Chapter 1316: Chapter 1315 Conflict, Demonic Voice
Unknowingly, the sky gradually cleared and brightened again.
Xu Zii stretched lazily, the book in his hand had already reached the last page.
“Finished reading,” he exhaled deeply and took a gentle sip of the hot tea beside him.
It seed as if the tiredness from the whole night had been dispelled.
“Thanks,” Xu Zii stood up and said.
“I still have to go to Triumph Hall. I’ll co back when I get a chance.”
“I’m always here, you can co anyti,” the elderly man nodded and said.
Xu Zii nodded and then left the Rest Hall of Books.
It wasn’t until Xu Zii’s figure disappeared that the ragged old man at the academy’s entrance walked in.
He looked at the Demon Sage and asked, “You know him?”
“I know him,” the Demon Sage nodded.
“What a joke, that kid is so young,” the ragged old man was evidently skeptical.
“You’ll understand in the future,” the Demon Sage was unwilling to explain more; he rely gazed out the window, looking into the horizon.
He said, “I thought these old bones of mine would be buried in this Demon Realm, but it seems there’s a chance to erge.”
“Where are you going?” The ragged old man seed sowhat confused.
“To traverse the peak of those Nine Domains once again,” the Demon Sage laughed.
After saying this, he saw that the ragged old man was already dumbfounded, his mouth wide open.
He seed sowhat disbelieving of what had just been said.
“Has Demon Sage gone book-blind from reading too much?” he even muttered secretly to himself.
“You don’t understand, rare is the muddle-headed, rare indeed,” the Demon Sage laughed heartily as he left.
……
Triumph Hall signifies the triumphant return.
In fact, many strong figures of the Demon Race leave behind their inheritance.
But they won’t leave it to their successors for free; there must be so trials.
The trials aren’t dangerous, but if you’re careless, it could cost your life.
That’s why the Triumph Hall was established.
The hope is that disciples who undergo trials will return safely and obtain the inheritance.
When Xu Zii arrived, he found dozens of young n and won already gathered here.
These people were from different Demon races, so gathered in fives, so in threes, chatting away.
Seeing Xu Zii arrive, Wang Li, who was eagerly awaiting him in the crowd, had been waiting for quite so ti.
He hurriedly ca forward and laughed, “Brother Xu, you’ve been away for a while; I was quite worried.”
“Worried about what, afraid I wouldn’t co?” Xu Zii asked.
“Not really, but the trial of the Demonic Path is about to begin, and I was worried Brother Xu might miss it,” Wang Li replied, afraid there might be a gap between them.
“Not very likely,” Xu Zii shook his head.
The five stood together as Wang Li explained the basics of the Demonic Path to Xu Zii.
The Demonic Path, just as its na suggests, is a single Great Dao.
Not vast lands but rely an endless Great Dao, though boundless it is.
The road is populated by many demons.
Of course, these demons aren’t actual demons but powers left behind by the Evil Demon.
You could say it kills one, and there’s one less.
But even within a millennium, so many have entered the Demonic Path, and countless demons have been slain, yet inheritance remains unseen.
So even die from exhaustion within, unable to reach the end of the path.
“Could it be so kind of illusion?” Xu Zii guessed after hearing their conversation.
“Probably not,” Wang Li replied.
“There have been suspicions before, but unfortunately, no flaws have been found, so it seems to truly exist.”
While they were talking, a group of people suddenly ca over from the side.
“Wang Li,” the leader of that group of people was a sowhat arrogant young man.
He wore a black robe with a redhorned demon drawn on his chest.
Xu Zii had flipped through the book the night before and knew that this image should represent the Fire Demon.
They dwell in the northwest mountains of the Demon Realm, where a few endless volcanoes reside.
Seeing the approaching people, Wang Li’s expression also cooled montarily, responding, “Hong Ze, what’s up?”
“I heard you’ve gathered a team, so I ca to see what kind of misfits they are,” laughed the young man nad Hong Ze.
“Don’t go too far,” Wang Li’s gaze sharpened as he coldly said.
“Too far?” Hong Ze laughed heartily, then turned his gaze towards Xu Zii.
“Are you the one who ignored my words and joined them?”
“Ignoring your words, why should I listen to you?” Xu Zii retorted.
“Good kid, got guts,” Hong Ze sneered.
Then he approached a few steps and said flatly, “But rember this, kid, the Demonic Path also has life or death.
Protect yourself well.”
“Hong Ze, don’t threaten us,” Wang Li perhaps feared Xu Zii would be scared, quickly stepping forward to say.
“The price of mutual killing among the Demon Race, you know what it is.”
“Price, dead n don’t talk,” Hong Ze laughed, then left with a few people.
Leaving Wang Li and his group with difficult expressions.
“Brother Xu……,” Wang Li wanted to explain sothing but was interrupted by Xu Zii.
“What I fear least is threats,” Xu Zii shook his head and said.
“Tell , what’s the background of this Hong Ze?”
“His father is a Mountain Master of Sun Mountain, among the Seventy-two Mountains.
Sun Mountain ranks among the top three of Seventy-two Mountains, with trendous power; even the Clan Leader has to show respect,” replied Wang Li.
“So over ti, he beca arrogant, and no one dares to provoke him.”
“Interesting,” Xu Zii said.
“Brother Xu doesn’t need to fear retaliation; my father is also a Mountain Master of the Seventy-two Mountains,” Wang Li added.
“Though not as strong as Sun Mountain, protecting you isn’t hard.”
While the two were chatting, a commotion suddenly arose nearby.
“It’s the Demon Sound Elder arriving, everyone quiet down.”
Upon hearing this, the originally noisy Triumph Hall quickly quieted down.
This Demon Sound Elder was well-versed in music and highly sensitive to sound.
Anyone who dared speak would likely be berated and possibly forbidden from entering the Demonic Path.
After all, the Demon Sound Elder held high seniority, and everyone dared not rebel against him.
Xu Zii looked up and saw a striking old man in a red robe striding over.
The most striking feature was his ears.
They were like screens, very large, and were like tree rings, with years rotating in circles.
“The Demonic Path is opening; you all know the rules, but I’ll repeat them,” the Demon Sound Elder walked over and said without wasting words.
“The Demonic Path will open the Seven-day World, and regardless of circumstances, you’ll be forcibly transported out after seven days.
As for which part of the Demonic Path you’ll be sent to depends entirely on luck.”
“Elder, we understand,” soone replied.
“Inheritance is obtained through skill and fortune, no mutual killing permitted,” advised the Demon Sound Elder.
