The air shuddered as Nero raised his hand.
A pulse of dark energy erupted from his body, sending a shockwave rippling across the battlefield.
Every guard within a twenty-ter radius was blasted backward, their armor shattering under the sheer force.
Apollo's eyes narrowed. Sothing was definitely off.
Nero smirked. "Now then, shall we begin?"
And with that, he vanished.
Apollo pretended to have barely had ti to react, feigning ignorance of Nero's path, then just like what he calculated, Nero reappeared behind him.
His fist already moving.
Apollo reacted fast, but to his surprise, Athena was able to perceive the attack. A buffing spell circulates around his body, causing the mass of electricity to surge up. At that mont, he felt energized. He spun, barely dodging as Nero's punch grazed his cheek.
Apollo was satisfied at how he reacted but didn't let his guard down, he braced himself as the consequences of Nero's punch ca to him imdiately.
BOOM!
The impact alone split the ground where Apollo had been standing.
Eros and Athena moved to intercept.
But Nero flicked his fingers, sending a shockwave hurling them backward. The guards wanted to co to their rescue, but the magical beast didn't give them such luxury.
Apollo exhaled his golden aura flaring. Despite his higher level than most of the guards, he was a little unsure if his human form could handle Nero. Even his demonic form had a hard ti-fighting Nero; now, without it, he still needs to be cautious even when his enemy doesn't have its greatest weapon, Excalibur.
"I really need to take this fight seriously," he admitted. He shouldn't let his arrogance get the better of him, and not because he has defeated Nero once ans he will always win whenever they win.
Nero's smirk widened. "Tell is your na truly Apollo?"
That made the boy confused not knowing what his enemy ant by asking his na. So, to answer his question, he just nodded his head. As soon as he did so, Nero's gaze went crazy, or more to say, he looked happy, happily crazy, to the point his pupils dilated.
Then their gazes locked—
And then—
They clashed.
As their attacks intercept Eros and Athena both move to assist their brother.
A dark contaminating energy burst along with the power of lightning.

Apollo's mind imdiately moved and imdiately he was able to calculate the range of the black matter. In less than a second he was able to telepathically transfer the information to his teammates.
Eros was the first to react, he was supposed to attack Nero while Athena would give him a boost. But seeing the info from Apollo, he retraced his steps and changed his stand. A burst of ki brought forth a wall produced by Eros' weapon armant, the miasm was imdiately contained. And since ki is slower to be corrupted than mana, the containnt armant Eros made was nicely done. At the sa ti, Athena flicked her wand and imdiately tried to remove Apollo from Nero's path.
However, she was a second late since Apollo's fist already t Nero's palm, sending ripples of force tearing through the battlefield. Then Eros moves his sword covered with his aura, Apollo couldn't believe it at first as he saw five different spells flying towards Nero.
"Instant incantation is aweso" he could only say as he used his lightning to pin Nero down. The five spells ca in first followed by Eros'
The sky above them cracked as their powers collided. The spells hit the target; however, sothing dark was able to block it.
Athena flicked his wand again, and from her spell, a lion ca forth roaring as it hurled itself into the fight; the pristine black mane of the lion swayed as it tried to distract the enemies. Eros followed, he changed his weapon and turned it into a bow, a frost-laced arrow then flew into the air striking at Nero's weak points.
Apollo, seeing the combination of attacks, imdiately raises his hand and summons powerful lightning from the stormy clouds. However, Nero quickly clad himself with the sa dark energy as before.
The flas that used to burn the ground were imdiately seized by this rain, but there was also the power of the other magical beast, but no matter what, they couldn't use their full power due to the effects of the conquering spell.
anwhile, in the front, the academy guards held the line, refusing to break. But they weren't just here to defend; their power for the offense was very distinct as well, carrying the weight that was able to push the enemies despite their current stalemate. As more enemies found their way into the formation, the guards would change their formation in defense or even offense, capitalizing on their versatile style of fighting.

Back to Apollo, who received another punch from Nero, he couldn't help but clasp his head as he felt a massive burden in it. The boy knew it was due to the corrupt mana surrounding Nero.
[Incoming!]
Apollo nodded and imdiately dodged it with a followed counter. Eros and Athena followed suit sending in more spells than previous.
The magical beasts, though powerful were weakened, and so soon they began to falter.
The battle had reached its climax.
But Apollo knew—
This was just the beginning. As he saw Nero's crazy smirk.
'Sothing is wrong I can tell, Nero's expression isn't really normal. Sowhere I could tell it had a hidden aning however I could not understand it
"Just what those eyes ant"
Apollo continued to wonder but kept his eyes on his enemy.
"Apollo," he hears a voice and knows exactly whom it belongs to.
"What is it" he replied while the person who just spoke proceeded to speak.
"I have a spell that can spread the effects of any buffing spells. Your lightning spell is a type of buffing spell right? I was thinking of letting everyone have that kind of power. Nero's involvent made worry about the outco of this battle. So can you lend your spell?"
A pair of golden eyes looks at Apollo, but more than the eyes, his main focus is the speaker's hair, a flowing silvery hair that almost resembles the beauty of the moon in the night sky.
At that mont Apollo saw a person within her features
"she really looks like her" he could only think of before nodding.
"Alright, let's do it," he said before nodding.
"Cover us!"
Athena telepathically said, and imdiately, the guards changed their formation, giving more room for them to adjust and react to any attacks.
Athena began casting her spell, Apollo by her side. anwhile, Eros tried to hold up Nero, but he just didn't have enough power to push him back.
[Creator he is coming!]
"Okay"
He said that but Athena's spell wasn't done yet; it won't be good to be interrupted. So to save himself so ti to corner Nero, Apollo simply uses one of his powers.
"Gravity a hundred tis"
A sudden increase of gravity made Nero's advance fail. Giving Nero no opportunity to attack.
"Jeremiah make sure to assist my brother with authorities"

Then Apollo uses another authority to accelerate the speed of Athena's casting.
"Hmmm?"
For a mont, Athena was confused since she knew her own capacity, yet sohow, she was casting faster than before.
"Is it due to adrenaline?" She thought, but her thoughts were soon attracted by the sudden pulse of heat.

She was shocked as she saw the effects of Apollo's spell.
"This is!"
All the guards were brimming with the power of lightning, and soon, a rain of lights washed through the academy. The heat increased, and the ground was further burned to the extent of creating a molted crater.
However, as soon as the mayhem ended, Apollo saw that Nero covered all his comrades with the sa black matter.

"Don't worry Jeremiah, after all, who says I wasn't serious"
Then he lightly taps the ground, and to everyone's surprise, a large-scale magic circle activated.

"Yup, the entire ti, I was drawing that magic circle on the ground. I want to defeat Nero but at the sa ti I don't want to reveal my entire power"
Soon the light from the magic circle envelopes the entire academy. As its powers devoured everything, Apollo's gaze remained on Nero.
Yet again, the two were only looking at each other despite the chaos around them. From that tension, Nero slowly smiled, one that seed familiar to Apollo, sothing that made him confused.
"It is nice to see you again... teacher," he said until his entire body was swallowed, leaving Apollo confused at his words.
