Following the tapestry and smartphone stand, a third round of merchandise has been confirmed: the "Alice's Random Box", a collection of tin badges set to go on sale in late May. There will be six different designs, randomly included in each box.
While they will be partially available at events like the Fukuoka Hobby Show, the main method of purchase will likely be online, just like the tapestry and smartphone stand.
Once the sales page is ready, we’ll share the information in an activity report.
While I spun the garapon in order and received presents, the main focus during the live performances was still very much on the music itself.
Each group seemed to get one song, and right now, Dragon Soul was rocking the stage with a cool, high-energy rock performance. It was also a good time to grab something to eat, and as I was just thinking that I'd like some food, Ein-san had already prepared a plate for me. As expected of her, always a step ahead.
The food, unsurprisingly, was excellent. With so many skilled cooks around, it was no surprise everything tasted amazing. Alice had mentioned that Kuro had aggressively pushed for baby castella, but so far, I hadn't encountered anything like that.
"……Think it's about the right time?"
"Unn? For what?"
"Well, everyone’s had a chance to watch the game tournament or the concert and get some food, so I was thinking, it’s time to bring out the birthday cake."
"Ahh, yeah. Most of the light eaters are probably done eating by now. I’m a light eater myself, and I’m already finished."
"……Did you even eat anything?"
"……Eating is such a hassle, you know? I’m glad I have a body that doesn’t require food. I can just eat when I feel like it."
Even though she’s made improvements in a lot of areas, Fate-san’s laziness is still very much intact. She usually finds things like eating too much trouble.
That said, she does nibble on snacks from time to time when the mood strikes her, and when we’re together, she tends to eat or drink more often, maybe because she wants to share the same taste experience with me.
Anyway, that aside…… birthday cake huh…… Now that she mentioned it, it hadn't shown up yet. Since it was a standing buffet-style party, they must’ve planned to serve the cake a little later, as more of a dessert centerpiece.
"Alright then, we’ll bring the cake out in 5 minutes. Game tournament participants, please pause and focus your attention over here."
"e to think of it, who ended up making Kai-chan’s birthday cake? Wasn’t there a bit of drama about this during the planning stage?"
"There were too many people who wanted to make it. There are the obvious ones like Shallow Vernal-sama and Makina, but there's also Ein-san and the others good at cooking who wanted in. If we let everyone participate, it would’ve turned into a disaster, so yeah, the decision process was a bit tense."
"Didn’t Kurorin insist on making it a baby castella cake or something?"
"That's just her illness snapping again, so her idea was firmly rejected."
Apparently, the cake situation got pretty heated. I could easily picture Shiro-san and Makina having a silent standoff over it.
As for Kuro, well…… Alice really did a great job keeping her in check. I mean, I do like baby castella, but an actual baby castella cake…… No thanks. I’m sure she pushed that idea somewhere else during the planning process……
"……By the way, it’s got nothing to do with the cake, but what happened to that baby castella cushion Kurorin insisted was "absolutely necessary" and worked so hard to make?"
"Ahh, you mean the one she aggressively pushed through. We placed a few of them around the venue’s rest areas, but the main reveal will e a bit later."
Wait, she actually made something weird!? A baby castella-shaped cushion? ……Well, I mean, they’re round, so I guess in terms of shape, they could work as mini-cushions.
"Sorry, we derailed in the conversation. And so, who ended up making the cake in the end?"
"That would be me. Letting anyone else handle it was just too risky. I’m the safest choice."
[……I still feel your decision on that was tyrannical. I haven’t e to terms with it.]
[……I wanted to make a birthday cake for my beloved child too……]
"Be quiet. You two already do whatever you want everywhere else. I’m not about to let you create some unholy entity in the name of a cake."
So the cake was made by Alice huh. Honestly, that was absolutely the right call, nothing could be more reassuring.
At least this way, I didn’t have to worry about it being something absurdly bizarre, made from unknown ingredients that doesn't exist in this world, or glowing ominously for no reason.
"Now then, it’s been 5 minutes, time for the cake to make its grand entrance."
