Three in a row.

Although the fish are getting smaller, it’s still quite exciting to watch.

Baiting the hook again, he cast the fishing rod back into the water.

Old Sun got up sowhat frustrated, planning to check if his bait had been secretly eaten by small fish, otherwise, why was it that at his nearby fishing spot, Lin had three in a row, while his own float didn’t move at all?

After he left, the sun had already risen high. Shen Baobao went to the car to get two baseball caps, one for herself and one for Lin Xu, which they put on their heads.

She looked at the big carp and big crucian carp in the fish bucket and curiously asked:

"Xu, are you aiming to catch carp or crucian carp today?"

Lin Xu adjusted the fit of his baseball cap:

"I don’t mind, either is fine. If it’s carp, we can make it into fish jerky at ho. But crucian carp is more fun; I can ask my senior brother to teach how to make fish jerky."

"Fish jerky? What’s that?"

"It’s a dish where the fish scales and bones of crucian carp are cooked until tender. It’s a kind of snack with drinks, and similar dishes exist in the Yellow River region."

"Sounds interesting, but don’t fish scales taste fishy when eaten directly?"

"Not at all, in fact, they’re very crispy."

The two of them chatted on and off, while Dundun, wearing a little vest with a harness, road around, occasionally rolling in the dry grass. Clearly, it hadn’t experienced such joy of frolicking in the wild before.

"Dundun, you shouldn’t run too far, or else there won’t be a big house to stay in, nor little mice or small carp to sleep with you at night."

The little guy had wanted to explore the nearby grass bushes for so adventure.

But upon hearing this, it held back.

Just as they watched it frolic, the float in the water moved a bit, and for the fourth ti, it sank down.

Lin Xu quickly pulled the fishing rod out, as it’s crucial to tighten the fishing line as soon as a fish bites; otherwise, it might slip off. A tight line ensures the fish hook stays lodged in the fish’s mouth securely.

This fish was quite large, and the fishing line made a swooshing sound as it was pulled out.

"Another one? Let help you net it."

Old Sun walked over from his fishing spot to assist, and soon a grass carp was pulled out from the water.

After removing the fish hook, he was about to guess the weight when Lin Xu said:

"Three pounds, one ounce and six."

Realizing how precise the figure was, Lin Xu quickly added:

"The more you bake, the better you get at gauging weights."

Old Sun laughed and said:

"Then you don’t need to carry a scale when you go grocery shopping."

Saying this, he returned to his fishing spot, first checking his fish hook to see the bait’s condition, then throwing so corn into his fishing area for good asure.

Lin managed to catch four fish in less than half an hour, why hadn’t he caught any?

Old Sun couldn’t understand and tried everything he could: more bait, changing bait, and adjusting the float.

Watching him scratching his head, Lin Xu whispered, stroking Dundun’s head:

"Son, go give Grandpa Sun so good vibes."

They ca out to fish for so rewards today, and they couldn’t let the anglers get too discouraged; if Old Sun got so disheartened that he quits fishing, what then?

Hearing this, Dundun stepped lively in Old Sun’s direction.

"Oh, Dundun’s here, want so fried little fish, Grandpa’s got so?"

Shen Baobao noticed a nice patch of reeds nearby and went over with a cara to photograph the reed flowers for cutaway footage, imdiately responding to Old Sun’s words:

"Grandpa Sun, no need to feed him, he just ate a short while ago."

Dundun lingered next to Old Sun for a while, dipping its paw into the water in the ditch and quickly retracting it upon feeling the chill.

As they played, the float in the water gently moved, then sank.

"Hey! Got a fish!!!"

Old Sun quickly grabbed the fishing rod with both hands, pushing it to the ground with a mix of tension and excitent on his face.

For an angler, every catch is a battle of luck and skill.

Sotis, a single misstep can cause a big fish to slip away.

Seeing this, Lin Xu imdiately rushed to help.

But upon getting there, he realized the fish basket was still in the bag and hadn’t been put in the water. Though the net was out, it wasn’t assembled yet, sitting quite tidily on the dry grass next to him.

As he began assembling the net, he said:

"Hang tight, Grandpa Sun, let get the net ready."

Once he had assembled the net, Old Sun also pulled the fish out of the water, revealing a golden carp weighing about two and a half pounds.

"Not bad, not bad, as soon as I ca today I felt like I could catch a fish, the weather and all were just right for catching fish, no fog, and it turns out it really was like that..."

Listening to this analysis, Lin Xu couldn’t help but chuckle to himself.

If it weren’t for Dundun giving you a boost, the odds were high you’d end up catching nothing today.

He deftly netted the fish out and casually weighed it:

"Two pounds, six ounces, not bad, Grandpa Sun, experienced anglers like you sure know the ropes."

"Oh no, it’s because your tip gave the right mont, when I think about it, I should thank you for bringing so fish luck."

At this point, Old Sun was no longer upset, with an excited expression on his face.

After removing the fish hook, he calmly took out the fish basket and tossed it into the water, saying smugly:

"I thought about not even bothering to dip the fish basket in the water, wouldn’t it be nice to head back dry and clean, but turns out I still have to soak it, what a bother."

A few nearby anglers looked over with displeased expressions.

Old man, that wasn’t the attitude you had just a mont ago.

Seeing everyone’s expressions, Lin Xu couldn’t resist the urge to suggest that Grandpa Sun, perhaps you should wear a helt while fishing, as fishing without one can be quite dangerous.
