Chapter 1288: Chapter 1287: Dragon King, Monster Mirror Reaction
Seeing Xu Zii approach the coffin, Qi Kuangyin’s expression involuntarily grew tense.
He knew there was no hope of escaping, given Xu Zii’s strength, he certainly couldn’t leave alive.
With things having reached this point, he had no choice but to give it his all and fight one last ti.
Wu Zhaodi’s Tianluan attacked, and this ti Qi Kuangyin didn’t dodge, taking the blow head-on.
A “boom” accompanied by Tianluan’s screech created an explosion, opening a bloody hole on Qi Kuangyin’s back.
Using the force, he flew backward toward the coffin.
Xu Zii shook his head and smirked but didn’t stop him.
Qi Kuangyin crashed into the coffin awkwardly, creating a sound that echoed like a bell.
He fiercely hugged one end of the coffin as blood from his head flowed continuously.
“The inheritance is mine, it’s mine, no one can take it,” he frantically said, using both hands to push the lid open.
Yet the mont the coffin loosened, a decayed aura spread out, though only a smidgen, it instantly wrapped around Qi Kuangyin.
His life force was absorbed, turning him into a desiccated white bone in a flash.
The white bone fell off the coffin, Wu Zhaodi’s expression turned grave as she moved closer to Xu Zii.
“Successors, fulfill my condition, and the inheritance shall be yours.”
A voice emanated from the coffin, and simultaneously, the eight Ancestral Dragon bones suspending above began to vibrate.
Resounding dragon roars echoed, intertwining, constantly impacting Xu Zii and Wu Zhaodi’s hearts.
The dragon bones swayed within the not so spacious grand hall, appearing mighty and imposing.
“What condition?” Wu Zhaodi asked.
Actually, she wasn’t much interested in the inheritance; having killed Qi Kuangyin unbeknownst to anyone, she had achieved her goal.
“Escort my coffin to the Cangxuan Realm,” the voice from the coffin said.
“Not only will you receive the inheritance, you’ll be allowed to join the Sixteen Monster Race.”
“How can we trust you?” Xu Zii laughed.
“Why don’t you climb out of the coffin, let see your true form?”
“You dare speak to like this,” the voice inside the coffin scoffed.
“If you’re unwilling, then we won’t take the inheritance,” Xu Zii shook his head and said.
“Now that you’ve co here, the choice of receiving the inheritance is beyond you.”
As the voice fell silent, the eight dragon bones ca alive, erging from the void.
Suspended in the void, the eight dragon bones imposed their granite-like presence, watching Xu Zii and Wu Zhaodi with rciless intent.
“Either escort to Cangxuan Realm, and the promised benefits won’t be scarce.
Or die now.”
“You’re making it easier for ,” Xu Zii smiled.
“Today, I’ll drag you from this coffin.”
He took a step in the air, appearing in front of the coffin in an instant, his foot crashing down hard atop the coffin.
Yet the coffin’s rigidity exceeded expectations, producing just a muffled sound without any sign of breaking.
On the side, the eight dragon bones exploded into a frenzy, all charging at him.
The dragon bones ford a formation, occupying eight positions out of sixteen in the void, giving Xu Zii no chance to escape.
“Don’t worry, I didn’t intend to flee,” Xu Zii laughed.
He raised his right hand, grabbing a descending dragon bone, imdiately pulling up the entire Ancestral Dragon, wielding it like a weapon.
The remaining seven Ancestral Dragons were all struck flying away, Xu Zii’s power was incredible.
The whirlpool within him kept swirling.
“Break,” he shouted aloud.
The dragon bone was thrown onto the coffin, hard bone spurs pierced into the coffin, Xu Zii’s foot descended once more.
The coffin, unable to bear the weight, ultimately shattered.
The iron chains hanging in the void began to break, and from the fragnted coffin, a mass of black gas erupted.
Following the black gas, a sinister and terrifying figure slowly rose.
The breath it exhaled was corpse breath.
“Dragon King?” Xu Zii murmured to himself.
The figure was human-bodied with a dragon head, but its body was shrouded in corpse aura, clearly long deceased, devoid of any dragon might, only deathly aura.
“Should I call you Ancestral Dragon or Zombie?” Xu Zii asked with a smile.
“Young one, you’ve committed a grave sin unbeknownst to you,” the Dragon King spoke.
“I’ve slumbered for tens of thousands of years, finally grasping a chance at life, only for you to ruin it.”
“What of it, I ca for you, am I supposed to be afraid?” Xu Zii responded.
“Ca for ? You’re not afraid of ?” the Dragon King asked surprised.
Xu Zii chuckled, slowly withdrawing the Monster Mirror.
He had to be sure whether it worked on the Dragon King, as the Monster Mirror was only effective on the Sixteen Monster Race.
If the Dragon King wasn’t from the Sixteen Monster Race, it couldn’t be captured by the Monster Mirror.
When the Monster Mirror appeared, Xu Zii flipped open the first page, which featured the Arrogant Beast he captured.
He turned to the second page, a light shining as bright as heaven shot from it.
In the void, it began sketching an image.
A nine-clawed Golden Dragon, its body resplendent in gold, dragon horns in purple-gold, eyes gleaming like Dragon Balls, golden in hue.
Majestic and grand in appearance.
“This, this is,” upon seeing the nine-clawed Golden Dragon, even the Ancestral Dragon montarily grew lost.
“It’s hopeful,” Xu Zii smiled.
The Monster Mirror reacted to the Ancestral Dragon, aning it could be captured.
With a wave of his right hand, a surge of dragon energy flew from the Monster Mirror, charging toward the Ancestral Dragon.
The Ancestral Dragon snapped back, its form fiercely resisting.
It imdiately spat deathly Blazing Fla, snuffing the dragon energy in the void.
“Who are you?” the Ancestral Dragon roared angrily.
“A dying dragon doesn’t need to ask all that,” Xu Zii said.
“Stop struggling, or you’ll suffer in vain.”
He drew his blade, Tyrant Shadow swept with countless Blade Intent, cutting through the entire grand hall.
Countless stones fell, as if the hall were about to collapse.
“You should wait outside for ,” Xu Zii turned to Wu Zhaodi and said.
After all, she couldn’t participate in this battle.
“Be careful,” Wu Zhaodi reminded him, swiftly retreating outside.
Tyrant Shadow struck heavily, Blade Intent fell upon the Ancestral Dragon’s belly, showing no blood, only churning corpse aura.
“Get down,” Xu Zii grasped Tyrant Shadow with both hands, forcing the massive body of the Ancestral Dragon down.
Plumting from the void.
“Kid, I will avenge this,” the Ancestral Dragon uttered hatefully.
Then its enormous form shrank, like a loach, fleeing into the distance.
Xu Zii frowned, hastily pursuing.
The adjacent eight dragon bones transford into bone chains, blocking his way.
