Now reading: Chapter 34: The Clouds’ Verdict from I Was Forced To Marry The Phoenix Empress, a Eastern novel by JohnTitor234432.

It was an hour before noon, and the bright blue sky had a few clouds here and there. However, this didn’t pose a problem for cloud reading.

Elder Gu, who was sitting cross-legged, was facing Yi Chen and Feng Yu at the mont with a serious expression.

"What I’ve checked until now is your compatibility with each other. This cloud reading will tell us about your shared fate as a married couple. It’s common to have a few problems in married life, so don’t get deterred by what the reading would reveal. Understand?"

Elder Gu asked while looking at the two of them.

"Yes, Elder Gu," both of them nodded simultaneously.

"Alright then," Elder Gu nodded in return and, turning towards Feng Yu, who was sitting to his left, he said, "Bring your left hand forward with your palm facing the sky."

Feng Yu did as was asked. Elder Gu then turned towards his right and told Yi Chen to do the sa, but with his right hand.

"Good, now just stay like this for a while." Elder Gu closed his eyes the next mont, and the air around him suddenly changed.

’What’s with that golden light?’ Yi Chen’s eyes subtly widened when he saw a golden aura starting to emit from Elder Gu’s body. Its intensity was the highest around his head. Seeing this light, he couldn’t help but feel a sense of calmness forming in his heart.

’Is this what divinity is?’ he thought to himself.

The very next mont, Elder Gu’s palms, which were facing the sky, shone with strong golden light, and he asked the two of them, "Place the back of your hands over my palms."

Yi Chen and Feng Yu montarily glanced towards each other before doing as was asked.

The mont they placed their hands on top of his, the golden light intensified greatly, and two pillars of golden light surged out of their palms and reached for the sky.

Ziiiip

A sound similar to that of electricity entered Yi Chen’s ears as he witnessed this dazzling event.

’What in a hell...’ he exclaid in surprise as he saw the intense pillar of golden rising high up in the sky with his palm as the source. It continued for a couple of seconds before disappearing.

When the light disappeared, a circular region devoid of clouds ford in the sky, and just a second later, white wisps of clouds began to take form in that region.

Elder Gu’s gaze was focused on the clouds, and he was noting down the changes with a calm disposition. However, a frown appeared on his face the very next mont.

The reason for his sudden change in appearance was a grey cloud that had suddenly ford in that area. As if to announce its arrival, a strong sound of thunder echoed strongly the next mont and the entire region was filled with thundering grey clouds.

’This...’ The crease on Elder Gu’s face intensified at seeing these extre changes in the sky.

He montarily glanced at the couple who were sitting in front of him, whose faces wore worried expressions.

Seeing this, Elder Gu shook all random thoughts away from his mind and focused fully on reading the clouds as his pupils shone with golden light.

The sound of thunder kept intensifying with ti, and just when a regretful sigh was about to escape Elder Gu’s mouth, all the grey clouds disappeared completely, and the sky beca clear with only a few wisps visible to the eyes.

"Ordeal...destiny...chance.... fate reversal..." Elder Gu muttered out the deciphered anings as the golden intensity in his pupils slowly dimd.

This event lasted for about 5 minutes, and by the ti it was over...all of Elder Gu’s robes were covered in sweat.

’I exerted more life essence than I had expected...’ Elder Gu wearily thought while breathing heavily.

He glanced towards Yi Chen and Feng Yu, who were looking towards him with an inquisitive and worried expression on their faces and soon maintained his state.

Exhaling a deep breath, he inford, "A crisis will approach soon and separate the two of you. If things go the way they are, then you won’t be able to get married..."

"This!"

Master Ru exclaid in shock from the side when he heard this. Feng Yu and Yi Chen’s appearances also weren’t looking any good.

However, before they could say anything, Elder Gu raised his hand and gestured for them to calm down.

"...However, there is still a chance to avert this crisis and turn it into an opportunity, provided the two of you get married tomorrow only. If you do that, then a chance will open up for the two of you to be together.

Although laden with great difficulties... if the two of you are patient enough, then a lifeti of happiness awaits you."

Elder Gu inford all that he was able to decipher using his divinity.

’Tomorrow...’ Yi Chen glanced blankly towards Feng Yu, who had a worried expression apparent on her face.

Turning back towards Elder Gu, he couldn’t help but ask, "Just what crisis are we going to face, Elder Gu?"

Seeing such a drastic astronomical phenonon, Yi Chen couldn’t help but be worried.

"One that even I cannot decipher with my skills," Elder Gu said and continued, "So listen to my words carefully. The only way the two of you can share a fate is if your marriage is completed by tomorrow."

Elder Gu paused and allowed his words to settle in their mind. The next mont, he said with a serious disposition and emphasised, "And rember, a marriage is only terd complete after consummation. Without it, this crisis cannot be averted."

’Consummation...’ the mont the word entered his mind, Yi Chen glanced towards Feng Yu, whose face had turned red under her veil from embarrassnt.

A variety of thoughts were flooding his mind, but before he could get any ti to explore them, Master Ru’s words rang out from the side.

"Rest assured, Elder Gu, I’ll imdiately make all the required arrangents so that all the necessary rituals for the marriage are completed by tomorrow," Master Ru said with seriousness.

"Yes, do that. Today’s reading was more exhausting than I thought, so I should be going now," Elder Gu stood up the next mont.

Seeing this, Yi Chen and Feng Yu did the sa, and the three of them saw him out as he left in his carriage.

The next mont, Master Ru turned towards them and said with seriousness, "Be ready, the two of you, today and tomorrow are going to be the most exhausting days of our lives."
