Its angry and painful roar echoed in the ears of Yun You and her two companions.

Judging by the tone, "it" was truly unwilling.

Clearly, it had already used the mist to interfere with Yun You, almost making her doubt her companions...

But in the end, the lie was seen through by the girl, making all its calculations co to naught.

A few days ago, "it" had already missed out on one prey—a sickly Aurora—and now, it had lost the rcenaries, the hacker, and the Apprentice Death God, three extrely valuable sacrifices.

To fail twice in a row, how could "it" resign itself...

But no matter how unwilling it was, it could only accept reality! After uttering a few harsh words, it was driven away like a stray dog by flas and alcohol.

However, all three present were well aware that this was not the end, only an overco crisis.

"It's not dead yet, right?"

Frost Moon looked at the slowly clearing mine and, after a long silence, finally broke it with her voice.

"Yeah."

Yun You nodded.

"There're still many puzzles unsolved... of course, it's not over."

The young girl counted on her fingers, one by one: "What is its true nature, a god? A monster? Or so unspeakable thing..."

"And what is its purpose, why does it tirelessly harm innocents, does it want to gain sothing? Or is it just for fun?"

"What does it gain from sacrifices? Why do the miners keep silent about it, is it really sothing unspeakable?"

"Also, that girl nad Aurora solved the puzzle, so logically, she should be alive. But until now, we've not found her trace."

"Where has she gone? Could there be other spaces here?"

"Without solving these mysteries, we can't see the truth nor complete the mission."

Saying this, Yun You took a phone out of her pocket and waved it in front of her two companions.

The lit-up screen displayed the sa scene as before.

No signal, location unavailable.

This ant that the distortion of reality in the Death Domain Space hadn't dissipated, and the three couldn't leave here.

"No matter, we've been prepared for a long battle anyway."

Jack patted Yun You's shoulder with a smile, calmly saying, "You're the boss, we're your employees. Since you've paid enough, it's my duty to stick by your side, through thick and thin. Even if it's through peril, there's no backing down."

"Why is it always about money?"

Yun You also laughed, joking, "Can't it be out of trust or friendship?"

"Mind you, I trusted you guys just now. Even though 'it' was whispering endlessly in my ear, I never doubted you."

"Always talking about the boss and employees, it's not nice to hear."

Hearing this, Jack chuckled without retort.

"A friendship price is of course negotiable. Anyway, since we'll definitely have many opportunities to collaborate in the future, as long as the Apprentice Death God doesn't mind this small rcenary and hacker, working for free isn't an issue."

"Right, Frost Moon?"

He tapped the little hacker on the head, who tilted her head to indicate "I don't mind."

Just like that, amid hearty laughter, the trio temporarily cleared away the unclear gloom of truth and regained their high spirits, feeling considerably relaxed.

But pleasurable tis seldom last long.

"Rumble..."

Just as they were about to rest, the entire mine suddenly shook violently, like there was an earthquake! Making it hard for them to keep their footing, their bones trembling.

Subsequently, a sound like muffled thunder erged from the tunnel below them, as if sothing was appearing in the darkness...

"Sothing's wrong!"

Yun You was startled, quickly tucking away the paper, leaping into the shadowed tunnel.

Jack and Frost Moon were montarily stunned, then exchanged a quick glance before hurriedly chasing after her.

This ti, the three didn't encounter the "trapped labyrinth" problem, wandering back and forth endlessly in the passage.

Yun You ran for about 2 minutes before reaching the end of the tunnel.

And Jack and Frost Moon quickly followed suit.

In the narrow passage, the dimly lit lamp emitting glow akin to a firefly's light revealed the surroundings for them.

Through the wax-yellow glow that was almost non-existent, the three gradually discerned what lay before them.

It was a solid tallic door, firmly blocking the tunnel's end, seamlessly connected to the surrounding rock, not even a crack for a bug to crawl through, it looked insurmountable at a glance.

On the door hung a yellowing slip of paper.

But Yun You didn't rush to look at it, instead approaching the door, carefully studying the cold, solid silver-gray giant door like a city wall.

The door's surface wasn't smooth. Its creator had deliberately carved three intricate designs and a small section of writing into the hard steel.

The writing was a pictograph Yun You didn't recognize, perhaps too ancient since even Yuanbao's reconnaissance chip couldn't decipher these squiggly letters.

The database had no record of it.

As for the three intricate designs, they depicted three sowhat eerie scenes.

The first design seed to illustrate a primitive tribe's hunting process.

Strong people, clad in animal-skin coats, wielding spears, were invincible in the forest.

Lions, tigers, elephants... These seemingly mighty beasts suffered great casualties under human hunts, either fleeing in panic or being skinned and gutted, becoming trophies.

Almost everyone carried valuable prey, except for one... a limping young boy at the end of the group, dragging sothing resembling a hunk of at back to the tribe.

The boy looked thrilled, though his face was covered with black bruises, not beast-inflicted injuries but marks from being beaten by peers.

Considering his tattered clothes and the disdainful looks from those around him, Yun You ventured a guess that this guy was often bullied by peers, never getting a share of the hunt, which was why he was so happy for finding a piece of "at."

The overall content of this carved design seed normal, though it exuded a strange feeling, at least on the surface, nothing seed wrong.

But starting from the second carving, the style suddenly turned bizarre...

Like a slow-paced ghost story, gradually unfolding the darkness and horror.
