And with those final words, his body went limp, and his eyes froze wide open.
“Brother Zhou…” Lin Fan’s voice cracked with anguish. “I dragged you into this… I caused your death…”
He covered his face with trembling hands, gritting his teeth.
Shen Wuxiao sneered, though he had to admit—this kind of camaraderie between protagonists was admirable. Even when facing death, Zhou Sheng had remained loyal.
Lin Fan gently placed Zhou Sheng’s body down. His rage faded into silence.

“What’s he doing?” Shen Wuxiao muttered, watching him with amusent. “Is he… performing?”
He shook his head, calmly raised his revolver, and murmured, “Break… break… break…”
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Deafening gunshots rang out. The revolver spat fire. Each bullet carried a force like thunder.
Lin Fan—still mid-swing—suddenly froze.
His body jolted violently. Blood gushed from five new holes torn clean through his torso.
The exit wounds were so wide, the wall behind him could be seen through his body.
“H-How… how did thermal bullets pierce my defense…” he stamred, staring at the blood pouring from his wounds.
Shen Wuxiao casually spun his revolver, “Duke Nukem,” in his hand and smirked. “Tis have changed, Lin Fan.”
“You think normal hot weapons can’t kill you? Fine. So I loaded these with enhanced bullets.”
“I thought you were about to unleash your ultimate move… but turns out, you were just twirling around like you were in a talent show. Are you training to be a dancer or a warrior?”
Lin Fan’s eyes filled with despair, regret, and pain. His body trembled, and then—

He collapsed backward.
But he wasn’t dead yet.
Shen Wuxiao walked over and stared down at him.
Lin Fan’s face twisted with hatred. Blood bubbled from his lips as he forced out one word: “Despicable…”

Lin Fan’s eyes widened in terror as death lood over him.
He thought of all the choices he’d made, all the warnings he’d ignored.

“The Wolf King? More like a teddy dog sniffing shoes,” Shen Wuxiao mocked.

The final shot rang out.
The bullet struck Lin Fan square in the forehead. His skull burst like a cracked lon. His blood evaporated from the sheer heat of the bullet.
Not even the gods could save him now.

As he said that, his eyes dropped to the base of her neck.
Hong Ye followed his gaze, then quickly covered herself with both arms. “You pervert! I won’t let you touch , not even for lunch!”
“Oh? So you’re tempted.”
“Pfft! You wish. I—” she was blushing furiously, flustered and stamring, “I’m going to lunch! I’m going to eat so much you’ll regret it!”
She turned and ran.
Shen Wuxiao chuckled and followed after her.
Outside the station, the law enforcent officers were going about their work like nothing had happened.
Shen Wuxiao turned back and said with a smile, “Go clean the floor.”
Then he and Hong Ye walked off, hand in hand.
Inside, the officers looked at each other in confusion. When they entered the interrogation room and saw the ss inside, their legs went weak.
Ye Jiancheng was the first to speak, his voice firm:
“Lin Fan tried to escape. When discovered, he violently resisted arrest and injured several officers. We had no choice but to shoot.”
The others nodded. “Exactly! He deserved it!”
“He wanted to escape and hurt innocent people. A criminal to the core!”
As curses and false reports flew, the entire incident was quietly buried.
Lin Fan would never have imagined his end would be like this.
But none of it mattered anymore. He was gone.
