IT WAS a slow day for An Baekya.
Everyone is busy.
Yun Yuhyun had gone to school, and the kid would stay there the whole day because his class was practicing for their graduation recital.
Yun Dujun was busy talking to different people on the phone.
It seems like Appa and Yun Dujun-ssi are planning a surprise for Yun Yuhyun.
Bae Wonyoung, on the other hand, was reading the script for his upcoming audition.
Oh, I’m curious about that.
Hence, An Baekya visited Bae Wonyoung in his room.
"Baekya, co in."
An Baekya nodded politely before entering Bae Wonyoung’s room. "Are you preparing for your audition, Appa?"
"Yeah," Bae Wonyoung said, sitting on the floor. "I’m reading the script again and again. I want to get to know the character better."
An Baekya sat across from Bae Wonyoung and glanced at the script in his hands. "The script seems thick, Appa."
"They sent the script for the first four episodes," Bae Wonyoung said shyly. "Actually, I’m going to audition for the role of the main character."
"Oh, that’s nice, Appa. You got the male lead role for your TV debut."
Bae Wonyoung chuckled while shaking his head. "You talk as if I’ve already passed the audition, Baekya. But thank you." He paused for a mont before scratching his cheek. "To be honest, the script is too cheesy. I’m not sure if the viewers will like the drama. Plus, I heard this is going to be aired on a cable channel. So, even if I get the role, I’m not sure if it’s going to be a hit. But I’ll still do my best, of course."
"May I know the title of the drama, Appa?"
"It’s called ’Four Alphas and a Secret.’"
An Baekya’s jaw almost dropped to the floor.
Appa hit the jackpot!
"The title is cheesy, isn’t it?" Bae Wonyoung chuckled awkwardly. He probably thought An Baekya’s reaction was due to cringe. "But I think it’s okay since the characters are young adults? They don’t go to school because they’re idols, but they’re supposed to be around the age of freshn college students."
Bae Wonyoung didn’t have to explain.
After all, An Baekya knew about the plot of ’Four Alphas and a Secret.’
And, yes, the entire story was really cringe.
It’s about an Oga who has an Alpha twin brother who is supposed to debut as an idol. But before the group’s debut performance, his Alpha twin brother got into a car accident that broke his legs. His Alpha twin brother begged the Oga to take his place. Long story short, the Oga took his Alpha twin brother’s place and debuted as an idol while pretending to be an Alpha. He had to pretend to be an Alpha because the group’s concept is an idol group composed only of Alphas. Hence, the group is called ’ALPHAS’ GENERATION, ALGEN for short.’
So cringe, right?
"Your reaction is scaring , Baekya," Wonyoung said nervously. "Is this drama familiar to you?"
An Baekya wasn’t the only one who would be familiar with it.
’Four Alphas and a Secret’ is a cult classic back in my tiline. It attracted high viewership ratings and buzz throughout the country during its broadcast. Plus, it was the first cable drama that went past a 15% rating. The cast mbers beca household nas and shot to stardom overnight. Even after the show ended, the main cast ended up becoming the faces of various endorsents and advertisents.
Well, in the other tiline, it aired when An Baekya was still a child.
But he still rembered it because it was that popular.
Moreover, by the ti An Baekya beca an adult, the remake of ’Four Alphas and a Secret’ took over the country once again.
Japan, China, and Thailand also did their own remake of the drama around that ti.
Yeah, it was that huge that even its remake twenty years later was still a hit.
If Appa bags this role, he’ll shoot to stardom right away.
"Based on your reaction, it seems like you know this drama," Bae Wonyoung said, and then he shook his head. "Don’t give a spoiler, Baekya. I don’t want to know if this drama did well or not in your tiline."
That’s fair.
"Okay, Appa. I won’t tell you."
"I’m curious about one thing, though."
"What is it, Appa?"
"I know I haven’t booked the role yet," Bae Wonyoung started awkwardly. "But if I bagged this role, then it ans I’m stealing it from the original actor who played this role in your tiline, right?"
Ah, that was a valid concern.
