Seeing them, he imdiately thought of sothing and a smile ford on his face. The very next mont, he feigned an angry expression and roared.

"If you’re done peeking, why not co here and help?! Or do you want to co and drag you by myself?"

"No! We are coming! We are coming!" It was the rcenary leader who shouted out those words, and together with his other four colleagues, rushed towards Yi Chen.

"Young Master is truly powerful. Please forgive this old man for his earlier rudeness. If I had known that you were hiding such brilliance, I would have never dared to-"

"Enough with those buttery words, don’t waste my ti. You got dicines and bandages in your wagon, right?" Yi Chen asked the very next mont.

"Yes," the rcenary leader paused for a second before nodding imdiately.

"Good, then go and bring them here. You’ll be responsible for their treatnt," Yi Chen said while gesturing towards the three guards.

"Yes, Young Master!" The rcenary leader clasped his hands seriously and rushed with the other four to get the items.

Now that it was only the two of them here, Yi Chen glanced at Miss Zhou, who had stayed quiet all this ti.

She was still sitting beside Guard Bai’s unconscious figure with her gaze fixed on him.

Her chin rested on her curled-up knees as a series of low sniffles escaped her lungs from ti to ti.

’She’s just a thirteen-year-old girl, so that’s understandable...’ Yi Chen thought to himself, and after sitting down beside her, attempted to comfort her.

"Why are you still crying? Everything’s over now. That guard would be all fine after resting for a while as well," Yi Chen asked in a neutral tone.

"I-I just couldn’t help but feel scared thinking about it. If you had not co in at that ti...then all of us would have been dead by now," she answered with a trembling voice.

"Well, but the fact is that I arrived and everything was taken care of. There’s no use in worrying over it now, don’t you think?" Yi Chen asked with a smile.

"Mhmm," she subtly nodded and called, "Big Brother,"

"Yes?" Yi Chen responded with a smile still on his face.

"Thank you," Miss Zhou smiled softly as the tears on the outer edge of her eyes glistened under the setting sun.

"You’re welco," Yi Chen responded and continued in an amused manner, "To be honest, I’m quite surprised to see the snotty brat from morning acting so polite."

His words imdiately brought a frown to her face, and she couldn’t help but ask, "What do you an?"

"I an," Yi Chen softly chuckled, seeing that he had her attention and continued, "I was at the Green Pearl Inn this morning. Weren’t you creating quite a fuss there because you arrived a little late and needed to stand in that line?"

"A-Ah...t-that...so you were there..."

Yi Chen’s words took her by surprise, and she couldn’t help but feel her entire face heat up from embarrassnt.

After going through such life threatening situation and seeing her guards fight to protect her with their lives, she had realised how childish her earlier actions were and how wrongly she had treated Guard Bai and her other guards.

"I was wrong at that ti...I didn’t know better..."

She said in a very low voice. Her eyes stared towards the ground.

"It’s good that you’ve realised. Those guards were willing to give their lives to protect you, so you’d better treat them well from now on, you understand?"

"Yes, Big Brother," she nodded at his words and took them to heart.

Yi Chen was satisfied with her response. Just then, the rcenaries arrived with a bag full of bandages and dicines and began helping the wounded guards.

Guard Bai was first, as his condition was the most severe, and this was followed by them dressing the wounds of the other two guards.

The rcenary leader soon approached him and said, "Young Master, the sun will set soon, so it’s best we start moving imdiately and find a place to set up tonight’s camp.

Because of all the dead bodies here, many wild animals will soon co here, so this place is not appropriate for resting."

Yi Chen nodded when he heard those words and directed, "Alright, help the unconscious guard into the carriage and let them follow after our wagon."

Guard Bai was soon placed inside the carriage, and Miss Zhou too entered along with him. She didn’t want to leave his side for even one second.

After bandaging the bruises and stopping the bleeding, the other two guards were in good enough condition to handle the carriage once again.

As a result, the band of wagons soon started moving while being followed by the grandiose carriage.

As for the passengers, they all couldn’t help but shudder in fear when they saw the several dead bodies of the bandits along the way.

Yi Chen’s bloodied appearance finally started making sense to them as they couldn’t help but gulp in fear and respect.

After a while, they found an appropriate spot where just a little sunlight was remaining and imdiately began setting up the camp.

With everyone’s combined efforts, the tents were all pitched up, and the injured Guard Bai was placed in one of them to rest for the night.

Fire was soon started, and everyone gathered around it to spend ti with each other and talk while waiting for their als to be cooked. The topic for tonight’s discussion was naturally Yi Chen.

"I never knew that this young man would be such a strong cultivator!" one of the passengers said.

"I know, right? At that ti, when he entered the wagon in his bloodied appearance, I thought I was looking at a demon, and my heart was about to give out!" a passenger added.

"Exactly! You really scared us there, Brother Chen. My heart feels so at ease now that you’ve changed into a new set of robes..."

Becoming the centre of the discussion, Yi Chen couldn’t help but feel good listening to their praises and jokes.

The food was soon ready, and everyone began eating. However, Yi Chen noticed that Miss Zhou wasn’t there. He decided to ask her two guards, who got to know that she had stated that she wasn’t hungry.

Hearing this, Yi Chen grabbed a at skewer in his hand and went towards the tent in which Guard Bai was resting.

Just like he had guessed, she was currently sitting beside him, waiting for him to wake up.
