"Yu’er...wait! Where are we even going?!" Yi Chen exclaid helplessly while being pulled by his arm.
A thought of applying force to stop her entered his mind, but he threw it away that very mont.
He was already weaker than her, and now that her cultivation stage had crossed this realm’s limit...how could he even resist?
Luckily, Feng Yu was kind enough to answer his query along the way.
"I found it, Chen’er! I found it!" She exclaid excitedly while rushing.
"F-Found what?!" Yi Chen asked, growing more and more confused by each second.
"A way to make you ascend!" She answered and, without waiting for his response, used a movent technique.
Whoosh~
Before Yi Chen could respond to her words, he found his surroundings changing rapidly, and the next mont, he was standing in front of a building near the courtyard where he trained every morning.
"Let’s enter then," Feng said with a bright smile and pushed open the door.
A bookish scent mixed with a flowery fragrance entered Yi Chen’s nostrils as he saw the shelves lined with various books on his two sides.
’So that’s how her training hall looked,’ he thought to himself.
While he knew that this building was where she trained, he had never gotten an opportunity to visit it.
His gaze fell on a low-height table in the middle, upon which a blue coloured book was lying.
Curious, he was about to ask Feng Yu about it when he saw her walk towards a particular direction.
"Yu’er?" he called out in confusion.
"Father had got this art when he had co to know about my Qi’s nature back then,"
Feng Yu said as she traced her hand over the glass cover under which a red colour book was resting.
She gently took off the cover and, grabbing the book in her hand, she muttered.
"[Crimson Fire Arts]...At that ti, he had used all the connections he could to get hold of this ...otherwise it would be impossible for this Qi absorption art to be in this residence..."
A confused expression ford on Yi Chen’s face as he listened to her words, but he still continued listening to her.
"From your expression, you must be thinking, why am I telling you this? Aren’t you?" Feng Yu asked with a chuckle and continued.
"This absorption art right here holds the key to your Ascension," Feng Yu said confidently.
"How though? I still haven’t reached the Ninth Level of [Elentary Transformation Stage], so the nature of my Qi is still unknown. It could co out to be anything at that ti,"
Yi Chen argued. This was sothing Feng Yu had told her a few days ago, and he had also discussed it with Zheng Ru.
"No," Feng Yu smiled and said with conviction, "It will definitely be of Fire nature."
"How can you be so sure?" He asked the next mont.
From what he knew, there was no way to guess the nature of one’s Qi before the Ninth Level.
"Because we slept together last night," Feng Yu answered instantly.
"...wait what?"
Thinking that he had heard wrongly, Yi Chen asked again.
It was only now that a flush of embarrassnt had started to invade Feng Yu’s face.
Earlier, she had been too focused on conveying her thoughts and had blurted them out without thinking.
"I- I an to say...when we consummated our marriage...my fire essence must have entered your body...so the nature of your Qi will definitely co out to be that of fire,"
Feng Yu answered, though unlike before, she could barely look at Yi Chen in his eyes.
Realising what he had heard was right, Yi Chen’s mind worked in overload to make sense of her words.
’...Did I unknowingly dual cultivate with her last night? But I feel no real changes in my body.’
That was the first thing that ca to his mind as a frown ford on his face. He called up his status panel to check the next mont.

Seeing no changes in there, he checked his cultivation panel only to see no changes in there as well. He was still at the First Level with six Qi points unlocked.
"How can you be so sure?... I don’t feel any changes in my body, though," Yi Chen asked.
Seeing that Yi Chen understood what she ant, she sighed internally and explained, "Yes, you won’t be able to feel it now...but part of my fire essence has definitely embedded itself in your spirit root.
So, you’ll only be able to discover the said changes when you reach the Ninth Level."
Since Yi Chen’s ridians were still clogged, Feng Yu couldn’t check them for herself, but she was sure about these changes.
’That ti the Vermilion Empress’s man also saw a rise in his talent...’ Feng Yu thought back on her mories.
"Is this spirit root situated in my Qi pool?" Yi Chen asked as he placed his hand over his lower abdon.
"Correct," Feng Yu nodded and continued," It’s the source of your Qi and also determines not only the nature of your Qi but also its quality."
When she finished her words, a confident expression ford on her face as she said her next set of words.
"What does that an for you? It ans that not only your Qi’s nature will be that of fire, but its quality will also be very high since it was ford from my essence!"
With the book in her hand, she walked towards the low-height table in the middle of the hall and sat on a mat beside it.
"Sit," she said while gesturing towards the other side of the table, "Luckily, there’s just enough ti for to make you comprehend all the important points."
’She’s the Phoenix Empress...if she says so, then that must be the case,’ Yi Chen told himself and soon sat facing her.
Instead of passively waiting for the system to help him, actively learning this absorption art seed like a better option to him.
So as Feng Yu began her explanation, he ensured to listen seriously and keep asking questions whenever in doubt like a diligent student.
