*Gulp*
Yi Chen gulped his saliva in nervousness as his steps reached closer and closer to Feng Yu’s quarters.
Initially, he wasn’t as worried because the alcohol was doing what it was supposed to, but not anymore.
The intoxication disappeared the mont Feng Yu’s quarter beca visible to his eyes.
Walking along the decorated path towards the main door, he could feel his heart’s palpitations.
’You’re just thinking too much, Yi Chen...once you’re in a room with her alone, the romantic feelings will naturally happen,’
He placated himself, and it sowhat worked, but only until he reached the main entrance of her quarters.
He reached his hand towards the door to knock, but paused all of a sudden.
’...but what if it doesn’t...What if I were unable to even get it up?!... Won’t I beco a piece of embarrassnt and disappointnt in her eyes then?’
Various negative thoughts flooded his mind the very next mont, and he entered into a spiral of anxiety.
It was after standing there motionless for several minutes that a firmness reappeared in his gaze. He had made a decision.
A second later, his trembling hand reached towards his pocket and took sothing out.
"Just what good having pride as a man would do if even my wife won’t respect ..." he muttered while glancing at the small bottle in his hand.
The next mont, he took one red pill out of the bottle and threw it in his mouth.
’You better do the job you’re supposed to do...’ he thought while swallowing it whole.
"The least they could do was to make it taste good..." Yi Chen muttered with a bitter expression and finally knocked on the door.
"Co in, Young Master," one of Feng Yu’s maid attendants soon opened the door and welcod him in.
She escorted him to Feng Yu’s bedroom and opened the door. The next mont, Feng Yu’s charming figure appeared in Yi Chen’s eyes.
With the gold coronet still on her head, she was sitting modestly on her bed with her gaze pointing towards her hands, which rested on her lap.
Looking at this picturesque scene, Yi Chen’s breath paused for a second as a doting feeling welled up inside him.
"Then we’ll be taking our leave," the two maid attendants lightly chuckled when they saw Yi Chen’s expression, and soon left the room and closed the door behind them.
The room was illuminated by dim candlelight, which exuded a feeling of calmness in one’s heart.
Making his way towards Feng Yu, Yi Chen finally muttered, "Let help you with that."
His hand reached for the golden coronet resting on her head and gently took it off as per the rituals.
It was soon followed by his removing her veil, and Feng Yu’s burnt face beca clear.
Since the pill had yet to take its effect, Yi Chen couldn’t help but hesitate a little bit still forced himself to maintain a calm expression.
Since Feng Yu was too embarrassed to et his eyes right now, it worked in his favour.
With a subtle smile on his face, he asked, "Shall we exchange a cup of wine then?"
Feng Yu nodded with her lips pursed. It was clear that she was feeling anxious about everything.
The next mont, Yi Chen poured the wine that had been specially prepared for them onto two red coloured porcelain cups.
Handing a cup towards her, he said with a short chuckle, "Although Madam Lin told us how to do it properly but I can’t help but feel nervous now."
Hearing his words cald Feng Yu down, and she took a breath with a smile. Her face was a lot less nervous than before.
"Right? I’m also worried that I’ll make a mistake while crossing hands."
"Let’s do it anyway, even if the wine spills a little, it’s not like Madam Lin can scold us anymore," Yi Chen added with a playful smirk and reached his hand forward.
Feng too did the sa with an amused smile on her face, and the two then crossed their arms together until the wine cups were near their lips and gulped down all the wine in one go.
’It’s much stronger than I thought...’ Yi Chen couldn’t help but think to himself.
What he didn’t know was that the wine had accelerated the pills’ absorption in his body by a large degree.
And by the ti he helped Feng Yu place her cup on the bedside table, his vision started becoming a little hazy.
But thinking that it was just the wine being strong, Yi Chen didn’t think much about it and started a conversation with Feng Yu to make the mood comfortable.
"Today was really very exhausting," he muttered.
To his words, she nodded with a red hue apparent on her face and said, "True, the day really felt very long today."
Yi Chen’s heart had started to grow anxious again, and wanting to prolong the conversation for longer, his mind went into overdrive to think of suitable topics.
However, none ca to his mind. At that mont, his hazy vision accidentally landed on Feng Yu’s face, and he couldn’t help but take a deep breath.
"You look even more gorgeous under these candle lights..." His mind started becoming hazier and hazier as he said that.
A sweet smile ford on Feng Yu’s face when she heard those words, and she tilted her head up to thank him when she felt Yi Chen’s lips tightly pressing onto hers as a feeling of ecstasy welled up in her heart.
Under the dim flas of the candle, the two bodies soon entwined and engaged in activities which should remain only between the two of them.
Cries of love and passion echoed in the chamber, not pausing for a single mont.
Their love continued deep into the night, even after the candle flas had long died down.
This long night of pleasure felt only like a brief period of delight to the couple as they finally fell asleep in each other’s embrace, completely content and terribly exhausted.
