"WHY DO you look sad, Yuhyun-ah?"
Oh?
Was Yun Yuhyun sad?
He was at his favorite fast-food chain restaurant with his Yun Yunchae (his older cousin) and her friends. His noona’s friends were the siblings Jin Jihyeok (sa age as Yun Yuhyun) and Jin Jihyeon (sa age as Yun Yunchae).
They stopped playing at the inflatable playground of the fast-food restaurant when they got hungry, so they went back to their table to eat their burgers and fries.
Their nannies and bodyguards were sitting at the table next to them.
"Leave him alone," Yun Yunchae said to Jin Jihyeok. "Yuhyun is sad because his parents are fighting."
"You have parents, Yuhyun-ah?"
Yun Yuhyun glared at Jin Jihyeok. "How would I be born in this world if I didn’t have parents?"
"I thought Yunchae Noona’s parents were your parents," Jin Jihyeok said defensively. "I thought you were adopted."
Yun Yunchae was too stunned to react.
"I’m sorry, my little brother is a little slow," Jin Jihyeon said apologetically. "So, your parents are fighting. Is that why you’re sad, Yuhyun-ah?"
"Yes, Jihyeon Noona," Yun Yuhyun said, sighing. "My papa left our house."
The Jin Siblings gasped, obviously shocked.
Then the two looked at Yun Yuhyun with pity in their eyes.
"I want my papa to co ho, but my daddy did sothing bad to my papa," Yun Yuhyun explained to his friends. "I can only wish for my papa to forgive my daddy, so we can be a happy family again."
"Wish? Then why don’t you make a wish to that tree that grants wishes?" Jin Jihyeok asked, his eyes sparkling. "Have you heard about the wish-granting tree in the park near our kindergarten school?"
"Hey, that place is off-limits," Jin Jihyeon warned them. "The park near your kindergarten school is dangerous. Many children have disappeared there, so I don’t think our nannies will allow you to go there."
Yun Yunchae nodded in agreent. "Yuhyun-ah, don’t even ntion it to Grandma Rosa, or else they’ll take us ho imdiately."
"Okay, I won’t," Yun Yuhyun answered, even though there was a protest in his chest. He wanted to go to the wish-granting tree, after all. "I won’t even bring it up."
But Yun Yuhyun said that with his fingers crossed under the table.

"JIHYEOK-AH, help ," Yun Yuhyun whispered after grabbing Jin Jihyeok. The two of them were back in the inflatable playground. To be precise, they were hiding inside the ’house,’ right above the slide. "I really want to go to that wish-granting tree."
"Okay, I get that, but..." Jin Jihyeok trailed off, and then he looked at the kid next to Yun Yuhyun. "Who’s that?"
"A new friend. I found him playing alone in the ball pit," Yun Yuhyun said. "His na is Kim Woosung. He’ll help us."
"I didn’t say I’ll help you," Kim Woosung complained lightly. "I just said I’ll switch jackets with you. I like your jacket, after all."
"You’ll help once we exchange jackets," Yun Yuhyun said while removing his jacket. "After we exchange jackets, go and play with my friend here."
"You want to play with that kid?" Jin Jihyeok asked, confused. "Why? Are you not going to play with us?"
"I’m going to sneak out of here while the two of you are playing," Yun Yuhyun said. "I’m going to the wish-granting tree."
"How are you going to get there, Yuhyun-ah?"
"I used my computer tablet earlier, then I used NAVI Map to look for the exact address of the park," Yun Yuhyun explained. It was a lucky thing that his daddy let him carry his computer tablet everywhere. "Now that I know where it is, I’m going there by riding a taxi."
"Do you have money?"
Yun Yuhyun pointed at his new friend. "Kim Woosung lent his cash."
"It’s my allowance," Kim Woosung said. "You better return it later, Yun Yuhyun. My older brother will get mad if he finds out I gave my money to a kid I just t."
"I’m just borrowing it— I’ll return it later."
"Okay, I trust you."
"Thank you," Yun Yuhyun said, and then he looked at Jin Jihyeok. "Jihyeok-ah, just pretend that I’m Kim Woosung. Play with him as if you were playing with ."
They could pull that off because Yun Yunchae and Jin Jihyeon were in the bathroom.
And girls take a long ti in the bathroom— always.
That also ant fewer eyes watching them.
Moreover...
"Kim Woosung has the sa build as , so our nannies and bodyguards won’t notice that I’m not him as long as he covers his face with the hoodie," Yun Yuhyun explained. "We’re the sa age, too."
Not that it mattered.
"What? You’re the sa age?" Jin Jihyeok asked, surprised. "I thought he was older than us because he’s tall. I can’t believe that there’s soone your age who’s as tall as you, Yuhyun-ah."
Right?
Yun Yuhyun was often mistaken for an elentary student because he was taller and bigger than his peers.
So, it was a miracle that he t a friend of the sa age with the sa build as him.
And there’s sothing special about Kim Woosung that caught my attention.
But Yun Yuhyun didn’t have the ti to figure out what it was.
"Jihyeok-ah, can I rely on you?"
"Sure, I’ll help you," Jin Jihyeok said while nodding. "But will you be okay, Yuhyun-ah?"
"Yes, I’ll be fine," Yun Yuhyun said confidently. "I’m a smart boy, you know?"
***
YUN YUHYUN had successfully snuck out of the fast-food restaurant while wearing Kim Woosung’s jacket.
He used the hoodie to cover his face.
Thankfully, the nannies and the bodyguards didn’t notice him since he was wearing a different jacket.
After getting out of the fast-food restaurant, he imdiately rode a taxi.
He then told the taxi driver the location he wanted to go to.
"Elentary students these days can ride taxis on their own, huh?"
Yun Yuhyun just gulped nervously.
He was tall and big for his age, so people who didn’t know him would often mistake him as an elentary student.
Daddy said he experienced the sa thing growing up.
Anyway, he was glad that the taxi driver didn’t talk to him again.
So, Yun Yuhyun just looked outside the window— his heart thumping hard and fast against his chest in excitent.
I’m going to wish for Papa’s heart to heal, so he can forgive Daddy already.
And once his Papa had forgiven his Daddy...
We can live together again.
