All eyes were focused on Mu Qiu and Cheng Zhirang.
Mu Qiu’s face felt a bit hot, but she still pretended to be unaffected. She looked up, her gaze eting Cheng Zhirang’s in mid-air for two seconds before quickly looking away.
Why did this feel like a secret high school romance?
Jiang Lu continued talking, intentionally or not, poking at so viewers’ sore spots.
"I’ve known Cheng Zhirang for a few years now, and I rarely see him online. But in the past couple of months, there’s been several big news stories about him."
"Increased exposure, it’s normal," Guan Yu said with a chuckle.
Shu Ran chid in: "Brother Cheng kept a low profile in past years, but his looks don’t allow for that. Once the exposure increases, all kinds of news will definitely surface."
"That’s true. But it’s all minor stuff," Jiang Lu used the communal chopsticks to pick up a piece of cold chicken and placed it on Cheng Zhirang’s plate, adding,
"At this age, it’s ti for love. When shooting on set, there’s no one to call. On rainy days when the car can’t get into the set, he can only walk in the rain, waiting for an assistant to bring him clothes to change. It looks quite bleak."
Cheng Zhirang stole a glance at him.
The scene depicted was quite real, but with Assistant Wen, Chen Song, and Assistant Liang around, he wouldn’t be that miserable.
The ti he got drenched in the rain was just because the scene required it.
However, he didn’t refute.
Instead, he looked up at Mu Qiu.
Mu Qiu listened intently, her brows slightly furrowed. When Jiang Lu finished speaking, she didn’t care if the cara was on her and asked, "Brother Jiang Lu, is it really that tough for actors on set?"
"That depends on the scenes," Jiang Lu put down his chopsticks, his lazy fox-like eyes turning serious,
"Whatever the role requires us to do, we do. If it’s a particularly challenging role, it can be quite difficult. Qiu Shuang should have so insight; I’ve watched two of your movies. The roles were quite challenging."
When Qiu Shuang was ntioned, he had already wiped his mouth but still held his chopsticks. He responded directly,
"It’s not that bad. There was this one movie, though. The backdrop was the Gobi Desert, so the conditions weren’t great. Plus, while honing the role, I lost fifteen pounds in a month and a half, and looked quite emaciated."
He said this with neither a lanting nor a pitiful tone, just recounting it casually, then directed the topic to Cheng Zhirang.
"I’m still just a beginner actor, can’t say it’s too tough," he said,
"When I joined the company, my agent found a role model — Brother Cheng. He said if one day I could dedicate myself to a role like Brother Cheng, even if I’m not famous, I could have so standing in the industry."
It might be hard for the person in question to respond to such words, so Jiang Lu looked around and added, "Brother Cheng is indeed impressive, one of the few people in our circle that I genuinely admire."
This sounded like the beginning of a story. Mu Qiu and others stopped eating, listening carefully.
"In the film we worked on, there were many action scenes, and due to the role’s requirent, he had to lose a lot of weight from his normal weight. In less than half a month, he’d lost fourteen pounds.
The filming location was in a remote village with poor conditions. We sotis fild mudslide scenes during the day and rain-drenched scenes at night.
When I returned after shooting another scene, I found he had been soaked too long in the rain, leading to a high fever. He was hospitalized at a local small hospital, and it took nearly a week to recover.
As soon as he recovered, he was filming a scene of falling down a mountain. If the crew hadn’t protected his face well, his entire body would’ve been covered in scratches."
Language can be very pale at tis, with such severe situations being described in just a few light words.
But language can also be powerful, with just a couple of words triggering countless real-life images, making one’s heart clench and hang in suspense.
Mu Qiu listened, feeling sour inside, biting her lip tightly.
Behind the glamour is all hard work. The admiration he receives now was earned bit by bit through his efforts.
While she felt tender-hearted, others could only click their tongues.
"That’s really tough," Guan Yu leaned over to ask Li Yang, who was gnawing on a bone, "Li Yang, do you still want to be in both fields?"
"...What does being in both fields an?"
"It ans do you want to act," Shu Ran felt exasperated. Even though both were speaking the sa language, why couldn’t they communicate smoothly, requiring an outside translator?
Li Yang made an "oh" sound, then shook his head.
"I think it’s a bit hard. Maybe I’ll just focus on singing."
" too, too," Wei Yi raised his hand in agreent, "Being a good actor is too hard. I don’t think I have what it takes, better go back to singing and dancing."
And one has to be very excellent at singing and dancing; otherwise, unable to be an actor, they still face the risk of being eliminated as a singing and dancing artist.
It’s too tragic.
anwhile, fans dining with them were using their spare hand to refresh the bullet screen constantly.
[People who love to eat are food lovers, and those who love to eat are the cream of the crop]
[Crap, that made cry]
[Being a good actor is really hard, and being one always exposed in the public eye is even harder]
[Lose weight for a role, people say he looks terrible; gain weight for a role, people say he doesn’t manage his figure]
[What’s more frustrating is, when finally encountering a role neither fat nor thin, there’re still people saying he’s unwilling to dedicate himself to roles. I’m really fed up]
[Brother Cheng really sacrificed a lot for acting]
[So did Jiang Lu, last year’s filming had him with a fracture]
[Successfully scared off Li Yang and Wei Yi, haha, their agents would be furious, wasn’t sending them to eventually act?]
[Brother Cheng, please just have a proper romantic relationship, at least there’ll be soone to care for you and call you every day when you’re filming in a remote area]
[Don’t expect Mu Qiu to take special care of him, just hope they care for each other without conflicts]
[Mu Qiu is probably tearing up?]
[Brother Cheng really likes Mu Qiu, he served her soup as soon as they started eating]
[The whole table is filled with a "secretly watch these two having chemistry but we can’t directly express it, you know" kind of vibe]
[Jiang Lu and Brother Cheng must be quite close privately]
[It’s nice, Brother Cheng, from now on, when you go filming, even in places we can’t see, soone will take care of you]
[Jiang Lu is hitting my sore spots, sobbing]
[Both are good actors, they deserve to be popular]
[That year in filming worried to death, lying in that lousy hospital for a week not fully recovered, and we couldn’t even see him, only Assistant Wen was crying every day with us on their private account]
[I honestly think it’s nothing if those two date, who says celebrities can’t date ordinary people?]
[Jiang Lu’s words are interesting, maybe not many will oppose their dating now]
[Speak clearly, who’s dating who, it’s easy for to misunderstand]
[It’s and my husband dating, sobbing]
