"...RUN!"
They left Karin behind first. Because of course they did. Karin froze completely seeing the massive beast charging toward her. She was scared beyond belief.
BOOOOM.
The giant bear flew sideways violently after sothing struck its skull hard enough to crack bone instantly. Trees shattered while the creature crashed across the forest floor.
Everyone who had run away saw this from far away and froze, including Karin. And slowly walking out from the shadows afterward ca Rei with his hands inside his pockets.
Like he hadn't just punched away a monster weighing several hundred kilograms casually. The remaining Kusagakure genins imdiately panicked. So many different constitutions had been reinforced into his body now, so of course he was physically strong. Physically he might even be as strong as Guy now, though he might not be as fast. Even though he was practicing shunshin regularly.
"WHO ARE YOU?!"
Rei didn't even answer. He simply moved once. One boy dropped unconscious instantly after a strike to the neck. The second tried throwing kunai— only for Rei to appear behind him imdiately afterward.
A sharp elbow. And that was it. Rei ended the whole farce within a few seconds. Karin just looked at the boy who had arrived with both horror and admiration. But then the bear which had been man-handled by Rei got up again.
"Oh! You are quite tough. The Forest of Death really has its perks."
That thing made the mistake of standing back up. The beast roared again before charging furiously toward Rei. Rei sighed slightly.
"...Annoying."
Lightning instantly exploded around his arm afterward.
CHIDORI.
BOOOOOOM.
The bear collapsed mid-charge while smoke rose upward from the massive hole blasted straight through its skull.
Silence consud the forest completely afterward. Karin slowly stared toward Rei with widened eyes while her legs visibly trembled. She also had a blush on her face. Rei noticed it but it was better to just leave it at that. She was a bit obsessive in the future, better not to give her so ideas for later.
"You okay?" Rei asked.
"I.. I'm fine.." Karin said, and the blush was still present.
"Why didn't you tell them that you had sensed ?" Rei asked. He had noticed that she lied when he was hidden and looking at them from high up.
"I.. Even if I tell them it is of no use. You are way too strong than any of us." Karin said. "So I had hoped if I lied, you would go away.." She was right and she did sense him. She could always see his chakra from far away and knew the amount of chakra this guy carried was enough to take down most ninjas if used perfectly.
And besides, she didn't like her teammates either. She was alone in this world so a small part of her didn't care if she lived or died. Though, of course, survival instincts would always kick in at the end.
"Smart choice.. I am Rei Amagi. And you are?" Rei asked.
"I.. I am Karin.." Karin replied.
"Hmm.. Karin.. You don't seem to like your teammates at all." Rei said as he saw the teammates lying around and also the bite marks on her arms.
"I.. " Karin didn't know what to say. She couldn't just say that she hated her teammates and neither could she ask Rei for help as he was the supposed enemy. She could only spare so tears in her eyes.
"So do you want to join them?" Rei gave a very sunny smile but this was enough for Karin to almost scream and say.
"No.. No.. No.. Please no.. You can take our scroll. Please don't kill ." Karin was beyond horrified. She didn't know what else she could offer.
"Hahaha.. Relax.. I am just kidding. I will take the scroll as that is the last missing scroll of my team. But once I do that, you and the others will be expelled and from the looks of it you won't be treated well once you get out right?" Rei said. The words of Rei ca as a huge relief to Karin and also a damning realization that she would be dood later.
"It's okay. I can take care of myself." Karin assured and was happy a bit that Rei was even concerned about her. In response, Rei flicked his hand and produced a full contract.
Karin was taken aback.
"Read the contract and sign it. Since you have already accepted defeat from , it's better I take you under my wing and keep you safe.." Rei said as he allowed her to read the contract.
"I presu you don't have anyone left from your village right?" Karin while reading could only deny having anyone in her life related to her by blood, by muttering a no in a very low voice. Karin was confused about this page that had randomly appeared and since he was asking her to read, she did.
But once she read the entire thing, she was flabbergasted. She couldn't believe what she was seeing.
"What.. What is this?" Karin asked.
"Sothing magical. You sign the contract and in return I will safeguard you and you wouldn't need to worry ever in your life. How does that sound?" Rei asked.
"But I will be under your command for the rest of my life." She had read the contract so she knew what would co next. Even though she was skeptical about the contract, she had seen how powerful he was and a guy like him wouldn't joke now.
"You have been under the command of others anyways. Why not just follow and I promise you that I will keep you safe and never force you to do anything." Rei said and this ti he ant it. Even Karin could sense that Rei was actually being truthful.
The Mind's Eye of Kagura still hadn't blood fully yet, but she could still sense a bit from close range. Thus she could also tell that the contract, though wildly absurd, was probably genuine and he really ant it when he said that he would safeguard her.
"I.. I will sign.." Karin said. She had read the clauses and also knew that for signing one needed to be defeated and thus she knew that Rei could also force her to put her signature on this weird/absurd seal type jutsu. And the fact that Rei had told her politely ant a lot.
Besides, she already had a small crush on him now, after he saved her. So what could go wrong?
Soon the signing was done and the mont it was done, Rei felt it. He almost lost control over his own chakra for a second. Thankfully, by now he had gotten used to it.
BOOOOM.
Imnse vitality exploded throughout his body violently. His chakra coils practically scread as enormous amounts of chakra surged through every pathway inside him. Rei's eyes widened slightly because this wasn't normal at all.
He already possessed his own constitution along with the chakra reserves from Haku, Zabuza, and half of Sasuke, Kakashi, Naruto, his parents and even Sakura. But this was a whole new level.
The mont the contract completed, Rei felt his chakra reserves almost double instantly. The amount beca so absurd that even he felt slightly uncomfortable for a mont. It was like trying to force a river through pipes.
The world around him changed.
Rei suddenly sensed everything around him. Every chakra signature. Every movent. Every pulse of energy inside the Forest of Death. Teams fighting kiloters away. Animals underground. Even the terrifying and sinister chakra of Orochimaru lurking inside the forest.
Mind's Eye of Kagura had awakened instantly.
"...Holy shit." Rei muttered unconsciously.
And that wasn't all. His body itself felt absurdly alive now. Fatigue vanished almost instantly. Minor bruises healed rapidly. Even his senses sharpened beyond belief. And that wasn't all, there was another type of power brewing inside him and he could tell that he was on the verge of controlling that power soon and once he did, he would really be unstoppable.
anwhile Karin just stared at Rei with widened eyes while kneeling weakly on the ground because unlike Rei, who felt the physical side of the contract... Karin felt the emotional side of it.
Rei looked at her as so kind of gem. Now Rei really was on par with so of the greats, though not polished as of yet, it wasn't far.
