Wende's mind was filled with questions. What was the aning of those two images that had surfaced in his mory after seeing the Xianzhou?
Did it have sothing to do with his Master? A destroyed Xianzhou ship, and a "small boat"?
He shook his head, pushing those extraneous thoughts to the back of his mind.
"A-Ahead… ahead…" the injured Cloud Knight moaned weakly, as if trying to warn them about sothing.
"Relax, don't speak."
Wende crouched beside him, a lightning needle materializing in his hand. He inserted the needle near the wound, and the power of [The Abundance] surged forth, rapidly healing the injury.
"Hah… hah… Thank you, I feel much better."
With Wende's help, the healed Cloud Knight slowly sat up. Though he was still panting heavily, his condition seed to have improved significantly.
"What happened? Why are you fighting here?"
Welt got straight to the point. Ever since their arrival, the entire place had been shrouded in a bizarre atmosphere.
"This area has been corroded by the Fragntum. We were ordered to evacuate the civilians here, but we never expected…"
The Cloud Knight lowered his head, his tone dejected.
"We never expected that many of our brothers would suddenly fall to the Mara-Struck, without any warning at all…"
"Mara-Struck…"
Welt frowned upon hearing this term, while Wende, standing to the side, also grew pensive.

Welt pushed up his glasses and asked the squad leader.

The Cloud Knight squad leader frowned.

A Cloud Knight rushed over. He first bowed respectfully to Wende, then whispered sothing into the squad leader's ear.
"Sigh. Everyone, my apologies. We've discovered another group ahead who have fallen to the Mara. Please wait here for a mont. We will escort you to the Sky-Faring Commission after we've cleared them out."
"That won't be necessary. We'll go with you," Welt said, pushing up his glasses and gripping his cane.
"But…"
The Cloud Knight was about to say sothing more, but then his eyes fell on March's longbow and Stelle's outrageously large lance, and he swallowed his doubts.
As expected, a squad that can have such a suprely skilled doctor accompanying them is by no ans ordinary.
