It wasn’t that Jiang Huaiyue had betrayed Lin Fan—because there was no betrayal to begin with.

Her relationship with Lin Fan was never romantic. They had always been comrades-in-arms, not lovers. Even though she once had feelings for him, those emotions had always been a mixture of admiration, respect, and camaraderie—not love.

After spending the entire day thinking it through, Jiang Huaiyue realized that keeping their bond as comrades was the best path forward. It was Shen Wuxiao’s presence that finally helped her understand her own heart.

She had given her body to Shen Wuxiao—that was an undeniable fact.

And with that, her heart had made its decision.

What she felt with Shen Wuxiao was more than a fleeting impulse. The panic and desperation she’d felt while waiting for him to return were real. When she saw him again, it felt like getting back sothing she was terrified of losing.

[Ding! Congratulations, host. You’ve plundered a heroine from the plot. Jiang Huaiyue’s favorability rating has reached 90%!]

[Points 100,000]

[Just one final step… and even the gods won’t be able to take her away!]

Shen Wuxiao was feeling proud—he had taken this step with ease.

Now, it was ti to go further.

He held Jiang Huaiyue in his arms, his smile full of mischief.

She blushed and smacked his chest lightly. “Have you been lusting after for a long ti?”

Shen Wuxiao nodded without hesitation. “Of course. With how gorgeous you are, how could I not? But I never planned on forcing you.”

He added seriously, “Honestly, I rember being knocked out yesterday. I didn’t expect to wake up in your bed.”

“I don’t know exactly what happened… but I know there was definitely so physical contact.”

Jiang Huaiyue sighed. “There was. Twice.”

“You even… took my…”

Shen Wuxiao blinked, pretending to be shocked. “Wait… seriously?”

Jiang Huaiyue’s expression turned a little angry. “If you don’t believe , then forget it!”

She didn’t want to hide anything from him. If she said nothing and he misunderstood her in the future, thinking she wasn’t a virgin, she’d be wronged for no reason.

Since it had already happened, he had to take responsibility.

Shen Wuxiao pulled her into a tighter embrace. “Of course I believe you. There’s even a hole in the bedsheet—I’m not blind. But still… I kind of feel like I lost sothing.”

“Lost sothing?” Jiang Huaiyue’s eyes widened. “Who’s the one who lost out here?!”

“No, no,” Shen Wuxiao laughed. “I just an… I didn’t get to enjoy it properly.”

Hearing that, Jiang Huaiyue instantly lost her temper. She didn’t even have ti to feel shy—this jerk was still thinking about that!

“Then from now on, you’re my woman,” Shen Wuxiao said with a smirk.

“No, I’m not!” she huffed. She still felt like he had gotten away with too much.

“Yes, you are,” he whispered and leaned in, brushing his face against her neck. “You sll incredible.”

Jiang Huaiyue pushed him away, feeling a little overwheld. “Go take a shower! I’ll go cook sothing.”

Shen Wuxiao shook his head. “I’m not hungry.”

“Well, I am!” she snapped. “How am I supposed to eat when you disappear for a whole day with your phone off?!”

She regretted letting him succeed so easily. This guy only thought about himself. How could he let his woman go hungry?

The more she thought about it, the angrier she got. She grabbed his arm and lifted it to bite him in frustration.

But when she rolled up his sleeve, her expression changed.

She saw bruises.

Her heart clenched.

She imdiately began pulling at his clothes, worried.

Shen Wuxiao thought she was being frisky and reached for his belt with a playful smile.

“Don’t move!” she scolded him.

Then she undressed him quickly.

His sculpted torso was revealed, and sure enough, it was covered in light bruises—faint but still clearly from combat.

Jiang Huaiyue’s heart filled with worry and rage. “What happened? Who did this to you?!”

Those bruises hadn’t been there yesterday. They could only have co from whatever he did today.

Shen Wuxiao hadn’t even noticed them until now. But upon looking down, he realized she was right—his fight with Lin Fan had left so marks. Still, it wasn’t serious.

Their battle had been brutal—both of them holding nothing back. Flesh t bone with every hit. He’d co out of it victorious, even crippling Lin Fan, without a scratch on the surface. These minor injuries didn’t bother him.

“It was just a fight. No big deal,” Shen Wuxiao grinned. “The other guy looked way worse. I almost beat him to death.”

Jiang Huaiyue didn’t believe him, but she didn’t press the matter either. Instead, she turned away and went to retrieve a bottle of bruise-healing dicine from her belongings.

Returning, she stripped him completely, made him lie on the sofa, and began applying the cream to his injuries.

Shen Wuxiao was all too happy to comply, enjoying the gentle massage from a beautiful woman.

While she focused on treating him, he began thinking—Maybe it’s ti to give her a little warning. A little vaccine, so to speak.

“Yue’er,” he called, turning to look at her.

“What is it? Did I press too hard?” she asked, glancing at him.

“No, it’s fine. Keep going. I just want to talk.”

“Then talk, I’m listening,” she replied, concentrating on the task.

Her mind was focused on his injuries. She wasn’t thinking about anything else.

“I got so news about Lin Fan today. Want to hear it?”

Jiang Huaiyue paused, but nodded. “Of course. I ca to Zhonghai looking for him, rember?”

Shen Wuxiao spoke frankly. “So, the reason Lin Fan is here… is because of his brother’s death. But the truth is, his brother died because he tried to kill soone.”

“Kill soone?” she frowned.

“Yes,” Shen Wuxiao nodded. “His brother tried to kill a man nad Shen Wuxiao.”

Jiang Huaiyue didn’t react—after all, she didn’t know the real Shen Wuxiao was lying right next to her. She only knew him by another na.

She looked surprised. “Wait… so all this began because of Lin Fan’s brother?”

“That’s right,” he continued. “Shen Wuxiao was marrying a woman from a local family. Lin Fan’s brother had feelings for the bride and decided to crash the wedding.”

“He tried to steal the bride and ended up fighting Shen Wuxiao. But he wasn’t strong enough—and got himself killed.”

Shen Wuxiao deliberately retold the story with exaggerated detail, but the core remained true. It was Lin Chen who had started it, and Lin Chen who had lost.

Jiang Huaiyue fell silent, absorbing every word.

So that was the truth.

It was Lin Chen who had been arrogant and impulsive—and paid the price for it.

And now, Lin Fan had co seeking revenge.
