"Sweet..." Yi Chen grinned, seeing the 30k jump in his experience points after slaying the bear.
His gaze then went toward its colossal body lying on the other side of the status panel.
"Let’s get to work then."
He muttered with a hint of anticipation on his face and started cutting down the beast’s abdon.
A while later, he was holding onto a fist-sized core that was green in colour and, just like an erald, emitted a strong green light.
In the hope of finding sothing new, he opened the status panel the next mont.

Seeing the remark that was almost similar to the ones he had read on the other grade 2 and grade 1 cores, a bitter smile ford on his face.
His eyes montarily hovered over the regenerate button, only for him to shake that thought away with a click of his tongue.
"Like hell I’m going to waste my experience points again..." he grumbled after a snort.
’Well, the fishes did help...but what if I wasn’t able to figure it out. I would’ve been done for then, wouldn’t I?’
He grumbled in annoyance while turning his head away from the screen.
The next mont, his eyes fell on the half-eaten pile of fish covered in the bear’s blood and saliva.
"Yeah...I’ve had enough fish for now."
He muttered with a disgusted expression.
Thankfully, he had ended up using all the fish he had in order to act as proper bait.
So, now, in order to solve the problem of food, he started skinning the bear, followed closely by dismbering it into several small pieces.
Half an hour later, all the fleshy at had been extracted by Yi Chen, and a few ters away, a large chunk of at was being cooked under the fire, which was going to be his lunch for today.
GRUMBLE~
"Yeah...yeah...Just on ti, aren’t you?" Yi Chen glanced at his stomach and snorted amusedly.
After finishing the sumptuous al, his Qi was fully restored, and he finally started his journey again.
"It’s the ninth day today, so I should be arriving by tomorrow or the day after...hopefully." Yi Chen tried to estimate while travelling through the dense forest, which had more or less remained the sa throughout.
Occasionally, he would encounter a lake or a river and would use that opportunity to freshen up and collect water.
However, those monts amounted to not more than three tis in the last nine days.
Therefore, Yi Chen had expected the view in front of him to remain the sa until he reached his destination.
But after crossing more than fifty kilotres, it changed.
The closely packed vegetation grew thinner and thinner, and along with it, the surrounding trees beca much taller, with branches stretching less far out than before.
As a result, more light seeped through the canopy, making the area look brighter and even more scenic in so sense.
Observing the changes in his surroundings, Yi Chen was only delighted.
Particularly because his field of vision had improved drastically with the reduction in vegetation, and along with that, his movent speed also increased severalfold.
"Hm?"
It was at that mont that he noticed a drove of mouse-like animals jumping from the top branches of faraway trees.
They looked like a flock of birds from afar, but on closer observation, they clearly weren’t.
Noticing that all of them were flying in his direction, Yi Chen imdiately checked their status panel.

He already had a premonition when he read the beast’s na, and it only got confird when he read the remark.
Knowing that these little bastards were up to no good, before they could even get within five ters of him, he sent a huge whirlwind of fire hurtling in their way.
Painful squeaks rang out in the air, and a few seconds later, charred bodies fell from the sky as Yi Chen saw his experience points jump by five thousand.
There were more than a hundred of them, so this many experience points were only reasonable.
"Well...they were the easiest to deal with among the beasts I’ve t until now." He thought while glancing at the marble-sized core inside one of the squirrel’s bodies.
Yi Chen placed that one in his storage ring before deciding to give up on collecting the rest as he continued on with his journey.
He felt that the hassle just wasn’t worth the effort.
Along the way, he ca across quite a few grade one and grade two beasts, but just like before, he had managed to deal with them all pretty quickly.
When the night began to descend, Yi Chen tilted up his head to glance at the starry sky.
"It sure has been a while...hasn’t it?" he muttered with a subtle smile while admiring the twinkling stars for a mont.
Although their delicate light was not enough to illuminate the forest, it was still enough to make one admire the night with a much calr heart.
A few minutes later, everything turned pitch black, which prompted Yi Chen to find a suitable place to set up a fire for an early dinner.
Eating the crispy demonic beast at, his Qi pool filled fairly quickly, which was soon followed by his stomach.
After relaxing for a few minutes, he doused the fire before setting off once again, wanting to reach the Black Rock Kingdom as fast as possible.
’Madam Gao had written that I would instantly be able to realise that I’ve arrived at the Black Rock Kingdom the mont I enter its borders...just what did she an by that?’
Yi Chen thought while rembering the words from the letter Gao Zhen had left for him.
