"The spaceship was a trap!
"It was an elaborate scam orchestrated by the Oasis Mother Tree!"
Jasim said, his expression grim.
A short distance away, Kan Zhiyong listened without expression as Jasim recounted their entire experience inside the spaceship.
Gu Chengguang stood by, confirming that everything Jasim said was true.
The seven of them had barely left the Miracle Oasis before they ran into Kan Zhiyong, who had been waiting for them.
After a mont of contemplation, Kan Zhiyong asked, "So the seven of you found nothing of value in the spaceship?"
The seven, including Su Ze, all shook their heads. The undisguised frustration on Su Ze and Mr. Ya’s faces was particularly noticeable.
’Did they really find nothing?’
Jasim was, in fact, skeptical.
He knew that the five Saint-level hegemons who entered with him had truly found nothing, but what about Su Ze? Had they co away empty-handed as well?
However, for one, Jasim wasn’t sure if Su Ze’s group had actually found anything, and if so, what it was. For another, the Great Desert Kingdom and the Dongli Kingdom were still allies, after all.
More importantly, he himself was currently a target of suspicion.
Jasim understood that even if he claid to have found nothing, the Sovereign Country would not believe him.
Therefore, Jasim had no intention of selling out Su Ze to the Sovereign Country.
Kan Zhiyong believed at most thirty percent of their story. However, since they were all in agreent and there was no evidence to the contrary, he couldn’t press them for more.
Although he was a Venerable Powerhouse from the Sovereign Country, with strength and status far exceeding the hegemons of the Six Countries, that didn’t an he could dispose of them as he pleased—especially not with top leaders like Jasim and Gu Chengguang among them.
The Six Countries were a breeding ground for talent for the Sovereign Country. Many of their most outstanding individuals eventually left to pursue their careers in Lin Hua Country.
Even the upper echelons of Lin Hua Country were not composed entirely of native-born Lin Hua people. It included many geniuses from the Six Countries, so of whom still held affection for their holands.
These were all factors Kan Zhiyong had to consider.
So, Kan Zhiyong simply gave a slight nod and said no more. He had already reported the situation; the final decision on how to handle the matter would be left to his superiors.
In the entire Sovereign Country, however, the number of people with more authority than Kan Zhiyong could be counted on one hand.
But Kan Zhiyong also knew this was likely the end of the matter. Even if the hegemons from the Great Desert and Dongli had obtained so treasures, the Sovereign Country would not pursue it.
As for the truly valuable prize, the spaceship itself, it was now in the hands of the Oasis Mother Tree.
Considering the bigger picture, those few existences in the Sovereign Country who were even more powerful and influential than Kan Zhiyong would not provoke a conflict with the Mother Tree over this.
Just then, another group of people flew in from the distance.
There were five of them in total. They weren’t from the sa place but had t halfway and decided to travel together.
Among the five were two hegemons from Ancient An Country and two from Peninsula Country.
’The whole thing is over, and these two factions are just now showing up. With that kind of speed, they couldn’t even catch a al of hot shit.’
Then again, their countries were the farthest away. They probably knew they wouldn’t make it in ti, so they flew over at a leisurely pace, likely hoping to swoop in for a sip of the soup after the Sovereign Country had everything under control.
But who would have thought... not only did they not get a sip of soup, but soone else had run off with the entire pot.
The last person was the Speaker of Luofan Country, Budi!
Apparently, news that the two hegemons from Luofan Country had died inside the spaceship had already reached Budi’s ears, and the number one figure in Luofan had rushed over imdiately.
His face was incredibly dark, his gaze sweeping back and forth between Gu Chengguang and Jasim.
Luofan Country was on bad terms with both Dongli and the Great Desert. He had every reason to suspect that Amida and Ye Muni had died in an ambush by this group.
"How did the two hegemons of my Luofan Country die?" Budi asked in a cold voice.
Jasim glanced at Su Ze, because only Su Ze and Mr. Ya had witnessed how Amida and Ye Muni died.
Su Ze repeated what he had said before.
"That’s just your side of the story. It’s impossible to tell if it’s true," Budi said.
Jasim addressed the accusation head-on. "Budi, are you suggesting we killed Amida and Ye Muni?"
"I didn’t say that, but I’m certainly not ruling out the possibility."
Jasim laughed in exasperation and retorted, "The five of us working together might have been able to kill them, but could we have done it without leaving a single trace of battle? Look at us. Is anyone injured? Has anyone’s Spiritual Power been damaged?"
Jasim felt Budi was just stirring up trouble. The deaths of Amida and Ye Muni had nothing to do with them. He didn’t suspect Su Ze and Mr. Ya either, because no one would think two cultivators at the Butterfly Stage could pose a threat to two Saint-level hegemons.
Budi’s heart stirred. He suddenly recalled that Amida and Ye Muni had also co prepared this ti. Even if they couldn’t defeat the five of them combined, it was indeed impossible for their opponents to kill them without sustaining any injuries themselves.
Nevertheless, he turned to Kan Zhiyong and said respectfully, "Mr. Kan, I request to inspect their storage items. If my Luofan hegemons died at their hands, we might find evidence of the cri."
He was giving Kan Zhiyong a pretext to inspect their storage items. Kan Zhiyong already suspected they had found sothing in the spaceship, and Budi was serving him the perfect opportunity on a silver platter.
Su Ze’s heart sank. ’My storage item really can’t withstand an inspection.’ But after a mont’s thought, he relaxed. ’The five hegemons will never agree to it.’
After all, who didn’t have a few secrets they’d rather keep hidden?
