The evening study session passed quickly, filled with practice tests, a grip strengthener, and Kegel exercises.
Shen Yuan was in good form today. RUSTLE RUSTLE RUSTLE went the papers as he solved the problems on the test, and just as quickly, he racked up his task ti.
The only downside was that he hadn’t managed to rack up enough task ti.
As the final bell rang, Class 15’s room erupted as if it had been set on fire, a deafening cheer exploding forth.
Imdiately after, a cacophony of noise arose.
It was the sound of desks being moved. They scraped and bumped against the floor, letting out loud CREAKS.
These sounds intertwined, forming a unique symphony that echoed throughout the classroom.
Along with it ca the class’s regular program.
"I will lead the charge!!" A boy in the back suddenly stood up. Like a heroic warrior, he violently yanked his desk out, creating a loud BANG.
"Let’s get fired up! Let them witness our Will of Fire!" another boy shouted, his voice full of passion and fighting spirit.
"For the village!"
"For Scáthach! Offer up your hearts!!"
"Before us, there are no foes!"
For a mont, all sorts of cringey, dramatic slogans rose and fell, echoing throughout the classroom. These slogans were like a signal, prompting the other boys to join the frenzy.
Ever since Ah Jie had his first freak-out during the first seat change of their senior year, all the boys in Class 15 would pretty much go nuts whenever it was ti to move desks.
They would roar cringey lines while pushing their heavy desks.
You know, you really can’t deny it.
It’s got a certain... vibe.
Ah Jie stood on his chair, arms crossed, and nodded with a resolute expression.
Ah Jie approved.
Ah Jie looked at Shen Yuan and suddenly threw up an arm.
"Yuan, look! This is the kingdom I have conquered for you!"
"Get the hell away from , you damn Nantong!"
Shen Yuan rcilessly rejected Ah Jie. "No matter what you say today, you can’t stop from leaving."
Hearing this, Ah Jie imdiately threw himself onto Shen Yuan’s desk, letting out a long, mournful howl.
"No! You can’t go!! What will I do after you leave?! Without your Chakra, how can I go on living!"
Shen Yuan quickly pried Ah Jie off the desk and, seeing Ah Jie’s dazed expression, rebuked him:
"You’re a remnant from a bygone era! There’s no ship in the New Era that can carry you!"
Ah Jie froze, then slowly closed his eyes.
He turned his head and gave a gentle wave.
"Go, Yuan. I know I can’t keep you. But!"
Ah Jie turned back to look at Shen Yuan, his eyes filled with sincerity. "Yuan, you have to be happy over there!"
Shen Yuan glanced back at Ah Jie, then resolutely pushed his desk over.
"Be happy, Yuan!!"
The mont Ah Jie’s words fell, Zhuo Peipei smacked him. "Move your desk, you damn Nantong!"
Shen Yuan slid his desk up next to Li Zhi’s.
"Command Center, I have docked. Requesting permission to egress."
Li Zhi nodded. "Permission to egress granted."
Shen Yuan plopped into his seat and announced cheerfully, "I have egressed. Feeling good."
Shen Yuan was happy, but Ji Ningning, who was nearby, was not.
As for the reason, it went without saying.
Being out-competed by Li Zhi was a case of ’soone smarter than you is also working harder than you.’
But being out-competed by Shen Yuan was more like having a dog chasing you from behind.
It wasn’t that Ji Ningning was unaware of Shen Yuan’s progress.
She just always had this feeling that she was about to be overtaken.
’No, no, I can get up at 4:30 tomorrow to study.’
Just then, Ji Ningning saw Li Zhi stand up out of the corner of her eye.
"Ti to go back."
"Okay, okay."
Shen Yuan quickly stood up.
When Shen Yuan reached the teacher’s podium, he told Li Zhi to wait, then stepped onto the platform under Li Zhi’s confused gaze.
Li Zhi’s mouth twitched.
