After receiving the gift, Jiang Huaiyue couldn’t stop admiring it.

“What an amazing weapon!” she exclaid, then leaned forward and gave Shen Wuxiao a firm kiss on the lips. “I love it! Thank you, dear!”

“If it had a vibration mode too, I’d like it even more,” Shen Wuxiao joked with a mischievous grin.

Jiang Huaiyue rolled her eyes and turned her head. “We’re in public. Wait till we get ho, and I’ll show you just how ‘powerful’ I am.”

Shen Wuxiao chuckled. The sun was out, her mood had lifted, and he knew she’d be the one begging for rcy later.

He handed her the sword manual too. “Here’s a sword technique to go with it. It’s seriously cool.”

Jiang Huaiyue took one look and lit up with excitent. Joy sparkled on her beautiful face.

“‘One Sword Freezes Fourteen Provinces’… Sounds elite!”

“It is!” she nodded excitedly. “Way cooler than your ‘Seventeenth Style of the Deadly Judge’s Pen!’”

She then hooked the two soft swords around her waist like a belt.

Shen Wuxiao was dumbfounded. “You’re teasing now, aren’t you? I still have my secret moves!”

“Today, I’m going to show you my exclusive techniques—Sidong Fist: Thoughts Flow Like Springs. Niandong Sword: mories Never Fade. Haodong Palm: Eternal Power!”

“Dong’er, Dong’er, Dong’er…”

Jiang Huaiyue looked at him in disbelief. Shen Wuxiao was sitting in the driver’s seat, flailing his arms around as if performing martial arts.

“Have you gone crazy?” she asked, speechless.

He laughed. “Just paying tribute to an old friend… died of diabetes.”

“Diabetes?”

Shen Wuxiao nodded. “Yeah, he put sugar in everything he drank—three spoonfuls every ti!”

“That’s insane. No wonder he died!”

“Exactly. Anyway, let’s go shopping!”

He started the car and drove them out of the hospital.

They soon arrived at a shopping mall and began strolling around like any normal couple—eating, chatting, browsing.

While walking, Shen Wuxiao spotted a cosplay shop and imdiately pulled Jiang Huaiyue inside.

When they stepped in, he smiled. “Yue’er, I have one more gift for you!”

Seeing the walls full of colorful costus, Jiang Huaiyue instantly realized what the villain was thinking.

“Are you sure this gift is for … and not for yourself?”

“Don’t sweat the details,” Shen Wuxiao replied, ruffling her hair.

Jiang Huaiyue sighed, helpless against her playful man. “I think that bunny girl costu looks nice…”

“Buy it!” Shen Wuxiao said without hesitation.

“And that Qiongi set…”

“Buy it!”

“Hatsune Miku looks cute too…”

“Buy!”

“What about Mai Shiranui’s costu?”

“Buy!”

“And the one with the overalls and basketball?”

“Buy—wait, no! I don’t want it anymore. Kunlikun makes angry!”

A salesgirl walked over with a professional smile.

“You two have great taste! This overall costu is brand new—and it even has a voice function!”

She thought they were seriously interested, so she picked up the basketball next to the costu.

Suddenly, the voice feature activated.

“What are you doing? Hey—ouch…”

“If you keep touching it, it’ll trigger singing mode. It has lots of tracks! First up: ‘The Legend of Sword and Fairy’!”

She patted the basketball again.

“♫ Love and hate entangle… Ji Ni is too beautiful… Faith in my heart exists for chickens… ♫”

“Wow, very uplifting. I feel like getting up early now,” Shen Wuxiao said.

“Right? This is the legendary ‘wake-up at the sound of the c**k-crow’ system,” the salesgirl bead. “Sir, you’ve discovered its true value.”

“There’s also ‘The Legend of the Chicken-Shooting Hero,’ ‘The Legend of the Chicken Hero,’ and ‘The Chicken Slayer’s Tale’…”

“Nope! No more!” Shen Wuxiao quickly waved her off.

