"Hello there!!"

Her voice arrived before she did.

Zhuo Peipei’s signature Sweet Sister voice was fully recharged after the storm had passed.

"Did you stay up all night writing Sugar Text? You’ve got such dark circles."

"Sugar Text my ass! I’m planning to reform the Kissing Association!"

The mont Zhuo Peipei finished speaking, she heard Shen Yuan clapping.

"Oh, that’s great. Ridding the world of a nace. Are you planning to disband the Kissing Association?"

The smile on the Sweet Sister’s face froze.

"Disband my ass!"

Zhuo Peipei turned to Li Zhi and pointed at Shen Yuan. "How do you put up with him when he’s being such an ass all the ti?"

Li Zhi shook her head and replied calmly, "I don’t. I just hit him. I’ve been hitting him since we were kids."

"I can vouch for that!" Shen Yuan suddenly interjected, looking at Zhuo Peipei with a serious expression. He emphasized, "Really, she’s been hitting since we were kids."

"You’re making a dirty joke out of *that*?!" Ah Jie retorted.

Zhuo Peipei couldn’t help but chi in, "So that’s how you two built your mother-son bond, huh? Huh?"

As soon as she said it, Zhuo Peipei saw Shen Yuan’s face twist into an expression of utter disgust.

"Are you a pervert?" Shen Yuan stared at Zhuo Peipei in disbelief. "We’re high school students, the flowers of our motherland! How could we be into sothing so kinky?"

Ah Jie nodded repeatedly. "Exactly, exactly! The most we do is Nantong."

Zhuo Peipei took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down.

’But damn it, I still can’t hold it in.’

"SMACK!"

Shen Yuan’s arm was slapped again.

"OW!!"

Unlike Li Zhi’s hits, Zhuo Peipei’s slap wasn’t heavy, but it stung.

Hearing Shen Yuan’s cry of pain, Zhuo Peipei felt her mood improve considerably.

"Damn, that felt good. You idiot, Shen Yuan!"

Watching Shen Yuan writhing, Ah Jie imdiately started mocking him. "Weak! You’re squirming after just one slap."

Shen Yuan grabbed Ah Jie and demanded of Zhuo Peipei, "Why only hit ? Ah Jie deserves one too!"

"Oh, I forgot." After saying that, Zhuo Peipei grabbed Ah Jie and gave him a slap too.

"OW!!"

"Michael?"

Having just arrived in the classroom, Yang Ze heard the cry and imdiately struck a pose. He moonwalked over to the seats and extended a hand toward Ah Jie.

"As a true man! Care to dance with ?"

To this, Ah Jie’s assessnt was: idiot.

Friday’s morning self-study was English, as usual.

"Twenty minutes, and you can’t even morize seven words?" Shen Yuan glared at Ah Jie, his expression one of bitter disappointnt.

Ah Jie said humbly, "Bro, I was wrong. Give another chance! In one morning reading session, I’ll morize thirteen more! That’s twenty words total! I can definitely do it!"

"Shut up! You’re excellent in math and highly favored by your teachers. You don’t need a friend like ."

Shen Yuan continued in a standard Arican accent:

"But now you co to and you say, ’Man, I need your help.’ But you don’t ask with respect. You don’t offer friendship. You don’t even think to call father!"

Ah Jie blinked.

He only understood the words "shut up," "help," "respect," and "father."

He figured Shen Yuan was telling him to shut up, and that it was only right for him to help his respected father.

Ah Jie nodded. "I won’t let you down! I’m starting to copy the words now!"

Shen Yuan watched Ah Jie and shook his head.

Clearly, Ah Jie hadn’t understood Shen Yuan’s impromptu adaptation of the classic line from *The Godfather*.

...

Shen Yuan stared at the blackboard in front of him.

The biology teacher was explaining key concepts about cells.

In the beginning, biology was still mainly about morization; it hadn’t yet morphed into the stage where you needed to be fluent in the language of pea flowers.

The biology teacher was also focusing on so concepts that were easy to get wrong.

And then ca the painful part: the test papers.

Today’s biology howork was a test paper—an entire test paper.

However, this also sent a very clear ssage: there was no comprehensive science weekly test today.

Not long after Shen Yuan got the biology paper, he saw Yu Yue, the English class representative, walk into the classroom carrying a stack of English papers.

How should I put it?

Unlike the first-round review plan for other subjects, the English review still focused heavily on grammar and vocabulary.

Do more practice, morize more.

In short, he’d "happily" received a second test paper.

Ah Jie, sitting next to Shen Yuan, gave a bitter smile.

No matter how well he did in biology, he still had to do the biology paper. But Shen Yuan, that bastard, was different.

He basically never did his English howork.

Shen Yuan always just copied his English howork. It didn’t even matter if he just scribbled random answers.

Because Yang Yishui would never even glance at Shen Yuan’s paper.

But Ah Jie was different. If his English work was too good, Yang Yishui would probably single him out for praise.

For a student who was bad at English, this was a terrifying prospect.

"Yuan, just thinking that there are still over 290 days of this makes my heart feel weary."

Shen Yuan chuckled and patted Ah Jie’s shoulder. "This is nothing. Ah Jie, I have a feeling the real storms are still ahead of us."

Hearing this, a single, shimring teardrop fell from the corner of Ah Jie’s eye.

This was just too miserable.

"I finally get why all the seniors looked so miserable back then. So this is what it’s like! It’s pure suffering!"

In response to Ah Jie’s tragic cry, a chain reaction started in Class 15.

A crowd of boys began to wail.

When Eldest Female Cousin walked into the classroom, she saw a group of people howling in misery.

"Hey, hey, hey, what’s going on? Why is everyone whimpering?"

Shen Yuan quickly raised his hand and said, "Sis, Ah Jie is dead!"

Eldest Female Cousin’s mouth twitched. "How many tis have I told you? Address by my title during work hours."

"Okay, sister."

Just then, Ah Jie lifted his head and cried out tragically, "Sister Shui, don’t you care at all whether I live or die?"

Yang Yishui looked at Ah Jie and said coldly, "Your grades are already half-dead."

The class burst into laughter.

"Alright, stop laughing. You all have the test papers, right? Today in class, we’re going over tenses. We’ll use the paper as a reference. Zhou Shaojie, get ready. I’m going to ask you at least three questions."

Now Ah Jie really wanted to die.

After English class ended, Ah Jie slumped over his desk. Looking at the two consecutive math classes coming up, he felt much more relaxed.

"There should be a weekly test later, right? Do math for one and a half periods, sleep for half a period. Aweso!"

Unfortunately for him, Ah Jie’s wishful thinking was wrong.

Old Zhou didn’t bring any test papers to the classroom at all.

In fact, his very first words upon entering the room made it clear that these two periods wouldn’t be for a weekly test.

"The fourth period will be changed to Chinese. The Chinese weekly test will be during the third and fourth periods this afternoon."

Normally, on a day like Friday, the morning would be used for a weekly test in one subject.

But today was different. The weekly test was moved directly to the afternoon self-study period.

The reason for this change wasn’t hard to guess.

With the start of the first round of review, the teachers were putting all their focus on reviewing material, so the weekly tests could be postponed a bit.

They could be moved to the afternoon self-study period, or even the evening self-study session.

In short, from now on, it would be rare to have a true self-study period. They would most likely be taken over by subject teachers for either doing or explaining test papers.

The ti available for howork was shrinking again.

It was still manageable for day students like Shen Yuan, but for boarding students, their schedules would beco even tighter.