Shen Yuan then took out his Exclamation Mark Lamp again.
"Children, there are no tasks today! Go and get a good night’s sleep!"
Hearing Shen Yuan’s words, everyone in Class 15 cheered.
"Let’s go!"
Shen Yuan bounced in front of Li Zhi, only to be t with an eye roll.
Young Master Li was still speechless at Shen Yuan’s childish behavior.
Perhaps it was because they had a big lunch.
On the way back, neither of them thought about getting a late-night snack and went straight ho.
anwhile, in a residential complex sowhere in Jiyang, Zhuo Peipei, who had just gotten ho, happened to open her laptop.
Zhuo Peipei had two QQ accounts.
One was her own, and the other was the school’s "confession wall" QQ account, which she had inherited as the president of the Kissing Association.
Generally, Zhuo Peipei used her personal account on her phone.
She only logged into the school confession wall account after getting ho.
After opening QQ, her computer imdiately chid with a series of notification alerts.
Zhuo Peipei glanced over and saw a long list of submissions.
Sunday was the day the Kissing Association—or rather, the school confession wall—updated its Sugar Texts.
It was a big day.
Countless people were waiting for this day to arrive, waiting to be nourished by the Sugar Texts.
Zhuo Peipei looked at the constantly refreshing ssages in the Kissing Association’s chat window and finally made up her mind.
’The Kissing Association... it’s ti for a change!’
No one knew what specific actions Zhuo Peipei took, but that day would later be known by the Kissing Association as Dark Sunday.
But at the sa ti, this was also the day the Jiyang Kissing Association was completely transford.
But that is a story for another ti.
"Why hasn’t it been updated?!"
Having finished his practice test and taken a shower, Shen Yuan was now lying in bed, ready to read the latest Chapter of *Defend and Steal* before going to sleep.
But after refreshing for what felt like forever, he was stunned to see that *Defend and Steal* hadn’t been updated.
Shen Yuan was dumbfounded.
’Seriously, what’s going on?’
He glanced at the ti. It was almost midnight!
’This shouldn’t be happening!’
’The school confession wall would never post Sugar Texts right at the deadline.’
Besides, all the other Sugar Texts had already been updated. Only *Defend and Steal* was missing!
Shen Yuan’s brow furrowed.
He quickly found Zhuo Peipei’s QQ and spamd her with a relentless barrage of ssages.
Shen Yuan: "Did you forget to update?"
Shen Yuan: "How can you be so irresponsible?"
Shen Yuan: "You forgot to post an update?"
Shen Yuan: "Done with the ships?"
Shen Yuan: "Are you just giving up on life?"
Zhuo Peipei had already received quite a few ssages asking the sa thing.
Looking at Shen Yuan’s stream of ssages, Zhuo Peipei was montarily at a loss for words.
And so, she simply didn’t reply.
’I’ll just pretend I’m asleep. Why the hell would I reply to that?’
Faced with so many ssages, Zhuo Peipei just ignored them all.
She put her phone aside and muted her notifications.
And went to sleep.
Zhuo Peipei went to sleep, but Shen Yuan was left in misery.
This feeling of not being able to read the update completely ruined Shen Yuan’s plan to sleep.
The next morning, as soon as Li Zhi opened his front door, he was greeted by the sight of Shen Yuan’s dark, bruised-looking eye circles.
"Whoa, what the hell? What happened to you? What were you doing last night?"
Shen Yuan looked at Li Zhi and said weakly, "*Defend and Steal* wasn’t updated."
Li Zhi nodded. "And?"
"I couldn’t sleep."
Li Zhi’s mouth twitched.
"You fucking idiot. Get your ass back to the classroom and sleep."
"I can’t."
The mont the words left his mouth, a sharp pain shot through his side.
"Not gonna listen, are you!"
"OW! I’m sorry, I’m sorry! Sleep, sleep, sleep! I’ll go to sleep as soon as I get to the classroom!"