He grabbed the costus Jiang Huaiyue had picked, paid for them, and dragged her out of the store.

The salesgirl sighed, “You just don’t understand my brother at all…”

She then whispered under her breath, “Even though I appear to be a shopping assistant, my real identity is Ziyin, second senior sister of the Kun Sect…”

She hunched over dramatically and walked off.

The couple continued shopping for a while, bought a few more things, then headed ho.

As soon as they walked through the door, Shen Wuxiao could barely contain himself.

He charged into the room, holding bags in one hand and Jiang Huaiyue in the other.

“Hey! Go take a shower first!”

“No rush. Let see Hatsune Miku first!”

The door slamd shut.

Soon after, strange sounds began echoing from inside.

The door remained shut until late in the evening.

When it finally opened, Jiang Huaiyue erged in a nightgown. Her hand rested against the doorfra for support, and her long, slender legs trembled slightly as she walked.

“This can’t go on. I may be happy, but I need help—so sisters to share the burden…”

She collapsed onto the sofa, completely drained.

At first, she had boldly declared she’d make Shen Wuxiao beg for rcy tonight.

But now she realized… she had been far too naïve.

After gulping down a glass of water, she grabbed her phone and called Hong Ye.

The call was answered almost imdiately.

A mischievous voice ca through. “Sister Yue, did you miss ?”

“Yes,” Jiang Huaiyue replied bluntly. “How’s work going?”

“All smooth!”

“Great. I was just wondering… when are you coming to Zhonghai?”

Hong Ye sighed. “I’d love to, but my job’s pretty special. I definitely can’t take ti off right now.”

“Alright then.”

Jiang Huaiyue didn’t push it.

She couldn’t force Hong Ye to co just because she couldn’t take it anymore. The two chatted for a bit, then hung up.

She muttered to herself, “Looks like I need to talk to that scoundrel and have him find a sister…”

“Huang Luoyan’s worth considering, but she’s kind of a tough opponent. He doesn’t seem into that type…”

Jiang Huaiyue understood Shen Wuxiao well.

He was cunning and ruthless—direct and decisive in his actions. If he said he’d toy with you, he’d toy with you. If he said he’d kill you, he wouldn’t hesitate.

Her old comrade, the Wolf King Lin Fan, was smart too. But even he ended up being played like a clown.

It wasn’t just about intelligence—Shen Wuxiao had top-tier strategy and acting skills. People couldn’t keep up.

Even Ye Qingfeng, with all his luck and skill, ended up dead. He ca back strong, but all his subordinates were wiped out the sa day. The next day, he died too.

People like Shen Wuxiao always had one consistent trait—disgust for fools.

None of his n were arrogant or brainless. They followed orders and got things done.

Huang Luoyan was undoubtedly beautiful, but she was also clearly unlucky.

She spent five years raising soone else’s child, enduring countless cold shoulders, pouring her heart out—and for what?

Call it loyalty if you want, but Ye Qingfeng probably just found her the easiest to manipulate.

Otherwise, why didn’t he leave the child with his own parents?

Any family that can tolerate their daughter giving birth after being r***d must love her deeply. No matter how awful the grandparents might’ve been, they wouldn’t have refused to raise their grandchild. It would’ve been easy to send Tuantuan to another city.

So why Huang Luoyan?

If she changed her personality, maybe Shen Wuxiao would show interest. As things stood, it was a miracle she wasn’t dead already.

Just then, the phone on the coffee table rang. It wasn’t her phone—it was Shen Wuxiao’s.

He’d tossed it there earlier when they got ho.

Jiang Huaiyue glanced over and saw it was a call from Old Cat, one of his subordinates.

Shen Wuxiao was fast asleep. She didn’t want to wake him, so she picked up.

“Master…”

“He’s sleeping. Is sothing urgent?” Jiang Huaiyue asked.

Old Cat quickly corrected himself. “Young Madam, I’m reporting on the child’s situation. Sa as reporting to the master!”
