The first thing that drew Yi Chen’s attention was naturally the huge amount of EXP points he had with him at the mont.
One would expect a pleased expression to appear on his face while looking at those points, but instead, his expression had turned to one of regret.
"If not for that, I might even have enough EXP points to upgrade my ability to Lv3..." he sighed to himself.
It was only when he faced the three thousand or so Black Glacial Soldiers for the first ti that he received EXP points.
At first, seeing those numbers, he was pretty gleeful and expectant about the next wave. However, when he began dealing with the Glacial Soldiers using his Qi Blade, the gain in EXP had beco zero.
However, every cloud has a silver lining. Thanks to this experience, he was able to understand that the EXP points also depended on the opponent’s difficulty.
When the Glacial Soldiers were a little difficult to defeat, although the EXP points he was getting weren’t a lot, it was still enough to give him massive gains because of the sheer number of them that attacked him, but now...

Yi Chen chuckled to himself as he muttered those words.
’Strangely...now that I know that I’ll have no choice but to stay at this place for several years, this slow speed of cultivation isn’t as frustrating as before... I have plenty of ti on my hands.’
He thought with a grin and closed the panel. The next mont, he straightened his back and firmly closed his eyes.
’Even if in the end this tomb offers nothing substantial...I’ll make sure that by the ti I’m out of here I will have no regrets.’
With those thoughts in his mind, he started refining his next ridian.
The next morning, he woke up early and caught several fish from the surrounding sea. They had a silver sheen to them and looked very fresh.
Yi Chen nodded while glancing at his haul and, after placing them in his storage ring, returned to their campsite.
By now, Gao Zhen was already awake and was sitting cross-legged in front of the stone tablet.
"You’re back," she said with a smile while turning back. The conversation last night had helped her a lot in clearing her mind, and she couldn’t help but feel grateful while looking at him.
"Mhmm." Yi Chen nodded and said, "Caught enough to last us a few months."
As he said those words, his gaze went towards the black stone tablet in front of them and asked, "So, any progress so far?"
Gao Zhen chuckled mockingly at those words and said, "It’s only been a few hours since I started, you know?"
"Yes..." Yi Chen smiled while shaking his head and said, "Then I’ll go and cultivate in my tent. Call if you need sothing."
"Alright." Gao Zhen nodded and began to focus on understanding the Abyssal Blackglacial Arts written on the stone tablet.
Hearing her response, Yi Chen nodded while glancing at the stone tablet one last ti. A sigh escaped his lips before he turned towards his tent.
Now that Gao Zhen no longer needed his help while dealing with the dark Qi, he could fully invest his ti in himself.
A day later, they were once again attacked by the Glacial soldiers, but Yi Chen easily dealt with them despite their large numbers.
He used the wave as a ans to raise the proficiency of his newly acquired sword technique, and the results ca out to his liking.
The wheel of ti kept turning without pause as days passed, turning into months, as both Yi Chen and Gao Zhen began to notice visible progress toward their goals, which drove them to keep pushing themselves.
Four Months passed by...

Yi Chen, who was sitting cross-legged in the tent with firmly closed eyes, suddenly developed a deep frown.
CRACK!
An intense sound rang inside his head the very instant, and the mont this happened, an ethereal sensation completely stimulated his being. The door that had remained closed until now had finally opened.
The next second, with an exuberant expression on his face, Yi Chen opened his eyes. His eyes glimred with a distinct spark.
"I did it...I finally refined all my head ridians!" he exclaid with a grin while tightly clenching his fists.
All this while, even though he had more than enough spiritual energy because his head ridians hadn’t yet been refined, he couldn’t actively utilise it.
It only allowed him to improve his usage of the Crimson Fire Arts and enhance his ntal stamina. As for the other abilities which were shown to him by Gao Zhen...he was unable to perform them.
However, now, that was no longer the case.
Narrowing his gaze, Yi Chen focused all his attention on one of the pill bottles resting on the ground.
’It works!’
A delighted expression ford on Yi Chen’s face when he saw the pill bottle being lifted up in the air.
