Lin Fan kept convincing himself that his analysis was correct—the woman he had heard on the phone couldn’t have been Jiang Huaiyue. No way!

After analyzing the situation over and over again, he firmly concluded that the voice belonged to soone else.

Still, as he lay on the cold tal sheet inside that empty, abandoned factory, uneasiness crept into his heart.

That voice… it was Jiang Huaiyue. He was sure of it.

It was the voice of the woman he loved deeply—how could he possibly mistake it? He was a fifth-grade, eighth-level master. His hearing was beyond ordinary. But even so, none of this made sense.

Confused and unsettled, Lin Fan almost called again to confirm—but if he was wrong, it would be too embarrassing.

In the end, he gritted his teeth and reassured himself once more: the woman on the phone wasn’t Jiang Huaiyue.

That voice had been far too gentle—soft, affectionate, even a little playful.

Jiang Huaiyue wasn’t like that at all.

With that thought, Lin Fan finally let out a long sigh. He was exhausted from fighting, escaping, and treating his wounds. He didn’t want to dwell on it any longer and quickly closed his eyes to rest.

Half an hour passed before Lin Fan suddenly sat up straight.

“But that voice… it was Yue’er. What’s going on?”

Nervousness surged through him again, inexplicably overwhelming. His chest felt tight with anxiety.

After so hesitation, he decided—he had to go to the Bay Villa tomorrow.

No matter how reliable your ears are, nothing beats seeing the truth for yourself.

Even if it involved risks, he had to go. If he didn’t, the uncertainty would continue to eat away at him.

Lin Fan was naturally cautious, but he wasn’t suspicious by nature.

He believed in this principle: if you choose to trust soone, then trust them completely. If you can’t trust them, then don’t rely on them at all. His loyalty and trust were unconditional.

Even if that way of thinking brought him loss—like now—it was still a part of his character, and sothing to be respected.

anwhile, Shen Wuxiao was staring at his phone, laughing to himself.

He had deliberately spoken to Jiang Huaiyue on the phone earlier to let Lin Fan overhear her voice.

With Lin Fan’s sharp hearing, he definitely would have recognized her. But the best part was, he still couldn’t be sure.

With his emotions stirred and mind shaken, Lin Fan would almost certainly show up at the villa tomorrow.

Only when you’re on the edge of collapse can you truly understand the aning of despair.

Shen Wuxiao put his phone away and walked into the kitchen with a smirk.

Now was the ti to enjoy the mont.

He wrapped his arms around Jiang Huaiyue’s waist from behind, resting his chin on her shoulder as she prepared supper.

Jiang Huaiyue didn’t resist. She smiled and let him hold her gently.

After supper, they sat in the living room for a while.

Then ca the critical mont—whether to sleep together or apart.

Jiang Huaiyue was the first to head into the bedroom.

She shut the door behind her.

Shen Wuxiao listened carefully.

The door was closed, but not locked.

That was a change—a clear shift from how things had been before.

He wasn’t in a rush. He checked the ti, recalling Jiang Huaiyue’s routine.

She would usually wash up first, then change into her nightgown, and go to bed.

Her washing-up never took more than three minutes. Since she didn’t wear makeup, there was no need to remove any.

When the ti felt just right, Shen Wuxiao took off his shirt, tossed it aside, and confidently strode toward the bedroom.

Inside, just as he expected, Jiang Huaiyue was only halfway through changing into her nightgown.

When the door suddenly opened, she was startled and froze in place.

Seeing Shen Wuxiao walking toward her, her breath caught in her throat.

“You…” she tried to say sothing, but her mind went blank.

Shen Wuxiao gave a light smile. “Don’t bother changing. Let’s skip that step.”

He wrapped his arms around her, holding her close.

“To be honest, I can’t feel you clearly like this. I need to feel you properly.”

He cupped her delicate face and pressed his lips gently to hers.

“Mm…”

Jiang Huaiyue had ntally prepared herself—but for the next night. Not now.

It happened so quickly, it caught her off guard, making her both surprised and nervous.

But once it began, she accepted it.

She turned to embrace Shen Wuxiao and responded warmly. The passion between them gradually deepened.

By the ti the room’s light was dimd to a soft glow, they were already lost in each other.

“Yue’er…”

“Mm…” she answered softly.

Shen Wuxiao looked down at her, gently brushing away a few ssy strands of hair.

“Don’t be nervous,” he whispered. “Tell —do you want this?”

Jiang Huaiyue bit her lip, her heart racing.

After hesitating for nearly five seconds, she finally gave a soft nod and whispered, “Mm~.”

With her answer, Shen Wuxiao didn’t hold back anymore.

Like a breeze and gentle drizzle, he embraced her completely.

The next day, the rain had cleared, and the morning sun bathed the villa in golden light.

Inside the bedroom, Shen Wuxiao opened his eyes to find Jiang Huaiyue curled in his arms like a delicate bird.

She wore a peaceful smile—sleepy, relaxed, and deeply affectionate.

She was still sound asleep. Shen Wuxiao didn’t want to disturb her. He only raised a hand and gently brushed back her hair.

Last night’s experience could only be sumd up in eight words—until takeoff, it was amazing!

He was just about to close his eyes for a short nap when the doorbell rang.

“Ding dong, ding dong!”

Shen Wuxiao couldn’t help but grin. He didn’t even need to check—he already knew who it was.

It had to be that fool, Lin Fan.

Jiang Huaiyue stirred from sleep at the sound. Her beautiful eyes opened slowly.

After what happened last night, everything between her and Shen Wuxiao felt natural now. There was no more distance or awkwardness.

Even without words, they had completely broken down the wall between them.

“Are we expecting soone?” Jiang Huaiyue blinked and looked at him.

Shen Wuxiao held her close. “Probably the person delivering breakfast.”

“I’ll go check. You stay here and rest.”

Jiang Huaiyue nodded obediently.

She didn’t want to et anyone she didn’t know anyway.

Shen Wuxiao pulled his hand back, got dressed, leaned over, and gave her a soft kiss on the lips before leaving the room.

As soon as he stepped outside the bedroom, the tenderness vanished.

Replaced by cold sharpness.

He smiled darkly, walked out of the villa, and stepped into the yard.

The mont he saw who was outside, he nearly burst out laughing.

Lin Fan looked absolutely pitiful.

His hair was singed into frizzy curls. His once-handso face was a ss. His beard had burned to a disgusting yellow hue.

His clothes were torn to shreds, and his ears were wrapped in bandages, stained with dicine. He looked like a beggar—specifically, a modern art-style beggar.

Shen Wuxiao walked up, glanced over him, and snorted. “Why are you begging here?”

He pulled out a red banknote and tossed it at him. “Take this and get lost!”