The drama launched the career of Kim Seojun, the lead actor.
However, Kim Seojun only enjoyed his popularity for five years.
That scumbag’s atrocities were revealed later.
"Appa, the mont we returned to this tiline, everything has already changed," An Baekya said sternly. It was the sa thing he said to himself the mont he realized that he had turned back ti. "You’re not stealing anyone’s opportunity— all of you are going to audition for the sa role. The better actor wins— simple as that. So, you don’t have to feel guilty."
"Is that what you tell yourself as well, Baekya?"
"Yes, Appa. I’m not stealing anyone’s opportunity if I get it fairly. Plus, if it’s really ant for the other person, then I can’t do anything about it. But that doesn’t an I’ll stop trying."
Fortunately, Bae Wonyoung looked enlightened by An Baekya’s pep talk.
I don’t want Appa to miss this opportunity just because he’s too kind for his own good.
"To be honest, I’ve said the sa thing to myself. But it’s still a relief to hear that we’re on the sa page," Bae Wonyoung said, smiling. "Thank you, Baekya."
"It’s nothing, Appa," An Baekya said. "I want you to succeed in this tiline."
Because it will make feel less guilty for what I’ve done before getting here.

"SUNBAE-nim, do we have a karaoke at ho?" Wonyoung asked after coming out of his bedroom. He ca out because the Alpha knocked on his door. "I want to practice singing."
"For your role?"
"Yep. The role I’m trying to bag is the role of an idol."
Maybe Writer Shin Yuna offered the role to Wonyoung after hearing that he was a theatre actor.
After all, most theatre actors could sing and dance.
Yes, even Dujun Sunbae-nim.
"I know you can sing, but you can take vocal lessons to prepare for your role better," Yun Dujun said. "Why do you want to sing in a karaoke instead?"
"Oh, my character isn’t a strong vocalist. He’s the main dancer, and you know I can dance well, Sunbae-nim."
"Yeah, it was amazing how you could do headbanging while in a raccoon costu."
"Right? I would have gone viral had I posted that video."
Yun Dujun only smiled faintly. "I’ll buy you a karaoke machine. While waiting for it, should we go to a karaoke bar?"
"Sounds good to , Sunbae-nim," Wonyoung said, nodding. "Anyway, do you need sothing from ?"
"Yes. I wanted to tell you to get ready."
"For what?"
"My older brother is having dinner with us later."
Wonyoung gasped out loud. "Inyeop-ssi...?"
"We need my older brother for the surprise we’re planning for Yuhyun," Yun Dujun reminded Wonyoung. "Inyeop Hyung-nim is the legitimate son of Naville Corporation, so he has more power and influence than ."
Right.
"Your brother probably hates because of how rude I was during our first eting," Wonyoung said worriedly. "Sunbae-nim, your family mbers are really scary."
"Don’t be scared," Yun Dujun said, gently patting Wonyoung’s head. "I’m here, Hoobae-nim."
***
"SO, you really woke up from your long coma, huh?"
Aigoo.
Wonyoung thought Yun Inyeop would arrive later since Yun Dujun said his older brother would join them for dinner.
But the oldest son of Naville Corporation arrived when Yun Yuhyun wasn’t ho yet.
Yes, Inyeop-ssi arrived earlier than expected.
"It’s been a while, Inyeop-ssi," Wonyoung greeted his brother-in-law politely while bowing his head. He just really wanted to avoid making eye contact with Yun Inyeop. "Yes, thankfully, I woke up."
"Why are you hiding behind Yun Dujun?" Yun Inyeop complained. "You’re acting like I’m going to grab you by the neck."
Wonyoung lifted his head. "You won’t?"
Yun Inyeop looked at Wonyoung in disbelief, and then the older Yun turned to his younger brother. "Yun Dujun, your husband is still as rude as ever."
"Bae Wonyoung is only acting this way because you’re scaring him, Hyung-nim," Yun Dujun said defensively while standing in front of Wonyoung protectively. "Please stop glaring at my husband."
Aww.
