The Redflower and Lionheart ships circled the whirlpool until they began to near the battlefield where First-Mate Bonnflammé and Captain Chestnut did battle.
It was a scene that looked like it ca straight from a tale of legend.
Commander Chestnut had created another whirlpool positioned side by side with the other, with a bit of space in between. In that space was the Galleon belonging to Bonnflammé, whilst behind it was Onoes.
Due to this formation, Bonnflammé couldn’t escape from the whirlpools unless he defeated the enemy in front of him or waited for Onoes to retreat, giving him space to do the sa. As for Onoes, the Galleon in front of him was blocking him from loosing fire at the Destroyer. In order for him to join the battle, he would either have to board the Bonnflammé ship or circle around the whirlpool.
The Destroyer fired nurous rounds from its turrets, as well as cannons, towards the Bonnflammé Galleon, but the Galleon didn’t sit there idly. It loosed cannonball after cannonball of its own, trying to force the Destroyer to back up.
This stalemate changed with the arrival of Lionheart and Roseus. As the Destroyer noticed this new arrival, they swiftly ca to the conclusion that their allies had been defeated, making it now a 4v1.
Lionheart launched nurous rounds of cannon fire, swapping between the elents so as to find a weakness in the Destroyer’s force shield. They didn’t face much fire themselves, as the Destroyer was more focused on the larger ship, the Galleon.
This round of combat went on for what felt like ten minutes. The Redflowers mostly sat idle, as they felt their ship rumbling beneath them due to the constant impacts being made nearby.
The tal Destroyer’s forcefield soon fell, and dents started being created in the hull. Navy sailors were forced to use their own skills to try and defend against the incoming fire, but many of them failed due to a lack of defensive abilities.
If they continued with this thod, it was clear that they had a chance to win, so long as they didn’t let up their fire.
But then, the Redflowers heard a sound that they were awfully familiar with coming from the other side of the Destroyer.
It was the sound of the boarding horns. Bonnflammé wished to board the Destroyer! And by the constant sounds of the horns blaring, there was reasoning behind this thod.
Roseus looked around in confusion, noticing that Lionheart was already kicking himself into action. His ship had made adjustnts to charge the Destroyer with great speed. A great wind suddenly blew into his sails, providing him with increased speed that likely ca from one of his skills.
Then, Roseus noticed Blodwen with one of his eyes closed as he looked off into the horizon, far past where Bonnflammé and Onoes were. He was using his Mariner’s Third-Eye, which allowed him to spot ships beyond his eyesight.
The man suddenly cursed as he realised what was going on.
"Back up," he roared. "It’s a Warship!"
Roseus wasted no ti climbing the Crow’s Nest and bringing out his spyglass, staring off past where the two whirlpools were.
At first, he didn’t see anything. Only Bonnflammé and Onoes making their charge towards the Destroyer.
Then, there was a great object travelling beneath the water, creating ferocious waves coming from either side of it. Since it was completely subrged, Roseus had no idea what it was. For all he knew, it could be one of those submarines which he had heard the highest jurisdictions of the Navy possessed.
He wished it was, since what it actually was frightened him even more.
A golden mouth suddenly broke through the surface of the water, revealing a body smooth as tal and a face with no features other than a mouth that wished to greedily devour treasures. It let out a deafening shriek that might have been able to be heard throughout the entire Translucent Sea.
And Roseus heard words directly entering his mind.
[I am back, blaspher!]
Nammon, Treasure-Eater, Sea God of Avarice, had entered the battle.
Roseus could only stand there, frozen in shock and fear. How had Nammon survived the battle of Mother’s Sea? How had he arrived here, at the battle, and why?
He raised his spyglass again and could now finally see the Warship that had arrived on the battlefield, following behind Nammon.
The ship had a design that he recognised imdiately. It was one of the Warships present in the battle of Mother’s Sea. The Warship that was fighting alongside Aeros’.
Could it be... Is my brother on that ship?
Roseus felt rage building up inside him as he jumped to conclusions which he had no confirmation of. If his brother was on that ship, then once again, he was the reason why his plans would be ruined.
"Why can’t you just die?" Roseus’ voice trembled as he outstretched his arms on the Crow’s Nest, creating a T-shape with his body.
Dawn looked up at her captain from below deck and shouted, "Rose, what are you doing?!"
Roseus’ nose started bleeding, and his eyes bloodied once again. The ceremony symbol placed onto his back by Zaliah began to flare as it was pushed to its limits.
A storm brewed above once again, forming grey clouds.
"Follow Lionheart into battle with the Destroyer. I will deal with the newcors!"
...
On the HMS Redwind Warship...
Lieutenant Gragg and Lieutenant Bushwight stood on the deck at the helm with the wind blowing against their faces. Ahead of them, they followed Nammon, the evil sea god, into battle.
Gragg, who was officially in charge of the Warship, had beads of sweat running down his face.
He turned and looked at his fellow lieutenant.
"Are you sure your executive officer has this monster under control?" he asked dubiously.
Bushwight paused for a few monts before answering.
"No. I can’t be certain about anything when it cos to the sea gods. All we can do is hope."
...
Below deck on the HMS Redwind Warship...
Aeros sat with his wrists and ankles chained together, both of which were also chained to the deck. His red hair fell ssily over his face, as it had started to grow slightly long.
He listened to the sounds of battle raging around him, as well as the voice that constantly spoke in his head, expressing its anger towards the blaspher.
This was the voice of his new god.
