Now reading: Chapter 66: BILLIE AND MILLER from INTERSTELLAR ERA: MY MIND IS A LIBRARY, a Fantasy novel by Voiden.

"Is this the place?" Miller asked calmly as he looked at Billie, whose head was only focused on the paper in her hand.

She nodded calmly.

The warehouse was mostly empty, with only a few people walking around.

But one thing was clear: they were ordinary traders.

Miller tried to believe they were the criminals, but he just couldn’t bring himself to.

But Billie did not hesitate. Her body flickered forward, her sleek dagger appearing in her palm.

She thrust forward at the head of one of them.

The dagger pierced cleanly, bursting out on the other side.

Blood and brain matter spluttered out as she drew her dagger out of the pierced skull.

All eyes turned towards the source of the loud crack.

There, Billie stood, flinging the blood stains off her dagger’s blade.

The group of traders did not even think. They lunged at Billie like a swarm of insects to sugar.

Billie was ready. Her katana appeared in her right hand and her body dipped low in readiness.

But the ti never ca.

A sharp whistle tore through the air, and a flicker of black phased through all of them.

Miller stopped at the back, his gait as calm as ever.

In his hands were his dual blades, clean and pristine.

In Billie’s eyes, all the criminals’ bodies slid apart, falling on opposite sides.

Billie was not surprised by this. She returned her sword to her AI space.

"Thanks for taking the first blood," Miller’s calm voice said before he walked towards the warehouse’s door.

Billie replied with silence as she followed behind.

"Where do you think you’re going? Your opponents are us."

The voice, like thunder roaring through a storm, erupted from behind.

Miller’s body flickered from where he was, his left hand flashing outward to block a lance thrust aid at Billie’s head from behind.

Billie moved in tandem, her katana arcing upward to block the greatsword cleaving down at Miller’s neck.

Miller broke from the lock first, kicking the attacker in the chest.

He leapt back just in ti to avoid another katana thrust aid at his torso.

At the sa ti, Billie ducked, narrowly avoiding a punch to her head.

Miller twisted towards Billie’s side.

Their backs were pressed against each other and they looked at the new intruders with wariness.

"Four master ranks to fight us, your organization is quite generous," Miller taunted.

None of them answered.

"I will take Kay and Gaun; you go with Lan and Gee," Billie said calmly.

"You’re giving them nas already?" Miller asked with a smile.

Then he nodded. In a single step, he crossed half the space between them.

"We never said we were agreeing to your plan," Gee said as he burst forward in the sa instant.

"You never needed to," Miller smirked.

As he said those words, space warped.

Gee and Lan were absorbed into the new place.

Billie looked at the place where Miller had just run towards with a breath that seed rather scared.

This was Miller’s own skill: combat domain.

It allowed Miller to create a domain where his words were rules.

The skill was too broken and had resulted in her loss countless tis in the past.

Although it had limitations, Miller’s pure skill was enough to cover all of these.

As she looked at the other two, a sharp light entered her face, forcing her to step back.

Gaun did not let the gap widen. He covered for Kay, punching towards Billie’s head.

Billie’s head bent backward slightly, just enough for the punch to pass without touching her.

She drove her katana upward, slashing at Kay’s jaw in a quick motion.

Kay sidestepped and drove his leg forward in the sa motion.

Billie blocked with the flat of her blade, only skidding a few steps backward.

Gaun ca in from the side, hand flashing forward towards Billie’s rib.

Billie twisted her torso, letting the hand graze past her side.

She sliced at the wrist imdiately, not even allowing Gaun to withdraw.

Kay moved, his katana catching Billie’s.

There was a smirk plastered on Kay’s face that made Billie sigh.

She swung back up, pushing him back.

The three of them were locked in a fierce staring competition.

Billie in the centre, Kay on the left and Gaun on the right.

They lunged again, this ti finally serious about the fight.

In a vast space of only white, Miller stood calmly, his palm tightly wrapped around the hilts of his swords.

The right one was held straight, while the other was held in a backward style.

Gee looked at him with calm eyes, then shot forward.

Miller was surprised by Gee’s sudden burst.

He leapt back, barely avoiding the slash aid at his head.

But he could not fully avoid it. The attack created a small tear in Miller’s cheek, one that stopped bleeding as soon as Miller channeled aether towards it.

Miller remained composed, his blade arcing through the air towards Gee’s torso.

Gee blocked it with the flat of his blade, but he had underestimated the power behind the attack.

He was sent flying several ters back.

"Weaken," Miller said calmly.

His aether stirred in response as his word took effect on his enemies.

Gee and Lan felt the sudden change.

It was like they had lost sothing vital.

"You think you’re the only one with a special skill?" Gee asked with a wild laugh.

Miller remained unbothered at the threat. Skill or no skill, they were no match for him.

Miller’s body dipped low as his aether flared beneath his feet.

The white floor beneath him cracked slightly, then he lunged.

The other two did not let him reach them. They moved too, their bodies a blur as they streaked through the expanse.

Boom.

Miller caught Gee’s sword with his left sword and Lan’s lance with his right.

Both fighters looked at him with shock.

"What? The fight has barely started, why are you so shocked?" Miller asked with a smirk.