"I’m not glaring at your husband— this is just my default setting," Yun Inyeop said sternly. "I glare at everyone, except my lovely wife and adorable daughter."
Oh, right.
I didn’t et Inyeop-ssi’s wife before because she was heavily pregnant at the ti.
So, Yun Inyeop’s wife gave birth to a daughter, huh?
"Why did you co early, Hyung-nim?" Yun Dujun asked, obviously changing the topic. "I thought you’d arrive by dinner."
"I had to co here before Yuhyun cos ho from school so he wouldn’t see your surprise for him," Yun Inyeop explained. "The costus that you ordered are here."
"Already?" Wonyoung asked, his face beaming. "That was fast, Inyeop-ssi."
Yun Inyeop raised an eyebrow at Wonyoung. "I want to talk to you in private, Wonyoung-ssi."
But why...?
***
AWKWARD.
Wonyoung felt awkward while having tea with Yun Inyeop alone in the reception room.
To be honest, Dujun Sunbae-nim didn’t want to leave with his older brother. But I acted tough and said I’d be fine.
And now he was afraid.
Yun Inyeop let out a frustrated sigh. "Why are you acting so scared of ? If anyone saw us right now, they’d think I was bullying you."
"I can’t help it, sir— our first and last eting was bad."
"And this is why I wanted to talk to you in private."
"Yes...?"
"I want you to know that thanks to your rude wake-up call five years ago, our family dynamic has changed significantly," Yun Inyeop said, avoiding Wonyoung’s gaze as if he were embarrassed. "Everything you said back then was right. So, it made realize how awful I was to Yun Dujun. Well, I wouldn’t say that we had already fixed our relationship. But I’m trying."
Oh.
Co to think of it, Inyeop-ssi has been calling Dujun Sunbae-nim by his na, unlike before when he would treat Dujun Sunbae-nim as if he didn’t exist.
"You should try harder, Inyeop-ssi."
"Yah!" Yun Inyeop glared at Wonyoung. "Why are you not addressing properly? You’re still married to Yun Dujun. That makes your brother-in-law."
"But I don’t want to get used to calling you ’Brother-in-law,’ sir. You know that Dujun Sunbae-nim can divorce at any given mont. I don’t like complicated relationships."
"Then just call ’hyung’ or sothing. I’m way older than you anyway."
"How about ’Ahjussi?’"
"Do you want to die?"
Tsk.
"Then... Inyeop Hyung-nim," Wonyoung said awkwardly. "I’ll call you ’Hyung-nim’ from now on."
"Alright," Yun Inyeop said while nodding, obviously satisfied. "I heard you and Yun Dujun have beco foster parents to a child the sa age as Yuhyun."
"Yes, Hyung-nim. An Baekya was taking his afternoon nap when you arrived, so I couldn’t introduce him to you. But we can do that at dinner later."
Yun Inyeop just nodded before asking: "Are you being fair?"
"What do you an by that, Hyung-nim?"
"As you probably know by now, Yun Dujun couldn’t properly beco a father to Yuhyun because of his job," Yun Inyeop said firmly. "I don’t want Yuhyun to feel jealous of his foster sibling."
Why would Yun Inyeop suddenly bring up An Baekya?
Don’t tell ...
"Hyung-nim, did Yuhyun say sothing about An Baekya?" Wonyoung asked worriedly. "Did he say he was jealous of him?"
"What do you think, Bae Wonyoung?" Yun Inyeop asked back, scoffing. "You suddenly adopted a child when both you and Yun Dujun barely had ti for Yuhyun. What do you think my poor nephew would feel?"
Oh.
Wonyoung suddenly felt a pang in his chest.
Am I neglecting Yun Yuhyun for An Baekya?
"I agreed to help you with your surprise because I’m glad that you and Yun Dujun are exerting this much effort for Yuhyun," Yun Inyeop continued in a scolding tone. "But you should try harder to make it up to my nephew. If you don’t, I’ll do everything in my power to send your foster child back to where he ca from."
Oh.
Wonyoung felt a chill down his spine when he realized why Yun Inyeop was there.
This is a warning.
