appeared to have lived countless years.
They wore clothing woven from leaves, their beards appeared as tree whiskers, and even their hair took on the resemblance of leafy shapes—as though they were beings who rged human and tree attributes.
Each seed to be ancient tree spirits cultivated over millennia.
“Greetings, young master, and welco to Forgetfulness Village.
We’ve prepared a banquet and hope you’ll join us,” the leading elder greeted with a jovial smile.
“I’m here to request so Ancient Spring water,” Xu Zii stated.
“Stay with us today and enjoy yourself. Tomorrow, before you leave, we will naturally give you spring water,” the elder replied.
Xu Zii furrowed his brow slightly but said nothing as he followed the elder into the village.
Entering the village, Xu Zii was surprised to discover that aside from the elders, the population was made up entirely of stunningly beautiful won.
They lined the streets holding flower garlands, warmly welcoming Xu Zii.
“What is the aning of this?” Xu Zii asked.
“It’s simply our Forgetfulness Village’s way of welcoming guests, young master,” the elder replied with a gentle smile.
Following the elder’s lead, Xu Zii arrived at an open clearing within the village.
The clearing was adorned with a feast: cakes, fruits, and wines that filled the air with rich fragrances.
The enticing aroma imdiately set Xu Zii’s mind at ease, making him feel utterly relaxed and even a bit enchanted.
By now, the sky had dimd.
“Please, young master,” the elder gestured, inviting Xu Zii to take the seat of honor.
The elder and his companions then seated themselves nearby. Suddenly, bonfires ignited on both sides, bringing the atmosphere to life.
Music filled the air, and under the flickering light, a woman clad in garnts of Western Region style stepped gracefully into the bonfire’s center, her steps enchanting as she began to dance.
“Drink, young master,” the elder said, raising his cup with a smile toward Xu Zii.
Feeling relaxed for once, Xu Zii did not hesitate and raised his cup, drinking deeply.
As the wine flowed through him, warmth surged from within, spreading through his entire body, soothing his soul.
“Excellent wine,” he remarked with a sigh.
“Young master, what is your purpose in heading to Chaotic Burial Valley?” the elder asked with a laugh.
“My ho is in the Half-Ghost Domain,” Xu Zii replied casually.
“Does your family still reside there?” the elder inquired further.
“It has been a long ti since I returned. I do not know how many remain,” Xu Zii said with a shake of his head.
“About the Ancient Spring water, I leave it in the elder’s hands.”
“No trouble at all,” the elder said, pointing to the woman dancing at the center of the celebration, smiling as he introduced her.
“This is my youngest daughter, now twenty years of age.
She is skilled in music, chess, calligraphy, and painting—a virtuous and graceful young lady. What do you think of her, young master?”
“Elder, surely you aren’t thinking of matchmaking?” Xu Zii chuckled.
“Chaotic Burial Valley is rife with Yin Souls, perilous and unpredictable. The journey ahead is uncertain.
Young master, why not stay here, marry my daughter, and live out your days peacefully in Forgetfulness Village?
A life free of worry—wouldn’t that be wonderful?” the elder said with a hearty laugh.
